As a retired surveyor, I agree with what you said about the high water mark. When I would survey properties along navigable rivers, I’d show the property line as the ordinary high water mark. I’d also add a note explaining how it works, because that property line can meander as the bank erodes. So cool to think that all those sand bars that are below the high water mark are essentially public property where you can hang out. If I remember right, I think the state owns the property under rivers, but the feds controls the water. That’s for Virginia, other states might be different.

Humpt... I always wondered how those people were able to leave docks/blinds out alike that. I was , for sure, wondering how their stuff wasnt confiscated. I figured they had a buddy of a friend kinda deal that looked the other way. Good to know how that little law works. Great video as always, and Thumbs up! (btw. I'm currently building a little cabin located on the Tombiggbee river and seriously considering starting my youtube channel. I’m in the process of buying 24 acre lot on the Duck River and hope to start taking boat trips out to the Tennessee River. Maybe we can meetup one day so you can show me around and give me some boating advice.
The only tickets I have ever seen around here is not enough life jackets and drinking too much... But. I see those in the summertime about once a week. As far as where you park your boat. The worst thing that could happen is they tell you to move on. Always good to hear from you. Enjoy your sunday brother.
I was raised commercial fishing. Had fist fights about high water marks etc. Bridge tenders and such have actually called law on me. Now I just go on. Fighting solved nothing sigh. We need an intervention for River LMAO! LOVE THAT DOG!! Kids or anyone with kids has 1st priority I have even given up my camp spots for them. Let the youngins have fun! I am building an airboat hull into a small fishing/camping boat to stay out of their way.
Too funny, I'm sure a lot of fights have been had on this river... 🤣. Any suggestions to make river grow up? Let me know. Always good to hear from you. Your boat plan sounds perfect. Shallow water campsites.
