- Hello everyone! Today's episode of the classic adventure series is dedicated to "The Prisoner of Zenda" (1937) starring Ronald Colman, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., David Niven or Mary Astor. If you haven't yet watched this adaptation or read the original novel, you are in for a treat. I highly recommend you giving it a try and in this video I will give you plenty of reason to do so!

IMHO the greatest swashbuckler ever made, topping even Errol's 'Captain Blood' and 'The Adventures of Robin Hood'. If you enjoy the plot and book of 'The Prisoner of Zenda', I do strongly commend to you, Anthony Hope's sequel, entitled 'Rupert of Hentzau', which might alternatively be titled "Zenda II, or Rupert's Revenge" - definitely worth a read, but you will need plenty of tissues for the final scene!

I’m also unacceptably late to the Ronald Colman appreciation party 😅
He was Vincent Price’s idol and of course inspired so many other actors, so I’ve no idea why I haven’t watched more of his movies. Just not acceptable. The time has come ☺️
