Hello, Great video. Loving the pedal. I'm planning on using it in a few different ways. Is there any chance we could turn off the amp section in an update please? I like the dirty channel but there are times I'd like to add a different preamp inbetween the boost and IR. Great job NUX.

If this is unclear, I'd like to use the clean channel as is and switch to the dirty channel with a different preamp in the fx loop. I hope this is possible and something you would consider adding. Many thanks.

Hi, I have 2 mvave chocolate midi footcontrollers lying around and it would be great if they could be used with the amp ac.
I set them up as you did with the ampero control, and as the mvave controllers have a usb c port I connect them directly to the AA. Unfortunately it does not work. Any experience with this?

Thank you for the useful video.
    Quick question.
The HOTONE switcher has a USB MIDI port, right?
I wonder if you don't need to use a USB midi host box and you can directly connect from the switcher to Amp Academy...
Are there any reasons that you don't do that and use a USB MIDI host box?

I think that if it works with an app, that input should also work to connect a midi controller

I don't use a Nu-x anymore, I sold mine and I use an Arena 2000 now but still, the midi host doesn't make sense, just run the switcher to the USB on the Nu-x. You don't need to "Convert" midi to USB...they are two totally different things and MIDI is handled BY the USB. You should only need the host if your running a pedal or keyboard with no USB out and a 5 pin midi out only

I used to have an RJM RG-16 rack unit that combined 8 switchable pedal loops with 8 amp function switches. RJM sold a cable that connected from my Fuchs TDS combo to the RG-16 and this allowed me to replicate all the amp's footswitch functions, and, configure various pedals to be on/off - all controlled by my Roland FC200 footswitch.
In looking at purchasing something new, I see the GigRig G3, a huge advance from the pedal capabilities of the RG-16, I'm wondering if it can also reproduce all the functions of the Fuchs footswitch?
Unfortunately, RJM don't do the RG-16 or any updated equivalent (that I can see) - which is very odd considering guitarists also want to include replication of their amp's footswitch functions into any switcher. No problem of course if you want to stay on e.g. the clean channel all the time, but a total waste of the amp if it includes other fantastic channels (and features e.g. boost, reverb, EQ etc). I'm wondering what's you thoughts?

Good morning, I was wondering if you would be able to help me...
I have difficulties connecting my Amp Academy to the editor. All the necessary softwares, firmwares and drivers are installed, I have the right cables (its an USB-C to traditional USB since my Windows computer doesn't have a UBS-C port), but it still indicates "Disconnected" on my editor.
I've tried to find the troubleshooting, but nothing solves the problem. I was wondering if you would know the solution?
    Thank you very much,
    Elsa

After seeing these insane new amp modeling wireless gizmo thingies for guitars I thought they must make something tiny like that too plug straight into a midi controller keyboard and give me a b3 sound in my Bluetooth headphones.

    Anybody got any ideas?

I'm not understanding the need for the MIDI Host tho? USB is perfectly capable of handling MIDI and if bus power were an issue? A powered USB hub should do the trick. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I don't have an Amp Academy yet, but I do have a Melloaudio MIDI Commander that I've used with an AXEFX Ultra (via 5-pin cable) and BiasFX (desktop and iOS mobile via USB/Powered Hub).
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The NAA isn't a midi host so you need one of some kind. The NAA USB is just a serial bus, like your laptop.
One solution: the M-Wave midi controller uses the M-Wave MS1 Bluetooth dongle for instance, the controller doesn't have a DIN socket. The dongle connects to the NAA with a typical USB C cable. 4 switches, like the Hotone but thriftier. Thriftiest I believe, usually $35-40US for both the controller and the host.

The MIDI host makes no sense? Why are you using it? You would only need a midi host if one of the two doesnt have usb...otherwise midi is handled over the USB itself. You would only need the host if you had NO usb port on either device.

    • @ThePedalGuy
