Thanks for your review. You are right about this knife. I made this knife my EDC. It's a great little do all knife especially in camp from food processing to splitting wood. I really don't care for the sheath but you have to take the Plus with the minus .
This knife has caught my eye for a while now but I always thought it was too expensive for such a small blade until I bought a Tops BOB which I also thought was pricey until I got it in the mail. The BOB is a strong solid blade right up there with my Gerber Strongarm and after watching your review and realizing it's a slightly smaller BOB I finally purchased the Overlander 2 at a good price from Knifecenter worth every penny👍👍
If Gideons is applauding this knife so much.......it is going into my cart for sure. Nothing but thorough reviews from this guy. How does the Overlander on my person and Bk2 on my pack sound?
Aaron this is why I always watch your channel straight forward to the point honest reviews that we all can count on . you have tops ears can you ask them to put on A sharper blade on there blades is just not up to par I always have to redo them. And its brand new it just doesn't make sense thanks again buddy.

Late to the game but I love my Overlander 2. It’s a great companion blade to my Tom Brown Tracker #1. It’s a solid knife that fits me way better than the ESEE 3.

Bought Overlander first... then got the Overlander 2. These cannot be beat. also just under 4" blade... so its legal in many states. Its just the right >everything< . Well executed. Got them from ecop on ebay....for best $.
An after thought.... this is 3/16" . After many years of seeking 'fat'... I will no longer own a 1/4" short knife. Fine for major outdoor work. But 1/4" is just not good for an edc. With todays superb steels... Im actually considering going all the way back to 1/8" even for edc but never over 3/16" which may well be the optimum. Why not? The least resistance the better.... passing through materials etc.
1/8" is plenty, im with you on this. a knife is for slicing, in reality, and thinner is better 10/10 times. the whole "survival" knife craze has really beat up the true intention and purpose behind a knife dont you think?

This is the first time when I can't agree with your rating Aaron. Even now I think, that: 1. The distance between scales and cutting edge is too big. On my opinion this is useless distance. On a small blade it is critical to use every inch of a lenght. 2. This extending of the tang from the handle is not good. If you need to push on the pommel it will be uncomfortable. 3. Pretty aggressive jimping on the spine in front of the handle bites my hand if I cut with hammer grip. I think if the jimping was situated closer to the tip it was better. Did you have a lot of expirience using this knife without your gloves on? Anyways thanks for sharing! P.S. My apologies for my bad English

Bought this knife and I have to tell you it's too fat for most uses ,ie.. Doesn't stab very well because the tip is too stout, And doesn't slice or cut worth a darn , because the blade stock is too thick
What's the reasoning behind the secondary micro bevels I'm seeing pop up more frequently across all brands? Is it a production cost-saving measure? It seems to me that it would lose its' edge quicker than a regular bevel. I'd rather pay a bit more up front and not have to re-profile.
In a hammer grip the thumb sits in that area without blocking the edge, therefore you can cut right up to the sharpening choil without scraping your thumb,nooks weird but works great.

The previous version was the same size but very slightly lighter, what exactly was changed? For the street price, I would prefer the BOB.

John Campbell Most companies do this to help keep their edge for chipping and leave it up to the customer to modify as they see fit.

Why is the cutting edge so far away from the handle? Thats not good for doing up close, detail cutting.
