Thanks for your videos. They have greatly helped me plan my Sedona trip this past weekend. I just did the 7 sacred pools and devils kitchen loop. I would suggest for those who perfer more flow to take Grand central than Javelina. They both run parallel and end pretty much at the same point, and there's a nice amazing view at the top of Grand central.
Thanks for the feedback. For future reference, you might also want to check out my video with the Top 10 trails in Sedona. It’s been years since I rode Grand Central, time for another lap. Thanks for watching!
Thanks!! You could combine this ride with the Soldiers Pass trail and see some pretty awesome scenery…the Soldiers Pass trail is covered in a separate video but all these trails are connected. Time for a big road trip!!
Nice video as always Ron, thanks. I've been interested in planning a trip to Sedona to ride. Question regarding the black designation, I know the cameras can make trails appear easier than they are however these trails look intermediate to me - and I'm comparing them to black designations for trails near me, Gooseberry Mesa for example. Do you feel they are easier than rated? Thanks
Good question. I think Sedona ranking is generally similar to that around Hurricane. But you can probably appreciate that there is a fair range between an easy black and a hard black. And even within a trail that might be ranked as black, there may be some brief sections that are actually double black. I am thinking of you can ride all the features on South Rim on Gooseberry, then you can ride any black in Sedona. I would say that these two trails: Jordan and Javelina are probably easy black and maybe even a hard intermediate. The blacks in Sedona might be a little more ledgy and technical than on Gooseberry. But regardless, go ride Sedona…it’s fabulous. Maybe have a look at my video of the Top 10 MTB Trails in Sedona for ideas of what to ride!!
When I was in Tucson (2022) I took my bike into the hotel. That sucks your bikes were stolen. What type of locking system were you using in Phoenix when your bikes were stolen?
Yea that sucked! Learned my lesson! I was using what I thought were pretty solid lock/chain from REI. I am not complaining specifically about Phoenix or Arizona…with the price of bikes these days it happens everywhere!

Always a pleasure to see a new video!
Your rant is spot on btw.
Thanks for both compliments! And thanks for watching!
Great video. Love the scenery there. I would love to ride those two trails. We have nothing like that in south Georgia. Pedal safe

I love this video! As a minor correction, the rocks there are sedimentary sandstone and shale, not volcanic.
Thanks for the correction…guess I need to brush up on my geology!
