If she hadn't stopped Jason from killing Heinrich Faison, who is the person "Peter" truly still is, then Drew would still be alive, and Sam would've be in prison. It's not blinders it guilt. Guilt that she wasn't able to stop Valentin from giving Peter over to Faison after her and Valentin relationship went south after he cheated on her with Alex thinking that it was her and her being with Faison out of fear. She regrets not being able to be a mother to him when he was growing up.

It still sucks because peter is truly trying so hard to change but is being force to resort back to all his shady dealings because he’s scared of losing everything he’s built for himself outside of faison.
