Everything is looking JUST RIGHT Laura! That color on your obelisks is so cheerful! I especially like the training hooks for your climbing roses and the placement of the raised bed garden with the fountain in the middle. Just perfect!
I know it’s a lot of work but it is absolutely the right choice moving the veggie garden! It looks like it was always meant to be there. Looking forward to seeing it revolve over the season. Well done!!
Thank you Heather! I feel the same. If I didn’t do it, I’d never be happy with it. Right now, they felt forced to me in the old driveway. Because let’s face it, they kind of were. 😆 I appreciate you watching!
It's sad to me I love the look when you walk in and see the boxes filled with nice things and the shed doors behind . Now wat are ur plans for that spot u should just keep all the beds!!!
As usual, Laura, great choices. Please thank your husband for being such a trooper in assisting you in the garden. Thank you for your inspiring videos.
Lol, they magically jumped into your basket....I can't wait to experience the magic this year....you're a few weeks ahead of us in Ohio. It's this time of year that I miss Jersey the most. Everything is looking amazing, and i love the idea of moving the veggies. So exciting! I actually would rather forgo a family vacation and buy more stuff for my garden, but I know that's a bit selfish. Feels good to confess this to someone who might understand, lol.
Everything is coming along nicely, we’ve had very high temperatures here I Massachusetts ,too , not looking forward to 93 degrees today ,happy gardening Laura
Hi Laura! I must say I'm loving your new raised bed area with your beautiful fountain right in the center. The bench is inviting you to sit in the shade of the Red Maple and I'm adoring your new trees. Nice work to you and Mark!
Your gardens have always looked beautiful and well thought out. The new changes are perfection. I'm wondering if you might at some point move the fountain to perhaps under the garage window so that the view to and from the bench isn't obstructed. It feels a little like a chandelier over a dinner table that hangs too low. Glad to hear your recovery is going well. Best wishes to you. Looking forward to more of your wonderful videos.
Thank you! I really love the fountain here. I wanted that to be what I look at when I sit on the bench. Lots of birds flock to it and it’s really pretty to see from our family room window. When it was in the corner previously, it faded into the woodwork and we didn’t really get to fully appreciate it.
You have the garden of my dreams. I like your garden plan and your eye for design. Do you ever find ideas in magazines and/or garden books or do you just have a natural sense of design? I look forward to your videos.
Thank you so much Ann! 💜 I think in part I grew up with parents always gardening and changing things up until it was a certain way or style and that kind of rubbed off on me. But I get a lot of inspiration on Instagram, mostly English cottage type garden style. I hope you have a great weekend!!
Moving the beds was absolutely the right thing to do . I am just like you , I DO NOT work in the garden in the heat . Early mornings or evening after dinner , that’s me . or a cool day. I’m zone 7b NC . It gets HUMID & HOT . 🥵 . Laura, it’s perfect. And I know your parents are gonna love their new raised beds . I hope your mom is doing great 🌻❤️
Love the new location for the raised veggie beds. The old location made a narrow space feel even more narrow. If you removed the hedge, it might unify the two areas more and get rid of the lingering feeling it’s a driveway. Looking great overall!
I can relate because my yard was a bowling alley! LOL I divided the area with an arbor/partial fence and it was amazing how much wider it made the yard feel. You can see it on my Instagram feed. I am wondering if you could turn your arbor so it opens toward the shed/old garage and run the hedge out from that point. Of course this is easy for me to say! LOL!
I am so happy I found your channel again. I have been following Linda's new house, and Sydney's new potager and here you are with your own potager project! I adore your style.
I agree with you! I'm going to work on my big project next Wednesday when it's cooler. Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden and changes. It's always fun to change something up.
Laura, I light-up every time I see a new uploaded video from you. I love your garden. The sink in the greenhouse is also very beautiful; saw that in a previous video. The Dahlias are going to be lovely against the wall of the greenhouse.
Everything looks wonderful! I’m like you, I always move things around and I’m always thinking new possibilities and ideas. Love everything you are doing!
Good morning! It’s going to be another hot one and the wildfires are still on! The mild winter was kind to my perennials (lung wort, salvias, hissops, and yesterday I planted caladiums and begonias under my pansies. When the caladiums break through, I will remove the pansies. I overwintered pepper plants! Your gardens are great!
I’m so glad you’re doing well!! It’s a scary thing. I had squamous cell on my ear. I wear a bandana to cover them now. My shirt was coolibar! I should have said that. Great clothes! Wishing you lots of covered fun in the sun! ☀️🏖️
Laura, I love your garden because it's full of discovery like the flower and bunny. 🥰 So charming! I think the new raised bed location is perfect. I'm looking forward to seeing what you plant. ❤ Although I live in Humboldt County in far north California, I need to remember sun screen. I hate wearing it. Thanks for the reminder. You're so right that five minutes turns into an hour. I'm glad to hear you are doing well. 🙂
Laura, I absolutely love all the changes; they are perfect near the greenhouse! The only thing that’s constant is change, so as our vision grows, so do our ideas. I know that it was a tremendous amount of work, so I’m glad that Marc is such a amazing helpmate. Can’t wait to see it in full bloom 🥰
Thank you! I mentioned that I’ll be planting some boxwood hedges, like when you walk into the back gate. I’ll plant some things inside of those areas. Kind of just duplicating that area, but more cutting garden flowers.
...what a treat this morning! Your "garden lane" in your gravel driveway is already glorious in its own right, but your new raised bed garden is even better, I have to say... it is perfect nestled between your garage/shed and greenhouse, and I love the symmetry of the center fountain and your bench. LOVE IT! I just love it! (I said that already🙃) I'm excited! (Oh, and I did order a bistro umbrella and ground stake like you recommended the other day...that should come any day now). From naturegirl 👩🏼🌾💚 =^..^=
Hi again, the obelisk that I asked previously about is the metal one on the back corner of the house. Wondering where could I purchase one like that. And by the way, I also want my husband to build one like you husband did. Keep going girl, you got the gift!
You have a nice area for your new veggie garden. It was a wise decision you moved your Japanese maple before it got any bigger. We put in a koi water garden about 14 years ago. A word to the wise, if you are going to put in fish make sure you wait a couple of weeks for the water to mature and use a water detoxifier for the chlorine in the water. I found out the hard way and lost my first bunch of fish. Don't add too many fish at once either. Bonny zone 5b
Thank you! I had a koi pond for quite a few years, and grew up with a large one at my parents. Your advice is spot on and appreciated for everyone seeing this. My major problem was blue heron thinking they were lunch. 😩 I had it netted most of the time. I didn’t want to use a decoy but I might this time. Thanks so much for watching!
@@HowsItGrowing A blue heron caught my favorite gold koi a few years ago ever since then I keep a black net on the pond. They all survived the winter and are doing great.
Thank you so much Amy! It was one of those situations where it was either going to be great or a huge mistake. I’m glad it’s coming together. Thank you for watching!
❤your new plan. I love what you’ve done! The raised beds look great near the greenhouse. It’s always hard to get started when you’re doing the work yourself but you did great and you motivated me.😊😅
Thank you so much! That is so true! 😆 I finally just said, well, I guess it’s now or never. Haha! I’m glad you’re here, and happy to have motivated you! Happy Spring to you!
Your garden is going through an amazing transformation! So many changes!! It looks wonderful! Isn't it true, that we ponder changes so much, and after we make the changes, we ask ourselves why it took so long!! Been there, done that too!! Love your birdhouse next to the greenhouse. Can I ask where you found it? Thank you!
Thank you so much for the super sweet message. 💜 I got that bird house many years ago at a locsl Amish store. But I highly recommend Good Directions. They are online and sell post birdhouse. A great family owned company. I have several other bird houses of theirs.
Thank you Rochelle! Mostly all of my arbors and trellis are from Lowes! I order online for pickup though, because there is way more selection online than in store.
Hi Victoria! I bought both fountsins from garden-fountains.com I love them. It’s definitely upkeep to clean and refresh. I waited until they ran a good coupon of 20% off. They have great sales often and free shipping.
Your garden is always spectacular, but I think this year it will be truly stunning! So excited for you. And thats awesome that you treated yourself to those spiral boxwoods! They are going to be a perfect addition. I finally found a Zephirine Drouhin this year, but I don't really have a place to trellis it. Do you think it would work if I built or picked up a large obelisk for it to grow on?
So super nice of you! Thank you! I asked for Home Depot gift cards for Christmas hoping to find the spiral boxwoods. 😀 I honestly think it will very quickly outgrow the obelisk. It grows fast! With that said, you could totally do this and just trim the canes. I definitely wouldn’t plant 2, just one on an obelisk. I have 2 Colette climbers on my obelisk and I think I’ll end up having to remove one. Better airflow and less prone to disease this way.
Hi! When pushing the canes downward and outward, there’s a bit of resistance, so I really just did that so they wouldn’t pop out of the openings if facing up.
Everything is looking JUST RIGHT Laura! That color on your obelisks is so cheerful! I especially like the training hooks for your climbing roses and the placement of the raised bed garden with the fountain in the middle. Just perfect!
Thank you friend! I truly appreciate your positive encouragement all the time. Means a lot! 👍👍
Your gardens are the stuff of my dreams, so pretty, so feminine, I just think its wonderful!
Such a nice compliment. Thank you! 💜

Hi Marilyn! Thank you so much! 😃💜 I appreciate it! How are you? I hope you’re enjoying Spring and doing wonderful! xo
LOVE the new layout. Cant wait to see it booming this season!
Thank you friend! I’m so tired of moving stuff. 😆 I know you understand. I’m over it! 😆

Good for you wow it’s hot there it’s partly cloudy and high if 67 in SoCal still waiting for spring too. You yard is looking good.
Love the new setup and can't wait to see what you are doing with the driveway!
Thanks Deborah!! 🌷🌷

Your garden is so cute and organize ❤️ By the way, you have all the fountain that are on my wishlist! 😂😅
Haha! 💜💜 you have amazing taste. I love every bit of your garden. I always look forward to your posts!

Totally agree with you on this! Thank you! 🥰 I’m trying to de-driveway the whole thing. Feels like a bowling alley. 😆

The metal one on the corner of your house.
👍😊
Great design. Was so pretty before, but now it’s fabulous! Great job!

It’s electric. I bought it from garden-fountains.com
