i just wanna say thank you for being so open and honest throughout this journey. being open about body changes, mothering and just being relatable is going to save a lot of women watching from mental health struggles. theres no one size fits all with babies, you just gotta go for it and hope for the best. but youre an amazing mum xx
Thank you for being so open about your journey and normalising breastfeeding 🥰. I remember the pain at the beginning, I had blisters all around my nipples and it was torture every time she latched. However, I pushed through and the pain and once I got the right latch, the pain passed really quickly, now we’re almost 13 months in!
Being a mum looks so good on you Syd, it’s so crazy to think I’ve watched you for years and now we have had babies weeks apart! I would love to know how you guys got on with infacol, we have a sicky boy and still trying to figure things out! Ocean is so beautiful! ❤️
Thanks for this insight, going in today to be induced my first baby and its a girl. Your birth vlog has been my saviour I know whats roughly going to be happening. Well done for continuing vloging, I certainly appreciate the new mum insight ❤
So good you’re trying things to help your breastfeeding journey and not just giving up! You may already know this but nipple shields help SO much, I used them when cracked/ bleeding to give them time to heal and then they toughen up and good to go again
Hi Syd I don't have children but I am really enjoying your baby content. Ocean is so beautiful, I like the fact you are being real and honest regarding breast feeding, congratulations again to You and cass ❤
I had exactly the same with breastfeeding 4 weeks in and I was like wow we missed the part a few days in where everyone says it becomes really painful, boy after 4 weeks did it hit me. My nipples felt like they were going to fall off I was in so much pain. Turned out my little boy had a tongue tie and it needed dividing !! After that within a week our journey went smoothly again. Im still breastfeeding him and he’s 16 months old now & I’m pregnant with my 2nd little boy 🥰 your doing amazing xxx
@@SydneyMayCrouch you should’ve seen me when I found out you were pregnant, I was a state🤣 , and also I’m currently pregnant which makes it so much serial ❤️
I would definitely recommend getting a car camera, I had a mirror similar to yours for my daughter and in the summer the mirror made the car seat catch on fire due to the sun. Thank god she wasn’t in the car at the time but it is super scary.
Your smashing it so proud of you 🥹oceans so lucky to have you and Cas as parents. She stunning btw her hair 🥰 her lips 🥰 her everything 🥰 Highly recommend having a camera instead of the mirror in the car, don’t know if you’ve seen but a lady showed that her baby seat caught fire cos the mirror reflected the sun luckily baby wasn’t in it but thought i would let you know xx ❤❤❤❤
Congratulations on such a beautiful little girl, you could look into baby sign language to help her communicate with you, if you start using the signs for things like milk, hungry, sad, yes, no, pain now with her she will be able to absorb the words and signs as she grows and when she is hungry or poorly she will be able to say she is even though she can’t talk properly. If you also use signs for things like poo or pee when you change her so she knows the signs it will help with potty trying later on, it is such a useful skill to have, they are really easy to learn and there are some great colourful board books to start off with which she can look through with you so there plenty of opportunities to practice with her. There are also plenty of more comprehensive signs books for baby sign with more words and information for parents for you to learn from. Children get very stressed and grumpy when at the slightly older stage of not speaking but needing to tell you something as they haven’t formed the words yet but they understand the words you say to them but if she can sign what she is feeling that will help only help you in what can be very stressful situation when you don’t understand why she is screaming or crying at you and you can calm her down much quicker if she is telling you for instance she has a tooth pain or a tummy pain in sign. Hope it helps it was amazing for my 2 when they were little, hungry and milk signs were always a good one and then tooth and pain or head and pain, the language is pretty basic for babies but can change too toothache or headaches for example when she is a little older it’s all down too your choices you want her to learn at the start.
I had the exact same experience breastfeeding, I thought I’d never make it through but honestly after 3 months breastfeeding became the easiest thing. The feeds get so much shorted you just know what works and it is just so easy! My nipples were so so sore latching was agonising part of my nipple came off but your nipples have to get more supple and stretchy and believe me they do! You got this girl
Also nipple cream after every feed and then the silver nipple covers all the time as well even at night then clean them in cold water and they are cold for when you put them back on
Hey! You’re doing amazing with breastfeeding 🥰 I also experienced the same pain and nipple shields helped me. Some people advise to not use them as baby can get ‘used’ to them but I deffo wouldn’t of got through those rough patches without them. As ocean has taken to a dummy well along side breastfeeding and it hasn’t interfered,I’m sure she would be fine❤ Hopefully the pain eases up, it’s the WORST!😩
You sound like you have a really good supply, so even if you was to pump and give yourself the breaks you can still continue to breastfeed. Initially I had to feed baby from a cup/spoon and express a lot but still managed to breastfeed for 11months. It’s possible. It just clicked one day and the pain went xx
I don’t know if I’m being stupid but I really can’t figure out how to use the shields😭 do you need to express a little into it to get started, as they’re not like a suction I can’t really figure it out! Xx
@@SydneyMayCrouch I used the mam shields, I turned the sides outwards place the shield on the nipple then smoothed out the sides. I sometimes held them slightly in place as I found them abit awkward to start with too x
Ocean is a real life angel ❤ I am 11 weeks postpartum and I breast feed for 4 weeks and the same thing happened I found it so hard the pain is like no other so accepted to go onto formula and have such a better headspace now as I was always guessing how much has she had or if she was getting enough ❤ you are doing amazing and your little girl is beautiful xxx
Hello, your little girl is so perfect congratulations,I just wanted to say I saw a few TikTok’s about mirrors for cars and showing how they can cause fire’s,people have been swapping them for a camera or a screen to see as when the sun projects off the mirror it can cause fire’s against the fabric maybe try looking into that just to be safe🥰🙈xx
If you’re in the UK you can call the national breastfeeding helpline and they will let you know what drop in centres and groups there are available in your area! It won’t be as in depth as someone who spends 1:1 time with you for a couple of hours but it’s worth a try as it’s completely free!
Have you had her checked for tongue tie? I had bleeding nipples too and I noticed ocean was sleeping with her mouth open. My little boy did too and it’s actually a symptom of tongue tie (as is the nipples and a lot of other things which obviously I don’t know if she has or not). He had a posterior tongue tip and we had it snipped and he was a different baby and breast feeding was a completely different experience for me!
Hi sweet love you so much and love your videos I’m a mum to a little girl and I’ve heard that back seat mirrors can sometimes burn the baby’s car seat when it’s sunny so I’d be careful i would get a camera if I was you. Just letting you know as the uk is starting to get warm now. Love you ❤️
Dont go of other peoples opions , advice , your daughter is yours , your her mum u do whats best for your child , u do you no ones opions matter just do u and daughter xxxxx
Give yourself some grace on how long things take or how much time you need, most people take 9-12 months mat leave in the UK. Often influencers go back super quickly as obv they're self employed and it's been normalised online and forget that it isn't the norm in general especially over here!! Take whatever time you need mentally and physically and to adjust to new baby there's no pressure to create until you're there!
This isn’t meant in a hateful way whatsoever but babies are a month old, on the date they were born the following month not 4 weeks - there isn’t usually just 4 weeks in a month!
I did say that, I said I wasn’t sure however there was 48 hours in it so it wasn’t a big deal, the 10th was literally the next day from the clip I filmed :) xx
Hi Sydney I’m pregnant and was wondering which breast pump you use? I am thinking of getting one too but can’t tell which ones r good. Btw love u and ocean is so adorable 🥰❤️
Hi Sydney, little Ocean is beautiful; you look like your doing so well; enjoyed this vlog very much, yes breastfeeding at times can be difficult at times you’ve done the right thing by seeing a lactation consultant hopefully this helps you but never feel bad if breastfeeding doesn’t work out; sending you lots of love xxx
Amazon do something called Happy Boobies and a friend recommended them to me - she said they were amazing & really helped with letdown and soreness. They can be used either hot or cold and she said she really loved them!xx
Hi Sydney. Ange here. I found breastfeeding excruciating. I felt such a failure. I had a very hungry baby so switched to bottle when she was three months old. After that my baby was happy, settled, and gained the correct amount of weight. Breastfeeding does not suit everyone. PS: This was almost 50 years ago. Ha ha. Time flies. Enjoy being a Mum. It is just fabulous❤
@@Joss..... I actually can’t wait until my baby is a toddler! I feel like you can do so much more with them activity wise! The newborn/baby stage is so hard, in my opinion at least 🤣x
Don’t say “wait until” to new mums. It’s the worst possible thing to hear and people do it to you at every stage. It’s unhelpful and can be stressful. Let her live her life.
Syd ur an amazing mum! I found bf at the start really difficult as well. My advice would be to use ur breast milk around ur nipple as u would cream and from my experience sometimes u just have to really push through the difficult stages to get to the other side. While I found it so hard at first I breastfed till my son was 19months ❤

Try putting the car seat mirror on your middle seat head rest & tilting it towards her! I always found this an easier way to see their faces ❤ xxx
