    Oh so true Dear Walter ... it's very hard to let go of all the things that keep us in sin but it's worth all that I have been able to give up ... with the help of the Holy Spirit ... to try each new day to give it all up ... television ... music ... meat ... and on it goes each new day as I wait and watch for our Dear Jesus to return and take us home. I still fall in some ways each new day but I run to HIM an ask for forgiveness because I only wish to be with Jesus in heaven ... that's all that matters to me now!

    4:49 worth more than 1 hour of those who beat around the bush . I have also realised that this has become a new theme in our circles as Adventists. Sin is no longer condemned (not the sinner though)...as a lot of us or some of us are living in sin...and so it has become hard and difficult to deal with it as our children are living in sin as well the adults/parents. But unless we run sin out..it shall find us and we shall not be saved, but as we're still alive...our probation is not closed and we can come back to God once again.

    This argument is both stunning and simple. Devastatingly logical. I wish the professor would take it one step further and discuss sin in heaven. As long as creatures have free will there is a potential for sin. You can remove corrupt nature and remove temptation, but you can’t say sin will never happen again.

      If you refuse to take God at His Word, He will not force you. Then, neither Professor Walter Veith, nor anyone else can make you take God at His Word.
      Please take your unbelief unto Him in Prayer.
      This issue is an extremely serious one and ought to be considered very carefully.
      May I please invite you, and all others who are shaky on the issue of
      "sin recurring in Heaven or not" to prayerfully review the following "What's Up? Prof episodes:
      Episodes #: 19, 29, 36, 56, 58, 62;
      With the Holy Bible at hand. Please open the links to further Study, provided in each lecture.

      The Great Controversy (book)

      It is of greatest importance for all to clearly understand, "The Sanctuary and Its Services." This is imperative to one's acceptance of, and following in the way of Salvation, ... unto Eternal Life.
      Please study more under the Holy Spirit's guidance. The Lord be with you. Be blessed.

    Walter, How does the individual overcome the weakness that perpetuates the sin?

    • @divergentone777
      @divergentone777 3 года назад

      Jesus says that His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Cor 12:9). We cannot do it ourselves! We have to allow God to work within us. We are to grow in Christ, everyday submitting to Him and asking Him to dwell within us by His Holy Spirit. "Being confident of this very thing, that He who has began a good work in you shall perform it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Phil 4:6)
      We are to resist the devil, and he will flee from us (Jas 4:7). If we fall, we need to humbly come back to God, repent and ask for forgiveness again - and for His strength to help us to overcome. This is a battle, but as long as we keep moving forward in Christ, and continue to grow and to overcome sin, we are covered by the righteousness of Christ, and able to stand before God uncondemned.

    Good morning Professor Veith! I'm glad that sinners are banned from heaven, because heaven wouldn't be heaven anymore. To say that everyone will go to heaven is calling God a liar. And why would Jesus need to die if everyone will go to heaven when they die.

    Well spoken. Just a note, very similar idea about sanctification and surrender (fake)self to God actually applies also to other mystical teachings Walter inadvertently dismiss, like hindu's Advaita Vedanta or "islamic" Sufism for example. I'd also like to hear his take on dominican "catholic" Meister Eckhart.

    Professor, does God expect sinners to be completely sinless?

    • @divergentone777
      @divergentone777 3 года назад

      No one would ever get to heaven! When we accept the sacrifice Jesus made for us and humbly come to God, repent of our sin and ask for forgiveness and cleansing, He forgives us. We have this assurance straight away! We are justified before God because Jesus covers us with His righteousness, and when God looks at us, instead of seeing a sinner He sees His beloved Son instead. But it doesn't end there. We are to grow in Christ, everyday submitting to Him and asking Him to dwell within us by His Holy Spirit. We are to resist the devil, and he will flee from us. If we fall, we need to humbly come back to God, repent and ask for forgiveness again - and for His strength to help us to overcome.
      This is a battle, but as long as we keep moving forward in Christ, and continue to grow and overcome sin, we are covered by the righteousness of Christ, and able to stand before God uncondemned.

    I kinda agree with this but there’s much more -:) The righteousness that saves us comes from God and his offer to man is entirely a free gift. Romans 3:28. It is a heavenly garment without a single thread of human division. Romans 3:24, explains the phrase “being justified freely.” The word freely means without any contribution on our part. But more than that, freely means given by Grace. Here we see that the freed apart from the law means that the righteousness of God that saves us is entirely a free gift. This doesn’t mean that we do away with the law but it must be understood that the law was never sent to man to save him, we must be very careful in the way that we explain this because the 10 commandments can do nothing but show us that we are still sinners in need of Jesus Christ Blood and Grace. This is not cheap Grace. We have no right to heaven, in terms of our performance, heritage, or standing before God. God has only one way of saving mankind, and this is through the righteousness of Christ. But Walter Veith is correct in saying that we must keep the law, part of faith is also obeying, see Romans 1:5 and Romans 6:17. I wish I had time for more.

    For most of us the Holy Spirit given by God to All man seems not strong enough to free us from sin... or we as human are not willing enough to let Him govern our life... But in order He can do that, we must die to self like Jesus said that the corn of grain must fall into the Earth or Sin like the Prodigal son also to stand up out of our dead by sin by Him in Newness of life...

    The sinner next to Jesus..Did he purge himself of all sin?

    • @divergentone777
      @divergentone777 3 года назад

      We cannot purge ourselves. We can do nothing of ourselves.(John 15:5) God works in us to do His good will. (Phil 2:13)
      The thief died justified, covered by the righteousness of Christ. His sins were washed away by the blood of the Lamb. He didn't have opportunity to keep on sinning. Those of us still breathing need to continue to be 'cleansed from all unrighteousness' (1John 1:9). If we do fall - we have an advocate who sits at the right hand of God, who lives to make intersession for us (1John 2:1; Rom 8:4)
