Who misses Waylon.?
I know i do..
He is with his friend now and he is free of that diabetes that riddled his body
We the family do, Forever..
I do but I love that we can always go back to the records and interviews. One of the great things about saving our vinyl. Also one of the great things about the internet. Waylon was one of the greats!
@@susiehaynie1767
Yes Madam, my whole point exactly - it's just good to hear from some of the great Waylon fans such as yourself that's all,
thank you sharing back your reply Susie - much respects to you..
My most prized possession is an autographed photo I reseaved in 1994 from Waylon!
How in the hell could anybody put a thumbs down to the one only OUTLAW and the best musician that walked through this life. WAYLON4LIFE
Someone who knows nothing about what a great artist is.A legend. They have no clue what it's all about.
Love Waylon
That's what I call Down Right stupid!!!!
My husband love the song rainy day woman

Waylon, Buddy, Ritchie and The Big Bopper. R.I.P. All of you! Shawn
At least still got Dion, Willie, and Mr. John Fogerty around today.
I was just at the Surf Ballroom 2 weeks ago and saw Waylon's autograph on the wall of the famous green room backstage. The fact that he didn't return to the Surf until 36 years after that snowy and tragic night says a lot about how haunted Waylon was by the memories and at the time a seemingly innocuous joke
To be fair, as Waylon got more famous, he played bigger venues.
@@stanleycoop7204 he still played a venue's that size if you watch his RUclips videos
Il a eu de la chance de perdre le pari autrement il serrai mort avec les légendes dans l'avion
Reposer en paix les legendes
Greatest musician to have ever stepped foot on a stage
I'm convinced the events that happened that night changed Waylon. I love the man and I'm so blessed to have made my pass thru this universe while he was here and I'm blessed to have seen him. People think they'd like to win the lottery. All the money in the world wouldn't bring him back. If you got to know who Waylon was and you love his music, you won the lottery.
I dont know the man personally, but he seems like a genuinely humble human being. The kind of person that's a friend to the end. Thanks for the memories Mr Waylon.
I was at dinner with Waylon and Jessie one night when a young man came to the table and asked him if he was Waylon. Waylon really made the young man feel comfortable, said he was, and gave him an autograph. Others in the restaurant just looked but decided not to bother us while we ate. After dinner, we went outside to the car and a young lady came up to me and asked if that was Jessie Colter and I said it was. She got all excited and asked me if she could get a photo with her and I said I would ask her. I did and Jessie met the young lady and gave her an autograph. Waylon called her over and also gave her his autograph.
He was always a real gentleman and never once ignored the man on the street.
I will always miss him.
🤘
Oh, he's a real gentleman!!! A true blue person!!!❤😂
Loved Waylon gone to soon! RIP HOSS! You will never be forgotten! Buddy would be proud of the legend you became! That terrible plane crash was not your fault! Buddy would be the first to say so !! RIP Buddy you are not forgotten either!! ❤️
Buddy probably met at the gate.
Beautiful words my friend, 👌👍👍👍
The Man, The Outlaw, The Legend..
The last time he was there was that very NIGHT in 1959!!
Imagine that!😲
Absolute legend. R.I.P Big man
I'm 67 yrs old and I remember when they died,so very sad ,they were good clean musicians, may they rest in peace
You were just a little kid then... wow were your parents into Buddy Holly or Big Bopper .. or did you have older siblings that were into them ?
I was 18 when it happened. We all sat round with guitars and had a sort of wake. Crazy thing is a young guy there age 15 who was learning guitar and would many many years later actually tour with the crickets on lead guitar was my friend .Name. Albert Lee. He goes every year to Surf ballroom in Feb for the 59 anniversary.
John I hope you got good and liquored for the boys my friend. must have been a horrible day. what were you doing when you heard? Hopefully you go with Albert this year. Amazing stories Albert must have as well
Years ago
Waylon wrote a song called Old Friend dedicated to his friend Buddy Holly. Well worth taking a listen to.
Also A long time ago. Great song
@Kevin Prima they were joking around with each other. Those words also haunted him for years...
Just a couple of young guys bantering back and forth. "Well I hope your bus freezes up" " Oh yeah, well I hope your old plane crashes" Neither of them thinking it could ever happen. And then it did.
@@garyfaught3769 exactly!
When I get depressed put one of his CDs on and it brings me out of it. I LOVE WAYLON
He was a very lucky man to have been in their lives - look at it as a blessing .
God bless you Waylon. God bless Buddy, and JP, Ritchie, and Tommy too.
My he was so dam good looking.and also a great performer.so sad this man passed away.
Waylon that's the way me and my best friends say we love each other you were in no way responsible. That was all way before even my parents time but I'm sure buddy would say don't you dare feel guilty shit happens I still hope your ol bus freezes up love you Waylon I'll see you in heaven well jam together r.i.p. both of you
Simply love Jennings. Great singer/songwriter. Good looking guy too. The whole package. Listen to his songs all the time - in New York City. Thanks Waylon.
Absolutely handsome, charming, and talented man. What a loss. He had it all.
this man looks completely photogenic. He was actually more handsome as he got older. He looked like a different person.
That's interesting because I did think he was much more Handsome when he was younger but I kind of do see what you mean now.. funny thing is yes he does look completely different.. especially the look in his eyes is very different .
Yes, no more drugs.
Well said. Really clear way of speaking too.
He definitely changed as he got older...his voice did too. In his early days it was almost always smooth...as he got older he got that gravely sound that come to define him. He was the man!
@@kevinshoemakermusic3850 cocaine and cigarettes will do that to a man's voice
I could listen to him all day.
I visited Waylon's gravesite in Mesa last month. Love that man❣️
Hi Judith
Waylon, the man was one of a kind!
Waylon is the staple for classic country music 🎵 he is classic country at it's best
After such an experience as the crash of the plane is no longer the same person as before and you have to fight with security hard with himself and the world! Waylon must have had a damn strong will, and also character to work out of it again and especially to find the courage nevertheless, with the memories of the lost friends to continue to make music and find his own way. Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to see him live, but his music lets him live on at least in the memory. Also here in Germany.
I hope my English is good enough to understand what I want to say! Unfortunately, I do not have too often the opportunity to practice my American English! Waylon Jennings was one of the best musicians I have heard.
Waylon was one of the best out there
I wrote a story once that Buddy Holly missed the plane but lost his memory in a car crash and then years later remembered. It was a labour of love and wishful thinking. My research for the story revealed how Waylon was given a bass guitar by Buddy and told to learn it which he did despite misgivings.
Waylon was just so Laid Back and so Cool, and oh yes Handsome..
This gentleman is real. Listen to his lyrics! I believe he is a GOOD human.
I love Waylon and have since a little girl (kind of a long time, now).
You're beautiful Rachel
You have fabulous taste! I’ve always thought he had the most beautiful face... his strong features were so unique and masculine. Very handsome. My teenage daughter has a pic of young outlaw Waylon on her bulletin board.
@@joshrichardson3837 good try mate...she is a cutie...and loves waylon! Sounds too good to be true

Nice video. Not sure how no more views and comments. A huge part of music history! Buddy and Waylon were so close.

I did the buddy Holly wk, end at the surf ballroom for 3o years running !! I have tons of memorabilia and I can't imagine what to do with it at the ripe old age I am now !! What an awesome weekend, and my name is on a brick outside of the surf, God bless them guys !! Life long memories ❤❤❤
Gone missed but never forgotten
I still believe he was the best to ever do it. I love a lot of the greats but Waylon is my favorite.
Always find it interesting that his most popular songs are great but not necessarily his best. Dig into his catalogue. It’s is incredible. Especially 60s and 70s
Especially 70s. A good album that’s pretty fun is the life story one he did in 88.
So much for Dion's story!
Saw Waylon with the Crickets, twice in Iowa in the late 70s. Great shows. The man was a legend. He had Jessi Colter with him one year.
Thank you for posting. Waylon and Mark Knofler’s version of ‘Learning The Game’ is spellbinding.
This took courage to do. A measure of the man himself. Buddy and Waylon gone way too soon.
I just found out my brother visited the crash site 10 years ago. He never mentioned it. Had no idea my brother never told me ever was in Iowa. I envy him.
A VALUABLE LESSON IN LIFE HERE IS LEARNING TO FORGIVE YOURSELF FOR YOUR MISTAKES AND CIRCUMSTANCES; BUT, THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL IS TO LEARN FROM THEM AND MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE. THIS SEEMS TO BE THE HARDEST PART THAT A LOT OF US FIND HARD TO GRASP! 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Saw him and Jesse once. They were great.
That haunted poor Waylon. made him Lonesome onry and mean. Love the real country. R.I.P Waylon
Love Waylon and Buddy was the best!!!
What a man! RIP
That was awesome what he told Mark Knopfler, Buddy's song remained like he recorded it
the best rip Waylon

I love you Waylon Jennings. You are still my favorite to listen to.
Waylon, Buddy, Ritchie, Big Bopper, gave us very, very much happiness. All giants, rest in peace.
He's been with Buddy since 2002, and I'm sure they're making beautiful music with and for the Lord, up above the stars, right now
Waylon Jennings is the only man I ever saw who would not claim bankruptcy so he didn’t have to pay his debts. He paid everyone off he exercised. He is or was a honest man. Yes he had a rough time with drugs but he whipped them and still had a successful life. I loved Waylon. Allot because of his talent but one reason is he looked allot like my late husband. Fact is in this video here he looks so much like Bill it makes me cry. I love you Waylon. I’m so proud of you for whipping that drug problem. I’m so glad you met Jesse cause she was the exact one for you.
Awesome interview
Has a great voice even when he talks
Thats why he was the narrarator for Dukes of Hazzard
Er war so ein sympathischer Mann !!!!! Und einer der besten Country Sänger ‼️‼️
Thank you so much for this interesting vidéo
Hi Terry
Hes a real emphat .he inspire people around him and got lost but he knows to come back and learned lesson about it and go straight
Such an honest, genuine person
RIP Buddy, Richie, Bopper and Roger Peterson. RIP Waylon you were so great.
Waylon was one good looking man! 😍
He radiated cool.
Your missed
My friend
God bless
You😊
My wife and I visited the crash site last weekend-- I wondered whether Waylon had ever visited the site. It had to be tough living life after that tragedy-- knowing that it could have been his own life ending.
Listen to Waylon's song old friend it's on the Are you ready for the country album 1976 it's about Buddy you can hear the pain he still missed Buddy I believe the hard times he spoke of going through in the song are the drugs and the crash played a big part in his addiction for so many years
Loved Waylon. :-) ms charlie, texas :-)
I was NEVER fortunate to be able to go to ant concerts. I'M 79 and would have LOVED to go to at least one!
Bunch of young guys with some awsome early early
Rockin Role..
I wonder how much R and R
They had in them...
What a terrible loss...
Not only was he a great musician but a heck of good looking man. I hope before he died he realized how much he was loved by his followers, and appreciated and loved himself.
I sure do miss him!
Great interview.
I'm Singaporean so almost fell out of my chair when he suddenly mentioned Singapore
He's absolutely right about the producers
WAYLON HAD A TOURTURED SOUL
If Waylon Jennings had died we would never have had The Dukes Of Hazzard theme tune.
Darren Herbert very very True !!
Or Dukes of Hazzard. I read somewhere that the only reason cbs picked up the show and aired it is because Waylon was involved with it.
Worst thing he ever did
@boo boo No. It wasn't. And the show sucked balls.
@@bobwilson360 you shut your fucking mouth and show some respect to waylon Jennings and one of the best tv shows ever you understand me you fucking idiot
This was very cool . Thanks for the post !
God Bless Waylon Jennings.
Wow. Wow. Just wow!
He is as gorgeous as his voice.
He sticks to the subject and doesn't self indulge.
He carried so much guilt over that tragedy. 19 years old that's alot to put on a kid at his age during that time. The guilt over giving up his seat on the plane and then joking with Buddy and saying I hope your plane crashes. Waylon was terrified for years that the press would find out and people would have him for that.
Mic Joseph Vid's I’d like to think Buddy met Waylon at the gates with a, “nice goin’”, and they both had another chuckle about the whole thing.
I love Waylan n I love you
Tommy and Richie flipped a coin and that makes sense because the plane was chartered for Buddy and his band. Why Dion said that it didn’t happen that way doesn’t make sense because of what I just said. It was for Buddy’s band not Richie or the Big Bopper.
He's right about 'Well alright' - wonderful song.
NO DISRESPECT HERE: I noticed the interviewer said “they were are trying to keep Buddy Holly’s spirit alive.” That’s not possible because once a person is gone to the other side their spirit goes back to Yehovah; but, their soul stays with them. THE INTERVIEWER SHOW HAVE SAID THEY WERE TRYING TO KEEP BUDY HOLLY’S LEGACY ALIVE.
FANTASTIC!!!!
This interview deserved to be recorded without that background noise.
I just wish everyone in the place could have been asked to keep quiet during this recorded interview.
Him and my grandfather were close my grandfather was from Littlefield they grew up together and picked cotton together my grandfather even attended his funeral
They kept in touch for most of his life my until waylon died
Every now and then when he would be in Georgia waylon would stop in and see him
I have one memory of that and and his wife Jessie
She was a very pretty woman and very nice
Waylon was honestly kinda intimidating but I was only 4
I remember he wore a big trench coat and smoked allot
And drank allot of coffee
They laughed and laughed on that couch that was the last time they ever talked in person waylon died a year after
Been wearing a Waylon belt buckle since 1995
Love. You. Waylon
He flipped a coin.lost the toss but it saved his life.Story goes they found stuff in the plane with his name on it .Told his parents he was in the plane. When they got to the next gig ,he called his mum to tell her he was ok .And I think she collapsed on hearing his voice .They had no idea about the crash till they arrived at next gig. Fate is strange.
Yes, I heard that Waylon say he had given The Big Bopper his ID cause he asked him to pick up a package for him at the post office when they landed and that's how the thought he was on that plane....cause of his ID.
also John when Buddy found out that Waylon gave up his seat they shared a joke Buddy goes i hope your bus freezes up and Waylon responded well I hope your ole plane crashes Waylon did not get over that for years if ever completely
@@ede4961 I thought that was Tommy Alsup.
@@decadantdog4444 Seems I heard Waylon tell that story in an interview, but I can't recall which one. I used to think I could never be wrong, then I met my wife! Ha ha. She reminds me every now and then that I am wrong.....ALL THE TIME! So, it's a possibility that I am wrong, but I'm almost certain it was Waylon....just can't recall exactly where I heard it. If you should look into it more and find I'm wrong, let me know I'd appreciate it. Thanks
@@ede4961 I just read that it was Tommy Allsup who gave his wallet to Buddy, fyi!
The Man should know!!! haha Between Neil Diamond and Bob Seger!!!! Wow great Insight!!!
Waylon please know what happened was not your fault.
Never knew about much about music when I was young but Waylon was the sound of the dukes of hazzard. Funny he had a big past in music history
Please go to the crash site, if that doesn't move you, you're not human.
I grew up riding in a car driving up and down I-35 and my parents never bothered to stop and walk that 1/2 mile with me to the site and that saddens me, especially considering they grew up in Albert Lea and were there in 1959!!!
