Just got mine with the longlast filter today on sale at Target! I watched this video before buying! Thanks for this video😁😁
Awesome!! I hope you like it!
We followed along with this the second I took it out of the box, thanks dad!
Fantastic!
Thank you for taking the time to do this review! Helped me a lot!!
Thank you for this demo, you were very clear in instructions!
Glad it was helpful!
Ive had this one a couple years and I've used Brita for years..love their products. Thanks for sharing Brother. Stay safe!
Thanks, you too!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I watched several videos before I found yours and none of them showed how to set it up. You’re the best!!!!!
You're welcome!
Dad, your doing a great job - I appreciate you.
Thanks, man...
I'm looking to get this exact filter. Appreciate the video. This helps me make up my mind. I will more than likely get this model.
You made an error in the video. The Longlast filters actually filter out much more stuff than the standard filters. The Longlast (now called "Elite") are certified for lead and many other contaminants the regular filter does not filter out. For this reason, I see no reason to use the regular filters at all since they both come out to about the same cost.
thanks for the information!
I specifically came to this video for seeing the measurements, as I saw conflicting info on the product listing, and my shelf space is exactly 10.5” tall. So at 10 1/4” it’s good to to know it should fit. Thank you for providing.
Go with black and the longlast filters (baby blue) works great. Hard water will slow it's filtration but you do know it is working.
Thanks
I knew it was Dad channel the second i seen the tape measure
LOL, I get that alot. Thanks for watching!!
Nice demo! thanks for all the important info. God bless!
Glad it was helpful!
I've had my current Brita Ultramax for about 10 years👍👍. I wonder how often you should replace them.
Such a helpful video thank you for this!
Thank you, cause I thought my filter was broken or something because of how slow it's dripping
So after I filter out the water 2-3 times the next water I put in there and filter out is safe to drink? When would I know when to change it out? Or do I just changed it 2 months after putting a filter in?
2 month or 40 gallons (150 liters) whichever is sooner.
This video saved my water bc the filter wasn’t in all the way and I was ready to return 😂
How many gallons does it hold? I have a 12" long dispenser, this is 18" and it a slightly taller and wider. Mine holds about 1.3 gallons so I would guess this dispenser holds at least 2 gallons (all the way to the top).
Thank you so much for posting this video.
It's my pleasure
So this has been super helpful, thank you! But was just gonna say, idk if it’s just bc you were using a pitcher to pour where I was using my sprayer directly from the sink, but mine filled up completely, in literally under 30 seconds. 😬🤷🏼♀️ Not for sure why on that, we do have the same model lol but again, really do appreciate you making this, thanks again! ☺️🫶🏼
You're welcome
Check to make sure your filter is in correctly. If it fills that fast, it's most likely not actually going through the filter, but along the sides. Did you line up the slot in he back? Did it seat about a 1/8 inch below the reservoir bottom? Hope this helps.
Mine filled up pretty fast as well- I checked to make sure the filter was inserted correctly (did it twice) and it still filled up pretty fast hmmm.
It has no lights to tell you it's time to change? Like the smaller brita pitchers have
Thank you for sharing this information
Is the upper portion also full to the max line?
If you have faucet that can pull out into a hose, you can just turn on the water, directly into the container at a set rate, have the dispenser open and running and let it run for 20 mins. Its way faster and hands off.
Thank you! I thought something was wrong lol couldn’t believe how slow it was going 😕
You're welcome! I thought the same thing too
What I do is I start doing other things around the house to save the anxiety 😂😂😂
Good idea!!!
Question: When running water through the filter the first time, why let the filter sit in the water that will be thrown away? Would it not be better to leave the spout open for the water to drain out?
Yes. Just run some water through it and then start using, there’s no need to throw any away, it’s all in the instructions.
Something is wrong with my filter ,I got one of this last week, the water passes really fast through the filter ,I can taste the water yuck, and the water looks little yeallish, maybe I got a defective filter ? I do have a zero water filter as well and water taste amazing but too expensive.
Make sure the filter is set in there properly too, someone else stated that was their issue.
I bought the same exact product but has an indicator. After watching this video, I pressed the filter to best fit but the water fills so easily and fast and wondering if the filter or the product is faulty. Not sure why the indicator is also meant for
Wait you have to pour the water thru the black part?
How and how often do you clean the spout?
I just got mine today! 🤗
How do you like it?
Why does it say 18 cups and what does that really mean. 18 x 8 oz = 144 oz = 1 Gallon. I assume that is to the top of the filter. My brita dispenser is only 12" long vs 18" so I would expect it to hold 1.5 times my dispenser which holds about 1.3 gallons (filled to the very top of the black section). That would make the ultra max about 2 gallons to the very top. I don't use the filter. Just use the dispenser.
Is it safe to use the water with carbon on plants
That is a great question, no really sure
@@JustADad i found out it was. It was in the instructions
Does it work with longlast? Mine's suspensously fast. The slower it goes the more chemicals it's filtering & the better it's filtering. It should not be fast.
Yes the longlast will work in this one. Thanks for the tip on speed.
(I have the long last filter) Make sure you align it up precisely. I had mine a little off at first. It went down flush but after realignment it went down about 1/4” more. Now it filters very slow because it’s actually going through the filter. At first mine went pretty fast and the water tasted just like my tap water. That’s why I watched a couple videos. Now it tasted much better. Glad I didn’t leave a shit review before doing some research. Hope this helps
It’s agonizingly slow. If you need water within 2-3 hours then forget it. My pitcher came with one, had to throw it out and get the standard white ones.
@@The_10th_Man If your water is really hard it will slow down over time. Out of the box the longlast baby blues are way too fast lol. It is pleat vs carbon. Most people don't rinse their whites enough or soak them and end up with carbon flaking at first.
Very helpful
Glad to hear that
Mine is going way too fast. Should I take the product back?
mine does too.
@@clwilliamsable hey beautiful❤
Thank you for this!!!!
Your so welcome!
Bought one with the long-lasting filters. The water was filtering through way too fast, if that happens and even though the filter looks flush, re-check it, it should be filtering slow not in 30sec - 1min lol. Placebo effect on our first glass that was tap water "yep that tastes better".
Bought the blue Brita elite filter. The fit is a bit strange? The seal is tight but the filter doesn’t sit as nicely as the white ones. Is that normal?
@L0v3Lost I've had no issue, it looks like it fits properly. However, with this brita the filter goes down further like a 1/4 inch, it shouldn't sit flush and line up with the brita. You have to slowly move it around and eventually it'll go down. If you don't you're drinking tap water and not filtered lol.
@@georgevesta1703 interesting. It seems like mine is filtering through as the water is just flowing through it. But the blue filter is “suspended” ie I couldn’t push it all the way down into the insert like with the white filter?
@L0v3Lost Twist it slowly it will push down 👍
I think mine is probably due for a change. But how will I be certain if I’m barely at home and no one drinks the water but myself? How do one determine that?
My question too
I’ve only had mine for a month and it’s been a whole day still NO water? Should I call Brita
I thought that fluoride was.the only thing it cannot remove??
There are so many Brita products. Best to do some research before buying. There have been some good RUclips videos on Brita products.
Brita is actually one of the faster filtering systems pur and zero are much slower
Thank you so much, I was really wondering about those and was thinking of getting them, Thanks!
@@JustADad From what I've seen it takes an hour or over an hour for Pur and Zero to filter through theirs. Brita is anywhere from 8 to 15 minutes. I think it majorly depends on how hard your water is. The harder it is, the harder the filter is working, which slows it down.
@@contingentcat5690 Thank you for that info, HARD water is def what my family wants to filter.
Is it normal for the water to still taste like chlorine mine does
no
What about fluoride
My pitcher has been trying to fill for the past hour. Is that normal? I lifted it up like you did in the video and only a couple of drops came out until I stirred the water
Maybe you need a new fliter, or you just have really hard H2O
I’m looking at the same thing but 27cup
My spout has a tendency to leak off and on? Any suggestions?
Legitimately, contact Brita, I would think their customer service department would be interested in that issue.
Could you give me step by step instructions depth please?
My filter has these green looking dots at the bottom is that normal?
Thanks dude!
Happy to help!
Looks much nicer than the zero refrigerator pitcher, but the zero comes with a water quality meter.
I wonder how that works.
I just bought a Zerowater and going to go with this brita instead. I had a 10 cup brita normal but wanted bigger capacity. I fell in the zerowater marketing, TDS isn't that relevant or an indicator of water quality. Also, their filters break down to a fish/lemon smell apparently and, their filters are much more expensive.
My filter did not seal. The water gets past the filter
Anyone else having issues with slow flow with the premium filter, it seems that it traps bubbles... any suggestions, tips ?
mine gets really slow toward the end
Mine is filling too fast.. is it normal?
the filter may not be seated all the way
Crazy.. None of these videos talk about how to REMOVE the filter! Urrrhghh!
Because that would be crazy not to know how to lift it up 🤣
"BIRITA" lol
sorry about that
