富山県射水市・新湊地区には、1,300 年以上前からの湊町としての歴史・文化があります。全国随一の「獅子舞県」富山。県内最古の獅子舞の記録は、ここ新湊にあります。家々や寺社が密集しており、5月の祭礼の日には、至るところで獅子舞に出会うことができます。
　獅子舞には、古くからこの地域に暮らしてきた人々の祈りや願い、感謝や喜びの形が凝縮されています。長い年月をかけて脈々と受け継がれてきた心意気や技術は、言葉以上に訴える力があります。
　新湊の獅子舞は、とにかく見て、感じてみるのが一番です。
高揚感に身を委ね、まちの英雄たちの演舞・演奏を心ゆくまで味わいましょう。

The Shinminato area of ​​Imizu City, Toyama Prefecture has a history and culture as a minato town dating back more than 1,300 years.

The oldest record of a lion dance in the prefecture is here in Shinminato.
