Imhotep spent two films trying to live a life with pharaoh seti’s mistress only to be abandoned at the end. Can’t help but feel bad for him during the ending of this film.
I know like going through all this pain for and this is how she repays him by leaving him to die in the underworld that's messed up he had complete trust in her too it just makes you feel terrible for him
I've always felt bad for him especially because of all the things he did to be with her. I don't condone his actions, but I still felt bad watching her abandon him.

I feel sorry for Imhotep. The way he looks at Rick and Evelyn after being betrayed and abandoned by the woman he loved, is so heart-wretching. Seeing them together, truly loving each other, while Anck Su Namun didn't even care about Imhotep, makes it hard, if not impossible to feel for him. He was so broken that he just gave up. And from "The Mummy" and "The Mummy Returns", we all know that Imhotep wasn't a guy who gave up easily.
It perfectly makes sense when imotep gives up and Rick keeps fighting. For all the mummy hype he gets, imotep is still a priest at the end of the day and when he is forced to fight as a mortal. He is too scared to see a threat as he was never a warrior. Rick was a warrior both in his previous life and this life. So he doesn't shy away from fighting the scorpion king one on one and boldly face him.
I love that some ancient prophet was like "The Chosen One is going to be really stupid, our frieze is going to have to spell out the instructions explicitly."
The best mummy movie series of all time, the acting, the story, the adventure, the acting, all of them are amazing, it can be watched many times, it always has a place in the archive, the music is a masterpiece that was made in those years.

Although there would be a fight between Imhotep (without magical powers) and the Scorpion King, Rick would interfere and kill the Scorpion King instead, so he can send him and his army back to the underworld.
Only bc she knew Imhotep would be the only one that could resurrect her and she knew he WOULD do that. She wanted to escape from her marriage to the Pharaoh and death was the only way. I've read a lot of thoughts and explanations on this in the comments around the clips of these films. And I've gathered that she really was a coward in the end, never really loved Imhotep and needed him just to get her freedom. There was no true love, only lust.
