    Thanks for this video. I have had my Artista for about 18 yrs. and never got into the module features. But thanks to RUclipsrs like yourself we can all learn. You are an excellent teacher. Thanks again. I wish I could share a photo of the little make-up bags I made for my daughter's club @ college. I hand-painted them & I embroidered each one with the girl's name & the graduation year.

    Dear Laura,
    Thanks so so much for making this video! I have had my Bernina 165 for over 12 years and I never went back to the shop where I purchased it for the lessons on the module! Now I have grand children and have learned how to quilt! Your French accent is so cute too!! Thanks again! I am going to look for you again on RUclips! Smiles & Smiles of Sewing

      Hello dear Beth,
      I am so happy to see that you found me, and specially that you took the time to write. How great that you know how to quilt, I would love to learn to quilt, I am sure you can make really cute things for your grand children.
      I love my Bernina, it was a present from someone special, and I hope to continue enjoying using it for many more years :) Happy sewing to you!

    As there was no mention of needle, an 80 or 90 is used to prevent breakage during embroidery.

    Thanks so much for your easy instruction. I have always been a bit reticent to use the embroidery module but you have inspired me to give it another try.

    For embroidering I thought a different bobbin holder was needed?

    Hi, thank you for this video. I was given a barely used Bernina Artista 170 and I am in need of advice. It is missing the hoops for embroidery and foot presser. Could you advise me as to what hoop should I start with and what foot to use for embroidery. Thank you so much!

    You put the bobbin in with the thread going the wrong way! When I bought my 165 E they told me to make sure the thread went through the eye of the bobbin so that it has a tighter stitch.

    • @lpockras
      @lpockras Год назад

      Thread is wound clockwise rotation as placed in holder, plus feed the thread through the finger for embroidery.⤵ Page 8 of user manual.
      The bobbin must turn clockwise when the thread is pulled.

    Thanks. I too have had my Bernina for a long time and just decided to start using the embroidery feature. Of course I can’t find the manual or the hoop but by looking at your video I saw that the hoop they recommended at the store is wrong as it won’t fit onto the embroidery adapter. I was actually getting frustrated, but now I feel relieved. Thanks again!

    I noticed that she had inserted the bobbin into the bobbin holder incorrectly also.

    I just bought a Bernina 180. I have no one to ask of help with it. Thanks so much for your tutorials been such a big help! So far I have learned to thread the bobbin, thread the upper thread. Now I had a little more to do with getting software on my computer and hooking up the serial cord to the machine. I am to the point were I am sending the design to the module and I get a error . I have the module hooked up and get the screen with the module and Teddy bear. The screen fades in and out like it is telling me something. I get no responses when I touch either icons. And when I send the design to the machine is said module not responding. Now do I need a card in the Module even if I have my computer hooked up to it? It is the only thing I do not have. I see them on Ebay at 70 and up! Please help....

    Hi, loved this video! soooo helpful!
    I had a question when you change color of the thread for the same embroidery design, do you change also the bottom one? or just the top thread?
    and if you do change the bottom one, how? thanks!!!

    • @lpockras
      @lpockras Год назад

      I am sure you have answered this for yourself, but for others, it is common to use a white 60 thread for the bottom. No, one does not change it.

    I thought the thread from the bobbin was supposed to also go through the hole in the protruding extension off the bobbin case. Does it work just as well without doing that?

    • @MamaNadina
      @MamaNadina 5 лет назад +1

      Carolyn Johnson The hole in the bobbin is used when you put specialty threads in the bobbin, like for bobbinwork. I think for applications of sewing with elastic thread too.

    • @lpockras
      @lpockras Год назад

      Yes, you are supposed to run from inside the finger to outside through little hole, while embroidering. That is what instructions say from Bernina. That is how I have always done it. Adjusts the tension somehow. Page 9 of User Manual Embroidery module artista 170.
      Bobbin thread tension: Insert the thread into the finger of the bobbin (left picture artista 170) or into the guide spring (right picture artista 180) for embroidery.
