It is simply because of how fun the classic rides truly are. They don’t go for sophistication, they choose to make up for that with wild creativity and use of a tight space/budget to entertain you in the best way possible. Same can be said for the Bill Tracy dark rides. They’re fun because of how Bill worked with the way he approached each scene with an artistic touch and a limited scope (such as space/budgeting) to make each scene feel larger or sophisticated than what they are perceived to be. That and come up with unique vignettes (set pieces/figures) to make his rides stand out even if the animation may appear to be crude…
I remember getting on this as a kid and made the mistake of sitting in the front seat…needless to say I begged and cried to be let off before the ride even came to a full stop😂 the operator even joked that he should take us for another ride but I almost broke my legs trying to get out of that damn seat😭
Thats like when I was on Skull Mt at six flags and I pointed to a spotlight and screamed OH NO ITS A PURRRRRRRRRRRRRPLE LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!! and everyone cracked the hell up lol!
I have such a soft spot for these kind of spooky rides. They're not particularly scary or impressive, but they're just fun. That said, I'd love to see someone make one of these, where part way through it stops, and actors tell you to get out of the ride and lead you into an actually scary haunted maze, and send the empty cart back to the start. The bait and switch would be amazing.
This one actual looks nice. Sure, the party lights are incredible cheesy. If you ignore that, you get a ride that's not too short, has plenty of scenes put up and you're not in total darkness all the time, not seeing a thing. It does have its charm.
The last time I was on this ride was 8/14/03………I remember because I was riding it when that 3 day long blackout happened and was stuck on the ride for like 30 min in the pitch black lol
2:00 Imagine you're making out with your partner in this ride, enjoying a few seconds of silence, when suddenly, "AUAUAUAGHGHRRG!!!!! yowch!😫GARARAUUUGH!!"
And I thought only our ghost train in Vienna/Austria in the "Prater" is bad. Light coming from outside from open side doors, uncovered electrical boxes everywhere, "Exit" signs everywhere. Bad dolls, bad animation, lousy sound. So there is no shuddering, just shaking heads in amazement.
every dark ride now requires the disco lights and electric chair.... Its nice everything works / something happens which is rare but its too vanilla I want some zombie gore ha. I like how some of it lights up way too soon then shuts off when the car goes by.
They probably would have done that a long time ago but due to the company that makes the animatronics at 2:07 discontinuing most of those prop they weren’t able to.
I’m looking for some good 2022 quality and all I found is this the sound or a broken jump scares are not scary it’s literally like the zombies that are trapped trap there’s nobody there to Trap them
I don’t know what it is, but there is something charming about these cheesy cheap animatronic horror rides that makes them so much fun
They are classic, and nothing like the classic.
So true.
You hit the nail right on the head. They are just fun to go on.
Oh, these definitely are not animatronics lol. They are Party city decorations on springs, poles, and levers 😂

Idk why, but the abrupt stop of any and all sound after I WILL DESTROY YOUUUU! at 1:59-2:06 made me laugh 😂
My favorite room was the electrical panels. Very realistic!
That’s my local amusement park! Classic park and dark ride for sure!
The Zombie Castle is amazing....Legendary even
The electrical panels in the beginning lol
Love how ghetto it is
Beat me to it! They terrified me 😱😱😂😂
It is probably due to the scariest monsters known: code enforcement! ;-)

scariest thing i saw was all of the electrical power boxes just as you go in. that's pretty scary
Thats like when I was on Skull Mt at six flags and I pointed to a spotlight and screamed OH NO ITS A PURRRRRRRRRRRRRPLE LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!! and everyone cracked the hell up lol!

I love ghost train rides especially when there's animotronics in there
I think the best part is that you can keep seeing the exit signes but they keep turning you away from them. "Are we done?? No you're not!"
I noticed that! I was like oh thats the end....NO THERES NO ESCAPE!!
My mom took me on this and the other scary ride back when I was a kid. She was like face your fears, it’s not scary! And it wasn’t that bad lol 😂
I went on this 2 years ago for my 5th grade senior trip and my friends dared me to flip off every animatronic, all I could say is best experience lol.
Classic and historical park. Great little place right on Long Island sound. If you go try out the dragon coster
I love this old school ones! you have to visit Prater in Vienna, Austria. We have very funny old rides :D
The space is huge, the attraction could have been done in half this space. There is a lot of unused space which mitigates the immersion.
Short, simple, yet sweet!

Every haunted house they make it has the same line,” ILL DESTROY YOU!”
Recently went there. Is very Dusty and couldn't hardly breathe in there..!!!
Cool video
I love that Rollercoaster
My first haunted house. I always cried lol
I remember going on the ride just a few days ago and it TERRIFIED me I literally screamed so loud LOL
I love amusement park place so much!
They all have that ONE guy in the electric chair, don’t they? Lol
This ride is so embarrassingly hilarious!!!
Cool ride, too bad everything is behind gates. Most dark rides enter the track in the other direction, so neat to see it go in on the right.
Nice ride
I think i saw those swirling color lights and strobes at the Spencer Gifts store at the mall years ago.
This was funny I laughed during this ride
Love it!
i would love to see a ghost train with no animatrinics and just pitch black darknees with loud sounds.
Why do we travel through time like the Doctor Who credits and then go to a nightclub, judging from those disco lights?
Bro I was here when you were here😂
The last time I was on this ride was 8/14/03………I remember because I was riding it when that 3 day long blackout happened and was stuck on the ride for like 30 min in the pitch black lol
I’m 10 (girl) and I love Playland! Should I go on the dragonator this year or no? Let me know!
If “it ain’t broke, don’t fix it was a place” Rye Playland is it 😭😭 Them rides been there since 1235 BC but they all work all the time 😂😂
So is the castle a zombie or is it just filled with zombies
2:00 Imagine you're making out with your partner in this ride, enjoying a few seconds of silence, when suddenly, "AUAUAUAGHGHRRG!!!!! yowch!😫GARARAUUUGH!!"
“We have the haunted mansion at home”:

Okay, there is no way that the art in the station WASN'T taken from iron maiden, seriously, that ghost could NOT be anybody else but eddie the head!
Why did they remove The Flying Witch

This reminds me of the new Brighton horror house in wirral UK from the 80s.
I wish they didn't have the monsters behind cages!🙄
So many broken props. What a shame. I've been hoping they'd refurb it for years.
They probably would have done that a long time ago but due to the company that makes the animatronics at 2:07 discontinuing most of those prop they weren’t able to.
Yes first
When i ride this... i was 8 and i couldn't sleep afterwards
godd nice
Disco Seizure Zombie Land
Those are the cheapest looking ride vehicles I have ever seen. I kinda like it.
2:20 SOMEBODY COME GET 'EM HE TWERKIN LIKE A ST------------
I’m looking for some good 2022 quality and all I found is this the sound or a broken jump scares are not scary it’s literally like the zombies that are trapped trap there’s nobody there to Trap them
only thing scary is the dumb exit signs every 20 feet
Seems a lot of the animatronics don't work what a shame
여많아요
That was…disappointing.
Wat
First
Kind of ruins the ride when you see exit signs all over the place. Totally gay
