- How Strong do you need to be for Monkey Bars?
There are several ways to navigate across monkey bars but there was only really one technique that was going to work at our recent Spartan Race and it’s the technique that requires the most strength which meant not everyone could do it.
In this video you’ll learn the drills you need to get strong enough to conquer any monkey bars 💪🏼
Hey rikki!! Long time no commenting lol i came with new exercise ideas and those also come with many different techniques. For Example i thinked of weighted monkey bars kust like the pull ups aswell and i do a new exercise nowadays which is like deadhanging but with your arms bending exactly 90 deegrees or 60 as long as they are bended and that is really fast developing for me when i do often. How Are you?? How is the summer going?? It is amazing for me if you ask because i spend a lot of time playing on the bars or trees and i am also working on a game which i really want to releade this week
Bent arm technique is similar for rock climbing dynos and climbing in caves!
Would love to see you in a climbing gym sometimes and see how the techniques transfer!
Thank you! Yes indeed I agree
I’ll have to get to a climbing centre soon 🧗🏼♂️
Great video Rikki! The monkey bars were certainly tough in Mallorca! Have to try and train some of these in for Monterey. 😊
Thanks Richard! Yes, things to work on 💪🏼🇺🇸
Lots of good drills to get me up to speed to improve my bent arm monkey bar technique, thanks for all the great tips.
Thank you John 🐒
You’re welcome 💪🏼
I just recently got into monkey bars since my school has some random structure that people have been using for pullups and dead hangs for fun. Im glad i found you're Channel, dude! 👍
Happy to hear it 💪🏼 you’re welcome 🐒 more to come!
Rikki king of the swing. Thanks a lot very helpful and a new challenge.
Ha ha thank you 😁🐒
Yes have a go and let me know 💪🏼
Great video Rikki! 💪🏼👊🏼🐒
Cheers Johan 💪🏼🥷🏻🐒
I'm having a bit more success with monkey bars in gym but the fat ones defeat me - what would you recommend for improving fat bars since my hands aren't going to get bigger? I have started doing wrist exercises btw.
What technique do you use?
The best thing is to practice hanging on them first! Strengthen your grip that way and get used to the thickness!
Have a look at working on a false grip on the bar! That might be useful for certain techniques 💪🏼
Just realised that's whitecliff
It is indeed 😎
cuidarse 🙏🏼
How do you find a gym park that has these public monkey bars
Yeah it’s tough! We’ve been lucky around this area with a few calisthenics parks being built in the last few years but before that I used to go to kids play parks early morning 🐒
If you’ve not got any near you you may have to travel or write to your local council to get some funding 🤷🏼♂️
There’s always a way you just have to find it 🙏🏼🥷🏻

Hi Tony
I did a video last summer with a weighted vest - monkey bars and bodyweight - it’s good 💪🏼
It’s been a summer of obstacle courses 🥷🏻
Glad to hear from you again 👊🏼🐒
