Long ago and far away when I was getting over a love, one of my BFFs introduced me to a nice guy who liked me. During our conversation and my silly mourning - he reminded me of the importance of "keeping some songs to yourself" the idea is to keep some songs you enjoy and do not think of someone else while listening - this is one of mine:). No words to really articulate how I feel about this lovely, haunting orchestrally infused melody, simply the best - young musicians, listen, enjoy and learn - LOL!

    Simply Beautiful. A masterpiece!!
I went to sleep recording KBLX Berkeley, CA back in 1987. I didn’t play the cassette until I reached DC the next day. I was blown away and fell in love with the song. Well, as time would have it the cassette was no more so I began a 20 plus year search for the project. I was able to find it on CD around 2009 from someone in England. I duped it at least 10 times. 😅 Now I need another CD player.

Much love to all that commented or appreciated Webster's music. He was truly a rare gem of a musician and his music was so heavenly that God had to take him home early cause he couldn't wait to have him involved in the music of heaven. Yes, he was ready!

by far my favorite track of 2019, best musical discovery this year, came at the right time as well, as I lost my mother a few months ago, an absolute monster track, one for the ages of time.

I was at work at Ford plant just surfing music thru my headphones. I'd just heard that a young Chicago rapper that I knew had been killed in Atlanta. I was listening to this beautiful song while getting this terrible news. I love the song, but everytime I listen to it I think about seeing this young Man laying on the autopsy table exposed to the world. I'm sorry if I ruined anyone's vibe, I just had to get this off my chest.

Yes Sir, It sure was. The late Great Melvin Lindsey featured this classic on the "Original Quiet Storm" regularly in 1977 & early 1978. I purchased this album back in 1977 & still have my copy of it. Thank You Webster Lewis for this beautiful "Progressive Jazz" classic. R.I.P Melvin & Webster.

There are only 3/4 tracks 10 mins long and over that give my that tingling sensation, throughout my entire body, " By All Means " Alphonse Mouson, Soul " Box Volume 1 " Grover Washington and this masterpiece. There are hundreds by Jimi Hendrix, but most people are not sophisticated enough to understand that king, so I'll leave him for now. Instagram lovesoul 78_the_funk_punk.
