    I think something everyone should have is a skatebag with old hardware, bearings, bushings etc. It'll come in handy especially when someone at the park, a friend, or you break something and the session can continue. It can also be a good way to make friends at the park.

    #2 is extra true online lol. People think that everyone should be Tampa AM level when even the guys in Tampa AM are like better than 99% of skaters.

    I learned to Ollie on day one of skating. It was probably the worst thing that happened to me. I was like ‘this is what it looks like’ and bam it just worked. So I figured I’m gonna be really good at this right?Wrong! It was just luck. And when I couldn’t kickflip 6 weeks later I quit figuring this just wasn’t for me. Yeah, I had the wisdom of a 15 year old, but if Ollie-ing had taken me say, a month, I think I would have had way more appreciation for how hard skating was and would be. I picked it back up in my 30s and ‘landed’ my first ‘kickflip’. This time it was quick because of all the RUclips explainers out there. But this time I had the perspective to know it was gonna take a lot of work to actually be able to kickflip and do it consistently, let alone skate ‘well’. I started to skate for the love of it instead of only because I thought I might be good at it and it improved my whole experience with skating. It was worth it but I wish I hadn’t missed out on 20 years of fun.

    Been skating for a few years. Always trips me out when dudes who've ripped for 20 years tell me I'm pretty good for the amount of time. Makes me wonder if that 1% thing is true. I think I suck lol.

    • @GatoTime
      @GatoTime  Год назад +1

      Honestly that 1% thing forsure might be a wack stat in retrospect, kids rip these days, but it still stands that a lot of people are better that they give themselves credit for

      @@GatoTime yeah i kinda refuse to believe that, unless we are going to include every type of cruise board available and people who have had a skateboard in their closet for the past 6 years without hopping on it.

    No way that 1 percent of skaters thing is true that is crazy! I thought I sucked because I can only ollie and front shove. I not necessarily saying that I am way better than everyone now but that completely changes my perspective.

    Learn to boneless instead of Ollie. It is significantly easier so you can focus more on riding.

    I disagree with mongo pushing setting you back. It gives you a perfect switch push & its more motivating to learn to push regular after realizing that mongo is whack. Learning to push switch sucks & is hard to stay motivated with.

    • @GatoTime
      @GatoTime  Год назад +1

      It does suck to switch push, and mongo does help with that, I can’t argue that. But in terms of what you will use sooner, I think regular pushing helps more. If you can’t even push while balancing then you don’t need to switch push yet
