Wow.....a couple of doctors who are actually taking their patients seriously and giving explanations that don't insult our intelligence. Great video. I have this problem and my doctors really don't have a clue. Thank you very much for posting this....hope to see more....
too many ppl in the comments complaining about noise. it’s clear that these guys are at work and offering this FREE advice during some sort of break. LETS BE GRATEFUL. Thanks
This is a real thing! I had really bad palps back in 2014 and had a full workup and found no heart abnormalities. I changed my diet and it resolved itself. I still have a few a day but nothing like it was. Back in 2014 the doctors didn't really believe me when I said it was related to my stomach and felt like they thought I was crazy. I'm glad doctors are finally recognizing this is a real thing!!
@@angheloherrera I pretty much follow the low FODMAP diet because I find it keeps my acid reflux under control. That's pretty much it. I do cheat sometimes and that's why I still have the occasion issue from what I can tell.
I used to get heart palpitations since I was just 24 years old. Every doctor thought it was anxiety. But my anxiety attack used to start after that skipped beat, not before. I remember having a lot of gastric issues since I had bad eating habits and the intervals were too long. But nobody related both together. I used to take antacids on my own and it used to make it go away. Fast forward to 2022, I am 27 now, got covid in February. My lungs and stomach were affected, took inhaler.. but since a few days I have excess bloating because of all time acidity. And I have observed that I get heart flutters only when the gas is moving around and causing me discomfort. Since my anxiety is gone, I recognise it as gas which is making my heart flutter. Thanks to this doctor whose videos make it v clear to me! Still I will show a doctor, to get rid of these permanently. It hinders everyday life and it is frustrating. Anyone who suffers like me, hang in there! It gets better.
After having a food infection I was severely affected with gastric problems. Since past 5 months iam suffering with gastric problems. I started to get heart palpitations also. When I consulted doctor they said it was due to anxiety. I also have vitamin d, b12 deficiency which I got form infection. Actually it is very difficult to deal with heart palpitations
I’ve had the bloated and palpitation problems for about 2 years since the pandemic started went tot he doctor ran all type x rays scans drew blood from me and they said I was fine that it could be stress ..then last year I had covid and noticed that it got worst after I’ve had covid I went to smoke marijuana and after sometime after I finished smoking I started feeling like I wasn’t getting enough air and got super bloated to the point I couldn’t release this gas or burp it out to the point a panic attack and anxiety started kickin in making me feel desperate and making my heart beat super fast because I wasn’t be able to breath and I thought I was going to die to the point I was slowly fainting ..then I realized that after that I couldn't smoke marijuana or smell second hand smoke drink beverages with gas or eat spicy foods after I had covid I would literally start getting slowly bloated and feeling like a shortness of breath and anxious and panic The only way I would feel relief it’s when I would release or burp this gas trapped in my stomach its such a wack feeling don’t wish this upon nobody I just wanna find a cure and live my life normal again I live in fear because I don’t know how explain to my doctor and gastroenterologist I just want to live my life normal again I smoked marijuana for a long time and never had that problem I just wish I was normal again
You sir are a god send. We need more Drs. Like you in the US. You are helping so many hopeless people like myself. Thank you! You are truly a saint. From my family and I Thank you!
wondering if anyone else has found that poor posture, sitting still for long periods during your day, habitual nonengagement / deconditioning of abdominal muscles seem to be related to the bloating issue as well. I find that recognizing the initial feelings in my body then correcting alignment and posture and engaging the abs gives me more conscious control and allows me to release the gas. It's an empowering feeling.
For sure. I am 72 year old female. Have had afib for 3 years. "Squishing" the gut/heart area has been a trigger for me and slouching posture as well. A lot of people as well as myself cannot sleep on the left/heart side either.
This represents a major breakthrough in the understanding of issues connecting the stomach with the heart. In my long history of symptoms such as bloating and heart rhythm coincidences, responses by GPS in general as well as two cardiologists has been one if open skepticism or downright denial of such links. These two truly splendid doctors seem to have a true grasp of the complexity of personality, it’s fluxes and paroxysms and the effect such turbulence has on the whole body and mind. It’s a tremendous thing yiu two are doing. Professor EC
I am suffering from this exact problem. I'm having huge issues with my GI tract and the doctors don't know what's causing it. In the mean time, my blood pressure has been mysteriously spiking for no reason out of the blue. It's very scary because I never put the connection together until watching these videos with you and Simon. I believe my bloated stomach/intestine is pushing on my vagus nerve and causing my heart to go haywire. When I spoke to my doctors about this they just brushed it off. I get so mad when doctors won't hear you out or consider alternative suggestions about your health.
@@tamaraparker7133 TRY being in menopause and having ALL of this happening......Makes yo u almost want to see a BUGS BUNNY MARATHON...to actually feel as if it isnt that BAD !!!!!!!!!
Twice now I’ve woken up around 4am in the morning with a rapid heartbeat. And what I found, on getting out of bed, was a need to belch, and I belched a few times, sensing acidity at the back of my throat at the same time. Within 20 minutes or so my heartbeat went back to normal, and I went back to bed. I’ve noticed this connection between a bloated gut and increased heartbeat enough times to know that that is what it is - a connection between bad eating habits and the activity of the heart - resulting in an increased heartbeat.
I had same.... I would always bloat after eating, feeling so miserable. Until I would just lay down and massage my belly and all the air would come out. I totaly feel fine after. I dont have this anymore after taking enzymes, pro and prebiotics and have more but smaller meals. It also took out the palpitations and flashes of anxiety I could get, like you in the middle of the night when my stomach would feel empty except for gas. My stomach would also feel empty right after I had been eating, it was totally having its own mind. Went to ER few times to have my heart checked, it was always fine and I got sent away with the message to relax more, take melatonin to sleep better etc. In other words it was all in my head. But saying no it was always in my stomach, they didnt want to take that from me.
Thank you for the video. I am 46 year old male. I have never had issues with palipitations or anything up to 2 years ago. I get palipitations often now, sometimes to the point i drive to the hospital ER just to be there in case it gets out of hand. To cut to the chase though, 8 of the 10 times i have gone to the ER i complained about bloating and heartburn along with the palipitations. By the time I go to the ER my stress, anxiety levels are through the roof to the point my Heart rate was 160 bpm. ER dr tells me I have afib. I have had many cardiologist tests over the last 2 years everything checks normal. Even when I'm in the hospital on the monitor you can see my heart rate skipped beats on the monitor but the ER doctors say they are in range and there is nothing to worry about. Thanks to your video I understand there is possibly another root cause of these palipitations in the first place. I thank you so much for the video and I will see other doctors for gastrologist for hope.
This is such valuable information, but it was hard to hear with all the background noise. You have helped me enormously to turn this thing around and finally have a quiet heart and quiet digestion for the first time in 10 years. Plus, I read “The Acid Watcher Diet by Jonathan Aviv, MD, and followed his advice which has stopped my gastric reflux that I didn’t know I had because I never had heartburn. Thank you, thank you, thank you a million times for giving us understanding about the digestion, heart and vagus nerve connection because most doctors don’t have a clue about it.
I have really appreciated all of your videos, especially palpitations and stomach involvement. Thank you for taking the time to produce them. You are truly doing a huge service. I am in the US and my docs are denying that stomach could be affecting. I am now working with a functional medicine doctor, a new category here in the US, and I am hopeful.
I've had this 10 years still not dead 😁 these two helped me work it out. Worse when stressed tired led down.. dirty tricks via the vegus nerve.. spot on spot on and spot on all the way through. Thank you guys for helping all of us.. !!!
I have had palps...ever since I entered the change of life.....it sure did change me...got palps and health anxiety.....didnt help that the cardiologist...thought that I have arrythmia and nearly wrote B P meds for nothing....but its ben 10 years and I am still here...............COMPLAINING...These 2docs took a ton of worry off my back...I wish that we all get better real soon !!
I'm one of those people who get heart palpatations when I bloat. I also have noticed I become highly anxious too. Once the bloating subsides, both problems resolve themselves. I now avoid carbonated beverages and eating plants that cause bloat. Dairy is also a trigger for me as are artificial sweeteners. Thank you for the video, at least now I know it's kind of normal, or at least not uncommon.
Definitely a correlation between Gerd, bloating, hypertension and arrhythmia! I have the same problems as you. I'd wake up in the night, often due to apnea or a bad dream. My heart rate will be racing (BP is up) and anxiety because of the rapid pulse and that makes everything worse. I started noticing that this happened when my diet was poor, like being on vacation and eating greasy pizza. I've had to first realize what's going on, take deep breaths (that really does help), walk around a little bit to help the reflux, then Prop myself up some, and go back to sleep. Realizing what's going on is half the battle. Eating Tums at bedtime helps too! (I'm slim and athletic and eat healthy most of the time. I start having problems when diet starts to slip). Be blessed!
@@717adventures5 You don’t have too much acid in your stomach. You need the acid that you have so Tums is not a good idea. Read “The Acid Watcher Diet” by Jonathan Aviv MD. I followed his advice with diet and all my symptoms are gone that I have had for 10 years. I didn’t follow his recipes so much but I cut acidic foods out of my diet, and it was like someone flipped a switch. All the symptoms were gone, and still are.
@@suehamblin9652 Thank you for looking out for me! I'll definitely check it out. I've stopped with the meds about a week ago. I've done MUCH better, but I tried a meatball sub a few days ago and that messed me up. It's definitely fats that irritate my reflux
@@717adventures5 I hope it helps. One other thing that has been HUGE in helping me is to eat several smaller meals throughout the day instead of fewer large meals. An overstretched full stomach is bad news for gastric reflux. If I may give you one more incentive to change your diet … esophageal cancer is the fastest growing type of cancer in the US and it’s caused by gastric reflux. The acid is the culprit and it really does a number on the lining of the esophagus. I didn’t know I had it because I didn’t have any heartburn. Now I’m on a mission to heal my digestive system and I’m feeling MUCH better. All the best to you as you work to improve your health. We are what we eat.
@@717adventures5 I don't believe it's the fats. Most fats are good for you. It could be the gluten in the bread. Or the acid in the tomato sauce. Sugar and gluten are usually the culprit.
Exactly what I have been feeling lately! I have health anxiety too so it makes it feel so much worse.... awesome videos! Wish I had a dr like you guys!
@@johnnyflores1978 Digestive enzymes did nothing for me. I avoid eating plants and have removed dairy and carbonated drinks from my diet. I eat a predominantly Carnivore diet now. That has worked wonders for me.
@@RachaelARaines I agree, digestive enzymes don't help. What has helped me is watching my diet , no dairy, no gluten ensuring I get my micronutrients by eating stuff like chia and pumpkin seeds and most of all relaxation and yoga.
Simply outstanding. This vid confirms my suspicions about the stomach and palpitations. Ironically, my palpitations began not long after switching to a high fiber diet, whereupon I lost ten pounds and had a very flat stomach. But, later my stomach began bloating from all the fiber, and the palpitations started and continued almost non-stop. Reason for the high-fiber diet? I had to get very "regular" so as to avoid irritating my prostatitis. What a mess!
I was the one from your last facebook live who kept on saying I have severe MVR / GERD and hiatal hernia. I am really confused when my symptoms are coming from the heart and when they are coming from my hernia. You are truly God-sent, Dr. Gupta.
Sorry I can't remember if it was mentioned here or on facebook live as I've seen this a month ago but he definitely mentioned it. Hernia can be one of the causes as it can irritate the vagus nerve which can have an effect in our breathing and also causes palpitations. Although it is better checked by a specialist as there can be a lot of factors. Like my heart valve issue. Can also be from thyroid problems and anxiety/panic disorder :)
sandy72300 thank you!!! yes I have anxiety and panic as well as GERD and the hernia, and my heart has gone through the whole work up and totally fine..! crazy that hernia could be contributing
I keep getting a cough that goes on four bout 6 to 7 months at a time it goes a way four 5 months then come back bout 6 months later. The cough happen every year bout Spring time. I was getting chest pains on and off and I keep complaining of swelling feeling in my through. I was send four a camera Down my through in to my stomach. I had a surprise to find out I had a Hiatal hernia. I am 32 and I can't believe it
I have GERD and have been taking nexium for years. If I miss two or more days of nexium I’m screwed up for at least a week. I feel bloated and have the sensation of a fist pushing up from my upper GI tract into my chest. If I crouch down, bear down on the toilet or otherwise put pressure on the area during this bloating I feel VERY noticeable palpitations/skipped beats. I’ve also had two epsiodes of afib, one in 2018 and one in 2020 (12 hours and 20 hours respectively). I don’t recall if I had bloating when the afib hit but I’m positive it’s GERD related. I’ve had it since at least 2015. Have had two echos of my heart and I’m told it’s in perfect shape. Big thank you to the docs who are looking into it. It fills me with hope!
Loved it! Im very happy I got to this Video not many doctors will explain to you Whats the cause of palpitations for many years I was trying to know exactly what was my cause of Palpitations after my meals I saw one cardiologist and He never explained to me the problem I was thinking more as if he was ignoring me. Most of them all they want to give u are medications And thats not The case and not the only alternative Really these Days are so Hard to find Good Doctors GOD BLESS U GUYS!!
Wow! Excellent explanation that makes so much sense about the connection between a full stomach and heart palpitations. I can rest easy knowing that eating a lighter meal can make big difference in staving off palpitations. I can already notice the difference..Also noted the recommendation to stay hydrated! Thank you so much.
I have a large parastomal hernia and since I’ve put weight on I get PVCs often. They terrify me & are usually at night. This theory makes so much sense! Thank you for sharing.
Story of my life. I have been having palpitations for the last 12 years. There is a definite stomach connection and now that my digestive condition has gotten worse over the years my heart palpitations have increased to the point that if I eat a burger at Wendy's, I wake up in the middle of the night with tachycardia. I was at the ER last year for three hours with a high heart rate. It's ruined me honestly. I'm constantly living in anxiety over my condition. I am headed back to my cardiologist soon.
I suffered from palpitations and ectopic heartbeats after I was diagnosed with gut candida overgrowth and H pylori. Thank God I came across this channel last year because I thought I was dying.
I get stomach bloat, heart palps, heartburn, and I have difficulty burping or passing gas weekly. Then my heart races, and I think I'm going to have a heart attack.
dont worry m8, its cus ur vagus nerve gets compresed. also a good way how to indicate it comes from the stomatch is if u get the same palpatations when u lay down on ur tummy or left side. and also, if every time u start getting those weird palpatations u start feeling that burpes are coming or something like that, it also indicates, that ur vagus nerve is compresed my gass that is stuck and pushes the nerve
I'm sure a proper diet will help. Don't you feel better when you're hungry? I do and it stops the palpitations. I try to eat just twice a day; once in the morning and once in the afternoon. I try not to eat at night or if I do it's only veggies or a fruit.
Great channel, Dr. Gupta! I like the concept that you're doing of short, insightful and informative videos about common things patients' experiences that are not talked about much (e.g. GI and Cardio interplay). Great idea. Keep it up! -Justin
There are a few components to natural cures for heartburn. One plan I found that successfully combines these is the Alinn heartburn relief (google it if you're interested) it's the most incredible blueprint that I have ever seen. Check out the extraordinary info .
Thanks for this video too. Sometimes I feel that pressure and hope it is the food in my tummy digesting. I am new to heart flutters, been through the tests regarding my heart and am scheduled for an ablation soon. Its reassuring to watch your videos to most likely confirm my suspicions that the pressure is not my heart, but my tummy. I had a gastric bypass many years ago and sometimes worry about these type of stomach/heart connections. I end up having some gas so that is also actually reassuring. I am getting a lot from your work here and appreciate your efforts to help "the common person" basically, to better understand our situations. Thanks again.
Very helpful...thank you for posting this...I've had ectopics since August it's now almost Jan 1st...and I've noticed they started when I put on weight and began to feel bloated everyday....
Stomach is the third heart. I have experienced some GI discomfort and heart palpitation recently since continual 3 days of 10-16 hours shifts without eating regularly. I found this video today. Well said. Thanks!
Very interesting video as my friend suffers with bloating on a regular basis. I will ask him to view your videos and and make note of your advise. Thanks so much for your time . Two wonderful Drs.

Thank you so much. Good to know there are such caring and genuine doctors out there 💜As a sufferer of af and ventricular fibrillation caused by digestion problems. More needs to be recognised about how debilitating these conditions are Before having the ablations I used to feel very ill not being able to do hardly anything physical. Which made me feel very depressed. Doctors should prescribe a 7 day heart monitor in order to diagnose af. Because a 24 hour monitor doesn’t always pick up an af episode. Which is much more serious than an odd palpitation here and there. I count myself lucky to have had a 7 day monitor and was prescribed blood thinners, otherwise I could have ended up like my late husband who had misdiagnosed af And had a fatal heart attack thanks again for taking this condition seriously.
Excellent video, I get ectopic heart beats just after I've eaten. Always feel bloated and that makes them worse. I hate it, it's so scary and you never seem to get used to them. Thank you for trying to make sense of it all.
It's now 2021. When I asked my cardiologist if there was a connection between my GI tract and my palpitations, he brushed it off with a "no relation at all." American physicians have tunnel vision and by and large ignore anything that doesn't fit within their paradigm. God forbid a patient question them, after all what do you a mere know in comparison to them?
I've been to the Dr's for so many tests for my irregular heart rythem. I have now noticed the patterns of when my irregular heart rythem occur. Mostly after a big meal. When stressed. When I have the urge to make a bowl movement. I am four stones overweight with a bad diet. I now eat more salad and try to walk more. Feed my mind with positive thoughts. It's helped me but I have to be mindful or I get chest ache and irregular heart rythem. Noticed my socks leaves an indent in my ankle from swelling. So one minute I think it's my Vegus nerve and stress...next from swollen ankle to chest ache I think it's heart disease. Kinda confusing. I'm just working on my diet and mental wellbeing for now and not stress that it might be heart disease although hospital x rays/ test show I have "electrical fault" of the heart. God knows really. I'm not taking beta blockers or anything. Just focusing on lifestyle change.
Your body is holding water, that means you are dehydrated, you need the electrolytes. Change your diet. Watch for starches. . I have had the same problem. Walk a lot to improve blood circulation.
I liked this video and would watch another one on the same topic. I find relief from the bloating by avoiding bread and pasta, and especially avoiding tomato sauces. I can eat a full meal if I do these things. My doctor had no answers. He thought it might be anxiety.
I’ve been saying about the vagus nerve for ages. My stomach issues and palpitations seem to have some links. Maybe not the whole picture, but definitely connected.
I'm more than grateful and honored that you are sharing all this amazing knowledge with us about heart palpitations. I have a question I hope you may be able to answer for me if that's okay?
Video posted 3 years ago. I cant believe drs dont know there's links between the 2. I have a hiatal hernia, ive just eat breakfast.. stomch bloated heart went crazy. 98bpm thumping palpatations.. threw up stomch totally emptied. Whoch really hurts as it has to get past the hernia. What feels like a lump ij my throat, stops me burpibg the lot. Soobas it all came out palpatations stops and hearr reated went back down. Ive even been wrongly diagnosed with Afib, due to wsking up taking a big drink of fizzy pop and heart went haywire. My problem i find... drs to NOT listen ti what ur saying. If you say youve banged ur head they will check ur feet. I would LOVE to get a gastrologist like him, impossible to find.

Wonderfully helpful video. Your previous explanations explaining the role of the Vagus Nerve in palpitations have been very informative and I very helpful, Dr Gupta, and this video adds to our fund of useful information!
Taking this into consideration would not this also apply to people with SIBO ? One of the main symptoms of which is bloating from the bacterial overgrowth in the small bowel . According to recent research IBS is now almost a defunked term as 75% of previous diagnosed IBS patients are actually suffering from small bowel bacterial overgrowth (check out Dr Pimentels research from Cedars Sinai . Disturbingly people with long term SIBO have an 80% greater risk of heart disease
Amazing content! I had an ablation and had no issues post surgery and then 3 months later had increased ectopics which aligned perfectly with a week where I was burping/belching a lot. Since taking magnesium which seems to have settled my stomach (and in itself is great for heart health) they have settled.
No the ablation was successful but one can get increased ectopics as a result of the procedure. The abnormally fast SVT rhythm has not returned which is key.@@crisbio
@@glamapandacapital In my case, they are sparse during the day, guess is stomach related , but it is every day and uncomfortable. so ablation is on the agenda
Great stuff!! My ectopics seem to be triggered when I take deep breaths or deep breaths while I'm hunched over. I get a lot of them when I'm doing Yoga, which requires a lot of heavy/deep breathing while in stretched/hunched positions. Maybe you could go into detail about the connections with the lungs and palpitations?
My ectopics started last year while doing Pilates, like yoga, deep breathing is involved and holding the breath, started a chain of worrying which made it worse, now that I'm more relaxed, there not so noticeable. Caused me lots of stress because you start thinking it might your heart, had 24 hour monitor and ecgs, and seen cardiologist, all ok. These videos are a tremendous help.
Wow your comment is what I told my doctor yesterday but it doesn't happen all the time so you can go to the doctor and he';; say ok show me and nothing happens.
Gosh that's me! I live in Essex and I'm getting nowhere with my Atrial Fibrillation and SV Arrhythmias. They've diagnosed it and done nothing since February. Next appointment in November I'm going to mention my bloated stomach yet again but they won't listen to me, even though I'm thin. I'm not a fat person so I was sure there was a link. I'm thinking of moving to York, you guys are brilliant, thank you.

For me this is only been within the last month or so but I had issues with a Mercury tooth that was causing me problems. I had that removed but because of the mercury poisoning in my gut my gut tends to swell worse than it ever has. If I eat raw foods such as fruits and vegetables I have no problems. If I eat cooked food and I also you very organic IHOP to eat very small meals or I bloat I start having heart palpitations it is truly very uncomfortable because you feel like you can't breathe. The reason why I knew it was related to my gut it's because as soon as I ate and it started I immediately made myself go throw up and it relieved the symptoms a hundred percent... my situation has gotten better but it says that it can be 3 weeks Mercury tooth removed so you can still experience issues. I am a very healthy person and never before have I experienced this type of issues. And learning how to control my body is amazing. Aloe vera fresh aloe vera gel made with distilled water has truly helped my bloating. I do this at least two to three times a day. Do not buy the junk they premake for you that is all about profit for the company not healing for humans. You need raw aloe not any other b******* added to it and it needs to be non-irradiated..
I have digestive and nervous issues plus palpitations. I do have a lot of stress, but one of my biggest stressors is my illness and also what is happening there above my stomach. It feels like heart palpitations, but many times the beats don't match with the ones in my neck. Actually it sometimes feels much faster like TREMBLINGS or QUIVERINGS...or "scary rumblings" with skips maybe? Is it my vagus nerve going CRAZY or what? It's continued many times a day for years and drives me CRAZY. It started after a mold exposure and an accidental epi-pen. It's worse when there are vibrating noises around me.My last EKG was o.k. Can you give me a clue? Thanks..
I have autoimmune gastritis and during a flare up it causes really bad palpitations and racing heart rate. There is also pressure in my chest and its so scary, feels like I'm having a heart attack and the anxiety causes my heart rate to race even more. This has been happening for years but after getting my gallbladder removed its gotten worse. I know its from the stomach but when its happening its very scary and all reason goes out the window. This happens after heavy, fatty meals, carbonated beverages, caffine and for me after taking certain vitmains like vitamin C or zinc that are hard on thr stomach. Some providers told me my stomach is acting up because of anxiety, but i think the anxiety comes from having stomach and cardiac symptoms.
I've had palpitations after meals for many years. I've asked several cardiologists about it and all except one just shrugged. The one who didn't just came up with some explanation on the spot but it was apparent he had no idea.
I have a few different (benign) heart rhythm issues, but there is a particular one (short runs of tachycardia, lasting less than 5 seconds usually), that is almost always succeeded with audible gas movement around and between my abdominal and thoracic cavity. That one isn't too bad, but much more research needs to be done to help people suffering badly with this affliction.

It was the most uneasy feeling ever. I thought it was aheart attack and called 911. Lucky there was an ambulance nearby so less then 2 min they had me on stretcher and placed a pill under my tongue. I don't know what it was but it made me feel much better. Paramedic said it was dehydration but at er they said it was palpitations caused by arrhythmia. It was not a heart attack but It could have just as easily turned deadly. All types of arrhythmia are a lot more dangerous then most people think. I
Exactly, Sanjay. Heal the body overall, by eating a whole food, plant based diet, and the weight will come off and those problems that have names will get better.

I hated this issue. Stopped eating about 6 hours before bed and have zero issues now. I start the day with a big meal and a pretty big lunch then that last meal is prettier moderate in size and far from when I go to bed. Has helped me loads
I stopped eating dairy 10years ago,my heart was pounding ,rythm was irregular,I was often scared.doctors didn't have any clue, now days it's at minimum,I also get it when I get very frustrated or miss a meal and my belly starts growling and I ignore it
I have palps too. Bloating and positional changes tends to aggravate them. Heart is OK, Had several monitors. I also have IBS. I've had treadmill tests, ect. I'm having them right now, actually. My electrolytes are normal. I'm not sure what is going on, but I feel that something is compressing the heart, making it generate PAC's. I've also had an occasional Afib /arrhythmia once in a while. I hate having this issue, but I can't seem to do much about it. Beta Blockers don't work. It seems, as I am getting older, it's becoming more and more common and frequent.
I have been trying to tell my doctors this for so long now... my digestion is causing my heart palpitations, rapid heartrate and arhytmia. Whenever I get hungry or have just been eating I get palpitations. I bloat like a pufferfish gets insane jealousy. They never ever look into my digestion. Got to find that out myself. By taking vit B12, B1, enzymes and probiotics I got it all calmed down, but Im still so sensitive dietwise. The only moment I feel well is when I wake up and my stomach had a rest. But fasting longer than 14 hours the palpitations come back.
Wow.....a couple of doctors who are actually taking their patients seriously and giving explanations that don't insult our intelligence. Great video. I have this problem and my doctors really don't have a clue. Thank you very much for posting this....hope to see more....
I wonder how many of us there are?

This is a real thing! I had really bad palps back in 2014 and had a full workup and found no heart abnormalities. I changed my diet and it resolved itself. I still have a few a day but nothing like it was. Back in 2014 the doctors didn't really believe me when I said it was related to my stomach and felt like they thought I was crazy. I'm glad doctors are finally recognizing this is a real thing!!
What food do you avoid
What is your diet ?
@@angheloherrera I pretty much follow the low FODMAP diet because I find it keeps my acid reflux under control. That's pretty much it. I do cheat sometimes and that's why I still have the occasion issue from what I can tell.
@@hopegaming867 Low FODMAP foods. This has been a tremendous help in my struggle with the "skipped" beat issue.
so basically problem is with your stimach right?
Try loading up on fiber and perhaps check for any allergies to certain foods
@Ruby Thank you so much for sharing your story. Can you also share what’s your diet like today and anything you do to keep the palpitations minimal?
I’ve had the bloated and palpitation problems for about 2 years since the pandemic started went tot he doctor ran all type x rays scans drew blood from me and they said I was fine that it could be stress ..then last year I had covid and noticed that it got worst after I’ve had covid I went to smoke marijuana and after sometime after I finished smoking I started feeling like I wasn’t getting enough air and got super bloated to the point I couldn’t release this gas or burp it out to the point a panic attack and anxiety started kickin in making me feel desperate and making my heart beat super fast because I wasn’t be able to breath and I thought I was going to die to the point I was slowly fainting ..then I realized that after that I couldn't smoke marijuana or smell second hand smoke drink beverages with gas or eat spicy foods after I had covid I would literally start getting slowly bloated and feeling like a shortness of breath and anxious and panic The only way I would feel relief it’s when I would release or burp this gas trapped in my stomach its such a wack feeling don’t wish this upon nobody I just wanna find a cure and live my life normal again I live in fear because I don’t know how explain to my doctor and gastroenterologist I just want to live my life normal again I smoked marijuana for a long time and never had that problem I just wish I was normal again

wondering if anyone else has found that poor posture, sitting still for long periods during your day, habitual nonengagement / deconditioning of abdominal muscles seem to be related to the bloating issue as well.
I've noticed posture is a trigger and even leaning back in a recliner crooked can trigger (leaning left).

I face same issues nowadays any help?
@@NikkusChannel you have to somehow relieve the bloating. That's the key.

Been dealing with this for a month straight.. :(
What have you been diagnosed with?
But saying no it was always in my stomach, they didnt want to take that from me.
could be silent reflux from a hiatel hernia and irratates the vagus nerve( our nervous system)
Yes, I’ve had the exact same situation and solution…
@George Swift Sir have you tried probiotics ?
Yup I got this. Check my pulse and heart beat pauses usually after bloating

WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST?

Gupta.
sandy72300 did he mention that hiatal hernia can cause palpitations? i was just diagnosed with hernia and very curious

Thank you so much for sharing your expertise with us! Most doctors seem to think we wouldn't understand so don't bother to tell us.
thank you!

Hey guys do you all have scoliosis at T3/4? I had deep breathing trigger too. I was told scoliosis may affect it.
Sue Condon...as you have discovered the NHS is getting worse every day,My Cardiologist told me he would arrange some tests in 4-6 weeks....15 weeks later (after many phone calls) letter come to say my appt will be in 3 months time.....
So Grateful! God Bless you both! Wonderful men!
Dr Gupta I would love to hear what u have researched on the heart and intermittent fasting (IF). Love love love ur channel & u mostly💕🧘🏻♀️💕
mostly tachycardia is due to a presence of some bacteria present in stomach. whenever we go to doctors they give us beta blocker.
And anxiety is other reason too
Right... beta blocker is worst solution
How would I deal with bacteria in the stomach?
@@paulworgan6599 sorry I wrote bacteria. I meant to say germs. That would be H pylori. It's treatable but not curable. Anybody who has it have to take medication. Luckily I don't have it. 4 years ago I didn't know what's going on with me. Now I reversed everything whatever was going on with me. For tachycardia it happens when there's some infection in your body. So treat that it will go away. In my case it was my stomach.
@@SohaibKhanLodhi I think there is a link between my Atrial fibrillation and my stomach at the moment my upper abdomen is really swollen and taut especially when I move about my chest and arms and legs tighten up as well even just moving across the room is unbearable I become even more dizzy weak and nauseated and find it really hard to breathe sometimes it makes me panic because it seems no matter how hard I try I just can't get enough air it's become unbearable , they x-rayed me to test me for congestive heart failure about three months ago apparently there are no signs of it good news but now I'm trying to work out why I feel so I'll, one thing is I have been drinking alcohol when I shouldn't have been.
Very useful information! Thank you so much to both of you. I think I have this problem, due to may be eating certain food or stress or hormonal imbalance I feel some nerve (Vegus?) gets irritated and then I get some symptom like palpitation or feeling pain in left side eardrum ,neck head or nowadays constant mild pain in left shoulder.I tried to explain this to doctors but they just ignored so could you pls explain what test will help to detect this problem and what treatment is needed. Thank you so much again and pls make more videos on this topic.
Very powerful, extremely enriching. Thank you.
Great video, thanks. Could you possibly do a video or Q&A and talk about why someone would have hypertension in only one arm?
Thoroughly enjoy your RUclips channel. Great information.
This is an important subject nd interesting to hear the GE doc discuss it but sound quality is awful with all the background noise too.
Thank you. I will try the aloe vera gel drink. I am having this issue and am looking for a natural way to reduce the bloat.
Thanks..
What do you mean a mold exposure cos I have mould on the roof of my bathroom from condensation I was wondering if that's causing it
Kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Thank you dr. Gupta, you are the best
Gerd and palpitations/tachycardia make my anxiety so bad 10x worse smh
I think lot of us have sliding hernia but we don't know it. Time to strengthen our diaphragm.
yes but how????
@@rodouladoulos1548 Hit it with the hammer.
Namaste doc ,another great video
Hi Dr.Gupta, it would be great video, but I have hard time to hear what the gastro entomologist have to say due to very disturbed volume.
What about mechanical compression from the bloating stomach placed on the diaphragm which in turn puts pressure on the heart?
My doctors and Cardiologist have never brought this up.
i was 32years had some coffee and in 20 min felt extremely nauseated with cold sweat, somehting at heart felt heavy and short of breath was hungry but couldn't eat or drink or even stand up, heart rate increased so much.
Wow this is my issue. Cut out gluten and started digestive enzymes. My extra beats/ectopics/pvcs are reducing
Same here
So you have to take digestive enzymes daily ?
Coming back to this, my pvcs came back after a month break. I had resumed eating whatever. I stopped the enzymes but kept up on magnesium and some other supplements and they come and go. I wanna try going back to gluten free and see if they su side again. I think sugar is a trigger too
I'm always bloated when i lay down maybe to sleep or to relax my left side starts going crazy i can't sleep im losing weight im stressed everything is just crazy. Hopw u guys get well
I wish you guys did this clip in an office. The background sounds from the cafeteria is making it hard to hear. Thanks for the info though!
I hated this issue. Stopped eating about 6 hours before bed and have zero issues now. I start the day with a big meal and a pretty big lunch then that last meal is prettier moderate in size and far from when I go to bed. Has helped me loads
Thank you so much for all you do!! I wish your were in the US!
You are right about compressions of arteries he needs to look more at artery anatomy
Very enlightening thanx gor this great information 👍
