7:10 also this will change for you in the future as well ( probably 3 year from now ) because in the south we are building largest airport in the country ever which is located about 20km to the east from Saigon in Long thanh area..... lol so in the future for all your flight international you'll just complain both airport for both city are too far away . Search for Long thanh airport and you'll see, but in order to build big airport and larger terminal we need to move out of city that's why.
I mentioned long Thanh airport and have a screenshot of the distance from the city centre and there you can see the distance. Yes it will be a bit further away but Tan son Nhat is still gonna be operating domestic flights. You have to go all the way to Noi Bai for domestic and intl flights. Long Thanh airport ought to have a train or metro line, otherwise it's a very bad infrastructure obviously. If there's a train or metro then it will be quite fast despite the distance. Also who knows when it's gonna open since everything takes longer than anticipated here. Thanks for sharing your thoughts
well i did the research yes they do have a LRT line not metro line connect to LT airport. and Noi bai also have a metro line in the plan aswell , i know thing are slow in the south ( yes construction are slow SOUTH only ) but Long thanh is country mega project so it's on the prioritize list... well i can trust them on that because prime minister him self say that shiet need to be done ASAP @@perpetuallyabroad
Alright. Thanks again for commenting. Some things I HN that they started on in 2016 are still not completed. Like this article explains e.vnexpress.net/news/traffic/will-hanoi-s-second-metro-line-ever-be-completed-4652260.html. I just hope for everyone's sake that they will finish it on time and not spend decades on building mrt like in Saigon
yeah both line in saigon and Hanoi took a decade long to get ready (but i'm glad that both of them can be in serivce in 2024) ... funny enough they are coming from French and Japan which is the one who's doing those 2 line. while Hanoi only line so far that already been running for a year is done by China which people tend to bash on China but hahah looks who's in service first.@@perpetuallyabroad
4:25 this is kinda right but i don't think Saigon will keep their number 1 spot for shopping mall anymore... Hanoi just opened Lotte west lake which is country largest high end fashion and others big brand mall. you might wanna check that out when you visit Hanoi next time.... but id say for convenient still Saigon is much better because each district likely have a big mall for that district and it spread across the city.... but in Hanoi it's more like you have to go to certain area or district to see shopping mall, but services are generally better in the south because "MORE PEOPLE" so everything is faster.... even though Hanoi has been heavily invested in recent years to the point that their infrastructure is surpass Saigon by a mile.
Lotte west lake looks nice. Whenever Hanoi opens anything similar to Saigon Centre then it will be more even. Also the main point about this is not the shopping malls, it's about in general how it's easier to buy stuff in Saigon esp electronics and furniture etc. As I mentioned it has happened to me actually numerous times where a shop doesn't have the item but it's available in Saigon. I appreciate your comment and insight
oh i went to saigon center one it's call Takashimaya , but don't worry Hanoi will have an actual building and plaza owned by Takashimaya unlike in Saigon where they have to rent the building lol , that's why i said the table kinda turning now since everything that's big and mega tend to be Ha noi first.@@perpetuallyabroad
Can you comment on how easy it is to get around in Hanoi vs Saigon? I've been to Saigon a few times but never Hanoi. Is traffic worse in either city? The bus seems to work fairly well in Saigon and has saved me a lot of walking. Does Hanoi's public transit work as well?
Thanks for your comment. I'd say the traffic in Hanoi is worse now than it was before. It depends but I'd say it's equally as bad as Saigon. I haven't tried the bus in any city actually. I usually go by bike or grab car to get around.
hanoi has better infrastructure ( over head free way , circle drive, underground tunnel ) , also public transit like metro are available ( currently theyu have 2 line )
That's right, bro. I'm feeling more comfortable and freedom lifestyle in Saigon compare to Hanoi. That's why I'm living and working in Saigon more than 10 years
