    But to the point of this video. Think about it. The F15 eagle was designed and built back in the 1970s. The fact that they are still being built and have been upgraded/updated 50 years later tells you that they are possibly the most perfect all around fighter/air superiority/ground attack aircraft ever designed and built. It still holds the record for thrust to weight ratio from the deck to 30 thousand feet. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Just polish 'em and keep them flying. Notice to our enemies, good luck.

    • @shaneduc
      @shaneduc Год назад

      You asking why the sidewinder is on the inside and the aim 120 on the out side?
      The Aim120 weights over 300 lbs and is a two man job or a lift truck. With the sidewinder it's lighter. And I'd easier to load on the inside station espely if there is a gas bag or weapons all ready on the CFT station. The sidewinder weights about 1/3 of a AIM120.

    • @DCS_World_Japan

      They're inert for training, though the seeker on the Sidewinder functions. No need to carry more than one each for training purposes.

      You're referring to the single seat F-15C Eagle! THAT plane is mainly air superiority! These Jets are F-15E Strike Eagles...which is a two seat strike fighter for mainly air to ground missions...which is why the back seater is the WSO (Weapons Systems Officer). The Strike Eagles is designed to destroy enemy ground targets, but still carries Sidewinders and an internal 20mm Vulcan cannon for air to air targets!
