You can see how careful kygo is. Instead of changing the whole song, he just adds his elements to it. Maybe he is a bigger artist rn and he wants to be careful reworking legend songs like this. Yes, he might dont have the freedom like he used to when remixed other legend songs like Sexual Healing, Take On Me, Jolene etc. but he still can produce bangers like this. Thank you kygo XD
Kygo revealed that Tina had re-recorded the vocals for the song for this remix and I notice that he used her vocals from both the original recording and added her new vocals to the mix which was very clever.

Whitney Houston isnt here anymore and he remixed her song. He doesnt need her approval directly, he just needs the approval of whoever owns the rights to her music. So for Houston's case, there is a team that owns the rights and distributions of her song. So Kygo got approval for her team. Same would be for Tina Turner, except she is still alive, and still owns her own rights
