  • Mayville Oregon was originally a Stage stopped Named Clyde after a local blacksmith then later changed. Mayville included a Mercantile , blacksmith shop, livery stable, flour mill, hotel and a millinery shop by the turn of the 20th century. After a Fire in the late 1920's that took the motel and town gristmill and the the fresh pavement on Highway 19, Mayville's fate was sealed as the unique ghost town it is today. In this video I explore a very unique abandoned ranch just outside of Mayville. This is part one of the project as I've been granted permission to enter many of the buildings in Mayville. Stay tuned!

Good stuff, subscribed and following along. One thing though, a clip on mic would improve audio quality pretty greatly.

Thankyou! Appreciate the feedback. Currently using the media mod for GoPro but happy it has the external jack for a fuzzy more multi directional mic because it’s tough balancing for sure. Also definitely gonna be looking into a clip on. 🤘🏻 thanks for watching!

Nice. Interesting video I'm in Eugene but I love the high desert. Been through fossil quite a while ago but plan to check it out again soon.

Awesome! Definitely consider staying on the fossil motel and rv park grounds here as there is a ton of private property around. Otherwise I’d be happy to point you in the right direction! Tons of great history around here.

Hey there, I'm a local historian and Mayville has been one of my favorite locations for a very long time. I've been trying to get ahold of Laurel for a good while, but haven't had much luck. I'm hoping (with some great luck) to do do restoration work. Is there any chance you might be able to help me out?

The pass through from the porch was for fire wood.

Didn't think of the stove placement in comparison to that door! This guy was clever for sure! I think May have located some relatives so I'll do a follow up vid with more info if I get enough!
