Thanks for watching our artist talk with Henrike Naumann. Here are the timestamps: 00:00:00 Welcome Remarks by Sarah Ganz Blythe 00:01:27 Intro to "Made in Germany?" exhibition by Lynette Roth 00:14:11 Artist Talk by Henrike Naumann; 01:00:01 Q&A with artist.
A rare pleasure, to see an artist not only use a scholarly theory competently in the service of her art, but actually substantially improve on the theory.
The United States is very much a country divided in many ways. Seeing the experience of a country actually divided is very enlightening for understanding our own divisions, what motivates them, the dangers they pose, and hopefully eventually how to have some healing. The metaphor of broken bones and how they heal is pretty apt, especially since these divisions lead to the danger of actual broken bones or worse.
