I'm thinking about buying again... Covid sure has wrecked public transportation and thank you for the English subtitles. Good information on suspension and If I'm not mistaken the Ape seems a little bigger. Nobody gives a better review than Tuk Tuk 3-Wheelers this is what I've been looking for.
Thank you Tuk Tuk for these videos I've been watching because I sure need something affordable and so far this Piaggio Ape looks like the best made.
After testing them all I found the TVS King was the best. The build standard is about the same as the Piaggio but it climbs hills better, accelerates quicker and has a much faster top speed than the Piaggio. Also the reverse gear is on the twist grip on the TVS King making reversing much easier.
Its a little bit bigger than Bajaj Re but hard to find Spare parts in the provincial areas as they dont have certified mechanics deployed outside Manila..
You can order TVS parts of Lazada and it is free shipping. TVS are training up mechanics at the moment so it should not be long before they have mechanics nationwide.
Is it easier to find parts now?
In early August 2022 I bought a 2022 Bajaj Maxima Z. I was not aware of other choices such as the King or the Ape. I never drove an auto rickshaw before. So a lot of learning. After owning the Max for two months I find that I know more about it then anyone at the dealership. Would I buy it again? Maybe. But maybe not. Some things I like about it, other things I hate.
It is a problem the lack of knowledge some dealerships have, many of them have done so little research they can not even get their name correct, They call them Tricycles, Triwheelers, Tricabs and many other incorrect names.

My problem with PIAGGIO APE CITY is not the Unit itsrlf. But rather it's Hard to Find Where the PIAGGIO Dealers are in Southern Luzon?!?

I have a few videos that put the Bajaj and the TVS head to head, but have been unable to do it with a Piaggio.

I heard the India assembled/made Piaggio Ape is $500 or so more than the RE is that true or is it closer to $1000 more....willing to pay more for better engineering better built Ape. Suspension is better probably because it was originally designed for Italian cobblestone lined roads plus Italian egineering..the country that gave us the Lamborghinis and Ferraris But any word on the new Piaggio water cooled version or the TVS KING LC?[225cc liquid cooled engine] ?
The Piaggio Ape City is 180,000 peso so almost the same as the Bajaj RE. I think it will be a while before water cooled will arrive in the Philippines.

That's true. Piaggio Ape City's acceleration is slow compared to Bajaj RE 4s. Both has Fi engines. But i still choose Ape because it has smoother ride, bigger space and low maintenance cost.
Not sure if acceleration is slower or it just feels it as the ride is smoother and the engine is not as loud.
probably gear ratio of transmission first 2 gears have lower end to provide more torque better climbing ability is my guess. I would trust the decades of Italian engineering more than the other..the OP here could have gotten BOTH the RE and the PIAGGO into an acceleration test to verify...but regardless I still believe the piaggio is better engineered and considering the price is the same....it would be no question and easy to make a decision.

I never got the chance to get it to top speed, but people tell me it is only about 60 to 65 kph.

I think it is only ab0out 65kph
I did 70kph with my ape 200cc.
