Great reaction. Larkin Poe has made many of us excited about their music. This is an older performance.
Their music is consistently amazing, songwriting and performances are highly professional and joyful.

they put their soul into their songs & performances. you can check their covers of classic songs (tons of them !). great duo in blues; not so many young generations get into the blues. thank you for the reaction. always great 😊

Glad you listened to them, they have been one of my favs for a couple of years. It's hard to recommend anything else from them because it is all so good, but check out Mad as a Hatter and Bleach Blonde Bottle Blues....

Larkin Poe have used "Tom Devil" many times as the opener to their show, often with the sisters sharing a mic. It's hard to explain the power these 2 have live. As you alluded to, Rebecca bares her soul to the audience, sucking you in. It's easy to get lost in her thrall, but she is so gracious that you know you're in good hands. Megan is the calm to Rebecca's frenetic energy, giving Rebecca a solid foundation to go all out. They do come off as somewhat chaotic, but it is a controlled chaos. They throw caution to the wind, relying on their skills to keep it on track. Musically, they go all over the place. This is definitely dirty blues, but country, bluegrass, rock, even some hip hop has been known to show up. They have an extensive playlist of cover tunes on their channel, where they cover artists that have influenced them in some way. They use it as a tool to discover their sound, as well to pay homage to their influences. They are recorded with just the 2 Lovells sitting in front of an iphone, straight through with no overdubs. They are all spectacular, and have several times gotten high praise from the original artist for the inventive ways they cover the tunes.
I would recommend checking out their newer performances, they have become even stronger. "Mad as a Hatter" is one of their best, and although there is a fantastic version done at the same Convent club on 2015, the one they did with the Nu Deco ensemble in late 2020 really shows how strong Rebecca's vocals have become. ruclips.net/video/Xn0kknnsmV4/видео.html

My introduction to Larkin Poe was from this performance, 'Mad as a Hatter ', and I have been hooked ever since on discovering what they are all about. Must say that it's the best discovery I've had in a while, and I am so looking forward to seeing to them live in October.

Dirty Blues Rock; that's what it is. Together with Laura Cox band and others they will take over the flame of bluesrock. As always very informative M, even when you just had woken up☺

I just discovered you this morning. So it's been a good morning! FyI the reason I keep pulling up your videos is the analysis and opinions you offer during the breaks in the music. Speaking for myself, there is absolutely no need to apologize them. The more the better!

🇬🇧These girls are great ...they can sing and play sweet and light but basically they are The raw uncut Diamonds of dirty delta blues..
They do amazing weekly covers of all kinds of great music but its when they hit the Zztop meets the Bleach bottle blues... another of their tracks, that you know they are going to blues rock you to your core.
And lordy can they play tight ... potentially they could be up there with Edgar and Johnny Winters but i would have loved them to have met and played with the late Dr John.😎
