I miss the days when the Re-fore was the locals playground. We all learned how to drive out there. Mud bogging, time trial races up to lookout point, epic bush parties. Good ol days. This Toronto mentality in Northumberland is awful.
a few months ago my buddy and I were cut off at a T by clowns like this in the Northumberland County Forest. 2 vehicles with lights flashing. It was like they caught 2 criminals. They jumped out of their vehicles and rushed us. Wanted to see all our identification and trail permits. My buddy showed all his and I showed my permit on my phone, he didn't ask to see my drivers license or ownership. It was a huge power trip. We were two guys out enjoying atv's on a trail which we had day passes to ride. We weren't breaking any laws what so ever. We just came to a stop at the stop sign. They were very aggressive and the flashing lights are a joke. Give me a break guys.
Former law enforcement officer here. Under the Off Road Vehicles Act you must identify yourself when asked and I believe this fellow did, We all have to relealize that folks now have cameras and feel emboldened to be an asshole for no reason other than to display your rights. The bylaw officer either needs to drop some paper on this guy or just allow him to go on his way, stop getting into stupid arguements with stupid people. Save the arguements for the court house. Bad tactics on the officer for keeping his hands tucked into his body armour, your going to get sucker punched.
I’ve been stopped several times by K9 security and they don’t ask for any IDENTIFICATION! Just a valid trail pass. And no you don’t need a license to ride the trails. Only if riding on or across a road.
@@DonsATVAdventures we were treated the same way. Total power trip. It's like we committed a serious crime and all were were doing was coming to a stop. Total clowns and actually I could care if I ride there again if I'm going to be treated like this. Nice trails but shitty rental cops on the trail.
Yes can stop you second of all, any officer whether it’s a police officer cop town like cobra police or OPP they have the right for you to prove your identity whether that’s a drivers license health card something that says that you who you are and your insurance isn’t gonna cut it. Sorry I told Desiree go ahead. Come at me everyone. Because I know how immediate loves to attack everyone I’m just saying he doesn’t have all the facts right. But he does have some facts right as well. Pete Fisher does same with this guy. He does have some of his facts right and some fits wrong,. Come at me go ahead I don’t care I won’t respond to anybody else’s comments so you can say whatever you wanna say. I’m just speaking from someone who grew up with the peace officer/also Penn officer and I don’t just work with I mean Kingston penitentiary as well
@@mcaddicts Actually they do have the powers to detain, especially if the person is breaking the law, or refusing to give ID. They can detain until the police arrive. Then the police take over. I hope you have a great weekend 🙂⚘️.
Peace officers do have the right to stop you and put you under citizen arrest my uncle used to be a penitentiary officer, and he was able to be and put people under citizen, arrest as a police officer , they retire they become police officers or when they decide to become police, they can choose the police officers officers and many other forms of it. So I disagree with everything that’s been said so far this click because I had Uncle who was, entry officer for over 30 years who then became peace officer
I commend you for calmly and assertively standing your ground.

I had issues last year. The lady refused to identify herself. I didn't surrender any documents. She wasn't happy.
Thatta boy!
Wanna be cops on power trip. Thank you for standing up to them.

Are they allowed to have red and blue lights on their vehicles in Ontario if they are bylaw officers?

This why you need to practice tax avoidance in Canada as much as possible. Stop funding your enslavement. 🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳
What is the context of this video? Why is municipal law enforcement interacting with this individual?
link to the story is above?
And also I've never seen bylaw run red and blue lights.. amber sure.. never anything else.
Just ride off my friend
I suggest sending this to @Lackluster channel.
Ok. I devoted 36 minutes to this Pete. How did it end?
wondering the same thing

@GettingItDoneRepairs the county actually got rid of those 2 guys from what iv been told by the club thankfully.
Wow these clowns need to be taught a serious lesson on how to do the job that this rider and other tax payers are funding
Hmm. 2 more goofs that got beat up in high school and couldn’t pass the police exam.
Will not ride in this forest anymore. One pass all trails.
Dont let them get away with it.
When did Mr. Lahey and Randy start working in Northumberland Forest??
Call the opp
Imagine how impotent this man is. Look at that gut hanging over that belt.
"peace officers" just like our "peacekeeping" missions lol
If you feel the need to carry some paperwork then you must be doing something wrong buddy grow up
Was that Larry Enticer on the quad? I guess fame gets you a pass with Randy and Mr. Lahey! Just Silly...
Power trippers
Been riding there as of 10 years old no permit nothing no problem, practice all day at the race track
This Peace Officer has the authority to identify you. Give him your documents, shut up, let him do his job and your video would be 2 minutes long.
This guy watching too much RUclips. I know my rights 😅

I agree with you Tina. Have a great day 🙂⚘️.
They have every right to be there.
Well except these guys aren't police they're bylaw officers who have no power to detain.

@donnamitchell7707 No they don't. The ability to detain comes from the criminal code. By Law officers have no authority under the criminal code.
Hmm? Northumberland gestapo ?
Municipal cops on back country road trying to enforce provincial laws. Go figure.
Fun police
