Building # 5 the U. S. Marines Hospital was built in 1844 it's still there, now it's condominiums. Also it's no longer just a short boardwalk away from the shoreline, dredging the harbor and using the fill to expand the land mass puts the shoreline a couple hundred yards away.

Back then photography was established but air planes was not. The only conceivable option is a air balloon to get this map done.
