Paul sings lead on "The Living Years" by Mike & The Mechanics. Paul was briefly in the British band Squeeze and sang lead vocals on their hit "Tempted". He also sang lead vocals on the band Ace's hit "How Long".
Hi S., Correct, I love Ace's version of "How Long" .. ♠W.G.
Paul Carrack has some seriously great solo stuff. I have a huge playlist of his songs… can listen to him literally all day…
Paul Carrack is so underrated. One of my favorite singers. Tempted" and "Don't Shed a Tear
Paul Carrack also played with a group called Squeeze. Check out "Tempted" and "Don't Shed a Tear."
Hi Harri! Thanks for jamming with me! Paul carrack wrote this in the band called ace..always loved his voice
Two fucking legends, and two of my heroes.
Love Eric but Paul Carrack has one of my top 3 voices.
This song is so amazing on its own but Eric Clapton’s solo made it even better. Two for the price of one is spot on. I can’t believe I have not seen this before even though I am married to the biggest Clapton fan ever! Thank you for choosing to react to this Harri. 🥰
Thank you Harri. I had not seen this live version. I didn't realize you were already familiar with the original. Love Paul Carrack. Ace, Squeeze and Mike & The Mechanics come to mind he was lead singer for and had hits with. He has other solo hits as well.
Another great request. Loved the Ace version and Harri's jazzy find with Eric's guitar.
Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
@@marybaillie8907 Thank you Mary!!! I didn't know Harri was already familiar with the original but he found a great live version. Cheers from Tennessee!!!
@@Imadrummin This song really takes me back. Excellent choices, Imadrummin, and, Harri!
Do try a song by Paul Carrack called " I need You ". Great soul singers from Britain. Very fond of Frankie Miller (Scotland) as well.
A great song and Clapton accompanies it fantastically. Thanks for sharing and best regards from hamburg (Germany) @all
I've been requesting this incredible performance for years on many reaction channels - thank you. Bear in mind that both these monster stars have been at it for 50+ years, and still kick ass. Clapton's history is hugely known, but Paul's golden voice has been a part of many great bands as well: Ace (originators of this song), Roxy Music, Squeeze, and Mike & the Mechanics (with Mike Rutherford of Genesis), and performed with Roger Waters on his tour of "The Wall". He is also a prolific composer and session musician. Here he is, live, with Mike & the Mechanics: ruclips.net/video/DCUmmvWHS2Q/видео.html
Phil Collins once stated that "Paul could sing the telephone directory".
You're right, nothing better than a Fender Rhodes. Great song and great performance.
This is, in one word, a real Masterpiece. Goosebumps all over. 💕💕👍👍
Eric, had a group called Derrick and the Dominoes and they played my favorite song, Layla!
Eric Clapton one of the best!
Clapton just did a show at the Royal Albert Hall this month. I think it was on the 8th. If you look for it , you can catch the whole show on YT
Another good one! Knew the song, but never had seen this version. Nice pick imadrummin and big thanks to Harri !
👍
I download all your reaction videos. You have your own folder. My Grandsons like you the best, and you play some classics their grandpa grew up with..... Too Cool
"Rock n Roll Heart", "Lay Down Sally", "It's In The Way That You Use It"...
HIGH Harri.... I was lucky enough to have seen "GOD" Live. Eric Clapton has a special gift on his Stat that is godly for sure. Have a Splendid Successful Day.
Please consider 'Don't Shed A Tear' by Paul. Great song and performance.
Paul carrack also played with the eagles, for a while back in the day.
Great choice
Sometimes you react to a video I don't already have (rare) so I go get it.... like this one, Thanks
Singers who have hits with different bands:
John Waite
Chris Cornell
Steve Winwood
Ronnie James Dio
Warm dust....
This was about a band member and not a girl!
Harri, you are dating yourself if you were a music fan back in 1978! 🎸
HARRY HOW ABOUT WEE WEE HOURS WITH ERIC AND CHUCK BARRY LIVE CHECK IT OUT LOVE YOU
Harri, I forgot to request this but if you're a Paul Carrack fan then you might want to give a listen to his duet with Carlene Carter (June Carter Cash's daughter), a cover of your favorite blue-eyed soul band Shades of Blue's "Oh How Happy." ruclips.net/video/SVrHzK4rHKM/видео.html. It's less than 200,000 views. Maybe you can listen to it on your own time if you don't want to bend your own rule.
He sounds good but can't go after those high notes like the original. The Clapton makes this worth giving a listen.
