I’ve said it before and I will say it again, minimum wage is supposed to be a ‘living wage’ where you can pay for rent, food and necessities for a single person (doesn’t include feminine sanitary products) but over time as housing prices have gone up and the minimum wage has stayed the same it’s simply just the basic people have to pay you
A good quality of life is fully reliant on you wage being able to afford rent, food and necessities for a single person (as well as a safe environment) but this isn’t accessible to all people repeating the cycle of poverty

"earn a living" is so insidiously manipulative. Because that rhetoric truly only serves the elite, who withhold all wealth and resources (and they certainly didnt "earn" that level of power).
We wouldnt have to "earn" shit if they didnt gatekeep it from the rest of us.
We also need to unlearn this gatekeeping in our society because we are also perpetuating this exploitative rehtoric. So many people fully believe in "earning your keep".
Imagine a mother saying to her kid "you have to earn dinner. you have to earn staying in this home. You have to earn clothes."
The earth doesnt make us "earn" food and water, it gives us all we need to attain those things. it has always been so until exploitative, colonialist and white supremacist ideologies came on the scene and disrupted subsistence living as basic human communal care for each other.
it is literally anti-life and antihuman to deny someone their needs when theres more than enough to provide them, and to deem some people as worthy of getting their needs met and others not.

I can't tell you how much I agree with the person who wants to make leftist events more family friendly. Parents of nuclear families are one of the most exploited people under capitalism. Through exploration of hard working parents, capitalism got where it is today. Parents need to work hard to maintain themselves and their children, which makes them very desperate and less likely to complain as they would be putting their kids in danger if they were to go through a period of time without a job. Having overworked parents is also very bad for the well-being of children because it disables parents from actually having enough time and energy to take care of their children. Child neglect is arguably a direct consequence of capitalism, a consequence of a parent's desparation to have enough money to maintain their family. If a parent had enough time and energy to be a parent, abuse for punishment would almost not be a thing as the parent would be able to find a way to raise their kids through love, which takes time, instead of fear wich is reliable and easy to maintain through a hard, energy sucking work schedule.

As someone who works at an Amazon warehouse because it's the best paying job in my area that doesn't require me to have years of experience at 19, I literally cannot wrap my head around housing costs right now.
My family is literally on the edge of homelessness despite 3 of us being working adults because housing costs are so dumb and minimum wage is so unlivable.
Homelessness shouldn't be so easy to fall into and it honestly shouldn't exist with how many empty housing areas there are. It's so frustrating when you are about to become homeless and you see other people who are only making slightly more than you acting like it's a choice to be homeless. Like either you're ignoring blatant facts or you are literally extremely sheltered. And either way I'm mad 😤😤
And I ask my mom about how she viewed working and affording things when she was in college or when her parents were in college and she said she was taught that you just did what you had to do to live, so if that meant working 3 jobs to afford things than that was the only option. Not only is that depressing but it's more depressing that my household has a combined income of working 3 jobs and we still can't afford most rent costs without being homeless first 🙄

Weekend Homework: consume a new piece of media that isn't about men. There can be men present if you must, but try to focus on the non-men.
Reading that back I sound kinda condescending too, huh. I hope you know I just mean that you typically have to consciously track that media down.

Brock blushed. "Oh, not much," he said submissvely.
"Please," Alice pressed on, "don't play hard to get. Everyone at least has a hobby."
Brock flushed deeper, his blood vessels engorging, carrying oxygen and nutrients to his whole body in an effort to prepare him for breeding. Alice knew men like the back of her hand: a little attention and every one of them will melt for you. Alice had had boyfriends before, and every one had existed only for her, hung on her every word. Hung in other ways too.
"Wood--I mean--I do a little woodworking," he said, his thick shoulder muscles bending his frame to accentuate their shape. Poor thing, Alice thought, he was trying to impress her.
"Ah," Alice said. "The ancient art of carpentry. I think I've read a few books on that. Have you ever thought of using clamps to hold different boards together?"
"Clamps?" Brock said, clearly enthralled by her gaze. "I don't think I've heard of that before. I'll have to look it up!"
(I don't know, I feel like I'm laying it on too thick, but also that with this particular brand of parody it's impossible to lay it on too thick)

Venting because my landlords suck and so does this rickety ass trailer park
I have bad feelings about where I moved.
I wasn't sent a renewal for my lease (or I was and someone took it because they put the lease renewal in a crack in your door and leave it there, sticking out), so I had to move in very short notice. I'm currently living in a trailer park. I'm going to start this off by saying that I hate the stigma surrounding trailer parks and the people that inhabit them. I've lived in multiple trailers in my life at multiple different parks and the people are usually so nice and polite. However, the stereotypes are true here.
The trailer park is owned by a farmer couple across the road who used one of their fields and turned it into GIANT trailer park, so it's country country all around in a city that is historic for a flour mill.
There is not a SINGLE black person living there, which is always a red flag for me, especially when on the entrance to the park, they say that they are a "family oriented" community and have a giant sign that says "welcome home". My neighbours are literal animal abusers and I had to threaten to call the piggies on one of them because they started beating their dog in the middle of the road.
I don't have the money to move out right now and I don't feel safe here. I don't have anywhere I can stay with friends and I currently do not have a car, so my travel options are limited to my bike.
I didn't even get to meet my landlords, I just met their daughter who gave me a "tour" of the place. (I put tour in quotes because she basically just showed me how to get to my trailer, gave me the keys to the back door, and told me that the front door doesn't unlock so I have to use the back door). My landlords have roosters (because they're farmers) that have it stated in the lease that they have free reign over all of the the park. That's just horrifying to me. They are also VERY aggressive roosters, so I don't trust taking my cats out for walks.
One good thing: The meanest rooster is called "Mr. Cock" by the trailer park residents because well.. he's a dick and a rooster. Therefore cock. That's just funny to me.

20:56 you know what kills me about this? it's how women in this culture are taught to think this way. He's really not wrong about "What she hears." it's not funny: it's true, but he's playing it like it's a joke. We are taught that we are objects and that we should be cleaning the house, taking care of the family, and pleasuring our husbands, all with a smile. A lot of us were taught to want this.
The first one: "The shame of liking what I like and being terrified someone will resent me for liking it"
The second one: "Everyone thinks that because I'm a woman/mother I can handle all the kids by myself"
The third one: "I'm lazy and need someone to get through this to do list otherwise it will never get done"
The fourth one: "My value as a woman is judged by my ability to upkeep the family and the house and I have to be the only one to do it"/"I am too emotional so I have to bottle it up so that I'm not ruining anyone else's day."
The fifth one: "I have to be available to my husband because that is my job as a wife."
As for my own experience (abuse tw): I was pulled out of a chair by my hair or pulled out of my bed by my ankles and then yelled at/beat for being disobedient. I was kicked, dragged on the carpet, choked with my own hair, given a black eye that looked like perfectly applied eye shadow because I was procrastinating on a math assignment.
If you look at my channel, you will see some very violent videos: a lot of the threats being inspired by threats handed out to me for disobedience. Then I was told that it wasn't as bad as what other kids were getting; that he was holding back; that it was my fault for being contentious; that he had exhausted all other options; that I am meant to obey; that how I treat my family is how I will treat my husband.
All of this led to me banging my head against the wall as [he] did unto me fantasizing about running away with whatever current partner I had at the time and becoming the perfect submissive house wife. i.e. everything listed above.
Even in my day to day life even with a partner that loves and accepts me: I still get panic attacks because I want to do something with him or need to talk about boundaries/general support because I have been taught to believe that I (and my feelings/needs) are an inconvenience. I go non-verbal asking for something and resort to talking with my hands(like the italian I am) whenever I ask for anything from anyone.
I guess I want to say thank you for compiling these tik toks: It's helping me work through a lot of trauma, helping me to stand up for, educate, and protect my friends. It reminds me that all is not right in the world and allows me the ability to feel empathy where I could not fathom it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I want to be alive in the sense that moss or fungi or a gentle moonlight night with snowfall is. I want to exist in such a minuscule, abstract manner that people wouldn't even remember me. I want that kind of beauty, that air of comfort and wonder encapsulated under the night sky or beneath a rotting tree.
Recognizing this helped me realize that I'm ace and comfortable with non-binary pronoun usage. Seeing the mountian peaks covered in snow and trees flush with fluffy snow just gives me that want. Sometimes I wish I had existed under a different species if only to ignore how interesting it is to live in this society. Or to escape our knowledge of mortality, even ignore my physical body because its not dysphoria for me. It's just a general sense of discontent.
I wish I hadn't discovered the internet as a child. I wish I was more masculine if only so that I don't get hit on by 50yr old men, or that I could be more comfortable existing in this society. That's just something we have to work towards fixing though.

I love the fact that cats purr. We always seem to take it for granted that a cat will purr if it's comfortable to sit on your lap. It is an expression of joy, safety, comfort and trust that the cat feels when it chooses to rest on you out of all the places. The cat might not express such emotions all the time, but that does not mean it does not appreciate you. Just as you look at it doing it's silly things, it follows your daily actions to not miss an opportunity to once again ask for food. The cat is constantly worried that one day, there will be lack of food, so it has to get as much as it can right now. Cat has a drive to hunt, but it doesn't need to since it's bowl is filled every day. The energy for for hunting is used differently, through playing, climbing on your curtains, doing parcor around your house. Those actions are for hunting but they are aware they are not hunting, it's expression. They are doing it for the sake of doing it. It is self expression at it's finest form. Art. Your cat has it's own complex life, never forget that.

Hi. My name is Chloe ,I'm turning 21 on the 17tg of November, and I'm just now realizing that I have nobody to celebrate with as I haven't made a real friend in about 6 years. I mean, I have neighbors I've had a few conversations with and then embarrassed myself with my stupid disability and haven't talked to since aside from empty pleasantries. I've had online friends that I talked to non stop for about a week and then haven't heard from in over three years. But I haven't had a real connection with a human being other than my mothers (and even that's questionable) since my friend ,Cassie when I was ...14.
I don't think she wants to talk to me anymore. I embarrassed myself so badly in front of her that sometimes I have these 'panic zaps' when I think about her. I pressured her into buying me a bracelet with HER allowence money and then cried in public . She acted more like my babysitter than a friend .I felt like a burden to her . I still do. I don't know why I'm telling you this. Maybe it's because I feel like if someone else doesn't hear this than it doesn't exist? I'm sorry.

Hello Chloe! I know you feel very alone and isolated right now, but i'm here to tell you that it's not going to be like that forever. I am not going to sit here and act like I understand everything that you have been through, but i will say that i relate a lot to what you're feeling. I also didn't have friends for 6 years, and on top of that didn't really interact with people my age either, which really rendered my social skills more than they already where beacuse of me being autistic. But pretty recently (although it doesn't feel like it) i've been able to find two amazing people that i'm grateful to call my friends. Trust me, i know what it feels like to sit there in your room staring at your ceiling and wonder what life would be like not being lonely. I know what it feels like to feel as if you've missed out on life, because you missed out on having friends. I know what it feels like to dread to go to places where you KNOW that you'll see people with their friends and wonder if they ever would have ever chosen you. And i know what it feels like to think "no. They would NEVER choose me, no one have chosen me for 6 years, why would they now?". But i also know what it feels like to realize that that isn't true. That it's never your fault for not having friends. (unless you're a conservative or a cop, then that's on you babe). I also wasn't the most "nice" or "mature" or "understanding" person when i did have friends, which just like you, has made me feel EXTREMELY guilty over the things that i've said and done. But do remember, you are not a bad person. Guilt is a sign that you understand what you did wrong and that you empathize with the person you hurt. A bad person wouldn't care if they hurt somone, or they would and ignore it. I don't know to what extent you went, and that you don't have to share, but i will say that i was a HORRIBLE person back then. And i can and will admit that. But i also recognized that i've gone far and beyond to not be that person anymore. You or anyone can do that to. You are allowed to change for the better. And for those days/nights that you feel all alone, and that nobody cares, remember this: If a literal stranger on the internet can relate and care for you, then the people around you, that love you, ABSOLUTELY can and will. /gen -Your leabian father

And to add, here's some tips at how to create and find healthy friendships and general relationships that I've learned:
•1 It is from my experience WAY easier to find people with commonality and similar experiences in the marginalized communities that you are a part of than not,
(Example, all my friends and i are autistic which makes it WAY easier to communicate, and even when we have issues/experiencees that the others doesn't have, we can stil answer in way more helpful and respectful ways than an allistic person would.)
•2 Set boundaries. I don't care if it's a familial, platonic, romantic or sexual relationship, a healthy one should ALWAYS have boundaries.
And i know it can be hard to speak up for yourself or you may be afraid of losing people around you for having them, but if someone doesn't respect your boundaries then they don't respect you. And you shouldn't keep that around, even if it's less lonely.
People who overstepp boundaries are a MAJOR red flagg, and ofter turn into abusers. Even if its tiny, like you saying that they can't call you a certain nickname.
A boundary that i have with my friends is that they can't rub my shoulders, they are allowed to touch my shoulders, but never rub. I don't know why but i HATE when people do that, it's just so unnecessary and uncomfortable. And if they ever do rub my shoulders they ALWAYS ask if it's okay first before they do, and respect if i say no.
A thing that i do to respect others boundaries is asking if they are okay with physical touch and hugs before EVER touching them.
      •3 No means no.
People often say this when it comes to sexual consent but it aplies EVERYWHERE, if you or somone else says "No i'm not comfortable with that" then that should be the end of the discussion.
•4 people are not always gonna like you and thats okay.
This is a hard pill to swallow, especially if you are a people pleaser like me, but sometimes people don't like you, and it doesn't always have a reason. It doesn't mean that you aren't enough or that you are annoying, it just means that your personalitys are not compatible, and if they decide to act on that and treat you like shit, then that's on them.
•5 Learn to enjoy being with yourself. I kmow this one sounds stupid cause you'll either be like "Yeah, I've done that for 6 years. It hasn't worked." Or "I already do, but that doesn't make me feel less lonely" But trust me when i say, it is very easy to beacome dependant on your friends, putting your self worth and love for yourself into what they think of you. And while I'm completely against the mindset that you can't depend on others for love or care, physical or emotional, and that you have to be completely independent, i do recognize the importance of liking your own presence.
How do i do that though, oh my online consultant?" I hear you ask, Do things that you enjoy, let yoursef enjoy hobbies no matter how "cringe" they might be,
take yourelf out on dates aka making dinner for yourself and watching your favorite show/film while eating it, going to places (if you are physically able to) that you enjoy being in, play a video game etc. it can really be anything as long as you enjoy it.
      How to find friends:
If you are marginalized try finding places that are directly made to be safe spaces for that group aka queer spaces, disability spaces, POC spaces etc that are close to where you live or online.
Try finding extra caricular activites at your school, uni or around where you live. You can also find these places online or find places that have them through zoom (if you for any reason cannot go outside) basically what i'm saying find a "third place" (aka not work/school and not home) where you can socialize safely and find friends.
If you have the capability and energy to work you can try finding people there.
Things to avoid saying or doing would be:
•Never ever EVER comment on how much or little somone eats, you never know what someone's been through and it might trigger a possible ED or make them conscious of their eating habits. If you are concerned that someone clise to you deals with an ED talk to them privately about it, do NOT make them a spectacle and talk about it in front of others.
•NEVER comment on someones self harms scars,
i know you might be concerned but SH is REALLY addictive and can be triggered VERY easily. That person might be trying to recover or maybe they even have recovered, and even just asking about it like "what happened?" Can cause it to relapse. Same as the other one, if you are concerned for the person talk to them privately about it.
Never promise to keep SH or EDs secret though cause that can be detrimental to their life, if you know that it's getting worse, or even happening at all please try convincing the person to get help ore tell someone about it. They might feel betrayed but it's between that or their life.
Hope i've helped! Good luck in finding a friend! -Your lesbian father

Hi Chloe! I understand how you are feeling right now and I'm sorry. That really sucks. But thank you for reaching out! That is really brave of you and you should be proud! I understand I am just a stranger on the internet, but I would love to be your friend! I don't want you to be alone on your birthday either. No one deserves that.
      You're awesome!!!!!

Happy birthday, I'm not sure what is customary where you're from, but here we often say "alles gute im neuen Lebensjahr" when someone has their birthday. Whatever you prefer, have a nice day (and yes I set an alarm on my phone for your birthday)

Honestly the original video felt like a criticism of comments he heard other people say and he was trying to tell other people what their words actually convey? Maybe I’m just stupid

Look i hate libs just as much as you do, if not more, but what you are reffering to as "libs" in this instance are leftist. Also you do know that by commenting and interacting with this video that you are helping spread it and making it apear on more peoples for you pages? Sounds kind of counter productive for somone who is trying to "own the libs"
