Thank you for the long, in-depth video! So relaxing and informative. Atlases are so fascinating, and you have SO much knowledge of Florida - I kept alternating between being very relaxed and listening intently in the best way. So excited for part 2!

Thanks for this video! Very much enjoyed it. First traveled to Florida in 1999, took a road trip from Miami Beach down to the Keys, then up crossing the Everglades to Fort Myers and Sanibel Island, onward to Tampa Bay. Very memorable 3 weeks when gas cost 98 cents a gallon and nice motel rooms could be rented for 50 bucks. And yes, we encountered gators just as you said. Sanibel Island is still my happy place even though I'm not sure how much the hurricane left of it... Greetings from Germany!

Great, fun video.Yes, you can sleep down there for free. Can also stay 24 hr on the 1.5 mile long fishing pier.

Loved this video. I was born and raised in Melbourne but have lived all over Central and South Fl.

Awesome! I was from Dr Phillips but I had family around Daytona and it seems I was always going out to the Atlantic coast. Fun to hear from a fellow Floridian.

@becky-whispers Dr Phillips actually opened the fall after I graduated in 1987. We called it Bel Air Prep cause it was next to Universal Studios! Haha
