He was only Drew for a couple of years. He only knew the bare bones Before that he was Jake Doe and Jason Morgan.A new actor could really make the part his own. Any changes they want to make to the character could easily be explained.
If Drew comes back they would have to recast him since Billy Miller left. Keep in mind that they didn't have a proper burial service for him and his storyline was just hanging. Let's see what happens after JaSam/Peter storyline ends.

It is sad when Steve Burton (who I really like don't get me wrong) they really wasted Billy Miller's fascinating talent & just ignored him (which was SO wrong on the writer's part) so I don't blame him for not resigning but I always knew one day he would go prime time &/or something b/c he can do it all drama, comedy, etc etc... Billy Miller rocks! I feel the same way about Roger Howarth damn such a powerhouse of an actor he is b/c he's another actor that truly is extraordinary at his craft (acting) - so versatile is definitely a way to describe him.

So the writers rewrote the role, making him softer and more verbal. He was a lot more approachable, and easy to love. But he was not Jason, and the writers reflected that in how they developed the new role. Jason would not have done the things Drew did. So the fans who liked Billy’s Jason actually did not like Jason, because he was not Jason. He was Drew, he just didn’t know it yet. But Drew’s personality was stronger than Jason’s memories and it began to assert itself. When they stripped all the things away that made Jason unique, what was left was a likable but rather boring, ordinary guy with nothing special about him. Sorry, but it’s true. Perhaps if he had gotten his Drew Cain memories back it would have been different. That is what I would like to see. Drew Cain come back and regain his memories, and become the unique person I think he probably was originally. Billy or a recast,, it doesn’t matter to me.
Something that proves Elizabeth really loves Franco is that she didn't feel the need to use lies and manipulation to make him stay with her. Not trying to throw shade, just an observation.

On the other hand he is a killer. He has probably saved more lives than anyone in town but is ruthless to his enmities. He does not hesitate to help the authorities in emergency situation like the MetoCourt hostage crisis, the hospital fire, and many others, often risking his own life. But he refuses to cooperate when it is on a personal level, even when he is innocent. Jason is loyal to a fault, to the people he loves. Jason is a puzzle to outsiders, But Jason was not shaped by childhood upbringing like most of us. All of that training and experience that people rely on to guide their choices, actions and behavior was lost forever. You might say he was born when he was 22, and pretty much had to raise himself in a matter of months, with guidance mostly from Robin and Sonny. It is not surprising that he is different. But there is a lot more of Jason Quartermaine in Jason Morgan than some people recognize.

Am I the only one who thought at first that the procedure did not work and that Franco was still Drew but was faking it in order to avoid hurting Elizabeth and Cameron?
think the new co-writer team was left a mess of a show in terms of script and storylines? I feel they're trying to clean up the canvas and sure up some storylines and have done an amazing job so far! Are they perfect no! But the show is much improved:) I feel right now that the new writers are trying to figure out what direction they want to take Peter, Sam, etc? From what I've read about changes in writing staff on a soap opera it takes 3-6 months before the new teams storylines start to gel and things begin to run smoothly! So I'm willing to wait and time will tell.....:)!
I also think that the new writers are trying to craft a really good storyline for the reveal of baby Wiley/Jonah? I think that they're going to make the reveal a February sweeps story with big drama? It is definitely possible that this is their plan? Especially since everything was such a mess when they took over....problem is the fans are so frustrated and don't want to wait because of how long it has been so patience has worn out!
Right...not like soaps gave a history of over the top melodrama...like aliens and vampires and freezing the world. It's what soaps do. Why does it need to be realistic? Just enjoy the ride.

This "real" Drew was shut a flat character, even more so than Jason a lot of the time, but that could just be me wanting Franco back. I think having one stoic and largely unemotional character like Jason is enough, and Jason is perfect in his role. Haha. I also agree with y'all that Franco will likely end up having some of Drew's memories, especially since we're so close to busting Peter. I think/hope that the Drew memories will be enough "proof" for Anna to start investigating what Jason, Sam, and Spinelli have found out and be able to see that yes, he is her son, but also a criminal who's gotten away with way to much!
For a long Long time I disliked the character Franco. This actor has made him much more inviting and wanted. Glad he is being good to Elizabeth and the boys. Hope he continues now that he is back.

Jennifer Thomas Probably because of the same reason Friz fans go on Jasam channels. Personally, while Jasam are my favorite, I can also enjoy watching other characters. As far as hating any characters, I réserve that for very few. I go to all the videos and appreciate that they are all there. I don’t want to limit myself to watching a narrow range of characters. And I like to read the comments of other fans and sometimes find my concept of characters change by seeing them through someone else’s eyes.

I think they've cleaned up quite a bit already? Wrote off, Shiloh, kim, kendra, and are tightening quite a few storylines as we speak!

For a long Long time I disliked the character Franco. This actor has made him much more inviting and wanted. Glad he is being good to Elizabeth and the boys. Hope he continues now that he is back.

I respect Roger but i hate Franco it's a character holding him back from his career as an actor. I would just quit and come back when Frank V has resigned. That man is a sicko.

Personally, while Jasam are my favorite, I can also enjoy watching other characters. As far as hating any characters, I réserve that for very few.
I go to all the videos and appreciate that they are all there. I don’t want to limit myself to watching a narrow range of characters. And I like to read the comments of other fans and sometimes find my concept of characters change by seeing them through someone else’s eyes.
