Done it!!! I'm so happy with OUR job, I am not a handyman at all that's why it is so rewarding getting things done the way you show us video after video. If I would be able to thank you in person I would love to. Replaced my Xenon headlights this morning was very easy . You are a great teacher 😊
Hi Timm this is Alvin your number one fan. Thank you for this video, I haven't had to replace my bulb yet. You made this look so Simple. Thanks again for all your help.
I wanted to tell you thank you for your video on bulb replacement. Mine was similar, but different. 2006 X3 was a bit harder to get to but with your information was aware what I needed to be looking out for. John
Only watched a few of your video's but they're fantastically explained and filmed. Well done. Keep it up for us, they help a lot, cos let's face it when you buy a car these don't have these instructions. Nightmare!
THANK YOU times a million . So many variations of 3 series finally found YOU for my 330ci e46. Trial and error but you got me through it. So simple yet 😎
Hi Tim very useful video after spending an hour or so trying to reconnect the light your info on the wire was well received , NOte to self must watch video before starting next time thanks
So useful. Still a struggle to do with reaching past the wheel but so much better to know what movements I need to achieve when working at funny angle and essentially doing it by feel.
Not had to do this..yet, but I have replaced the side light/halo ring bulbs.. and what a ‘tight’ faff that is, especially the n/s. Getting the bulb out was easyish, but putting it back in was a frustration. I just could get the ‘spigots’ lined up to then twist.. 20 minutes later, minus knuckle skin..done. 🙄 Thanks for yet another ‘how to guide’ 👍🏼
Great video...help an absolute million done the left ns bulb change didn't work swapped the power packs...left bad bulb pack worked on good drivers side bulb so onto the module
Well Timm, I bet if BMW dealerships changed the bulb it wouldn’t be cheap. ( I was going to do the how many BMW technicians does it take joke) , excellent video very concise.
Hi Tim. Do you or have you done a video ref the removal of the Fog light carrier on your BMW E64...as i want to polish my lenses to remove X yrs of travelling. Cheers, Lew
Hey Timm! Great video about the Xenons. Glad the older cars have the ability to change without having to take all the wheel well out; but my E38 750iL just blew its transmission today! Little more important than the headlights! It has classic drum failure symptoms and I cross checked with your trans failsafe video. On to replacing the transmission!
Tim quick question - put my 630i through a carwash and the left passenger side Halo wont turn on despite Main headlight working. The headlight housing is showing condensation. Would this be a blown fuse/short OR just the bulb that needs replacing? Is the fuse in the glove compartment or boot for me to check?
Can’t find the ballast for the bulb ( D2S ) I can only find d1s or d3s . Do you know if any of the two options will work ? Let me know thx . Grate video by the way ..
Hi Tim. Replaced the bulb and ballast/igniter but still not working. (Drivers side) passenger side works fine. 645ci 2005 bmw. Do you know how many volts should be showing from the 2 pin connector that fits onto the ballast. Any help or suggestions to try much appreciated
Lol you make it look so bloody easy. I've literally been mucking about wiggling this darn thing for hours and I still can't get it. Genuinely considering taking off the bumper so I can remove the assembly and install the bulb externally and just putting up with the extra work of reinstalling the bumper....and yes I've disconnected the silly little safety connector
@@TimmsBMWRepairsandInformation Lol yeah now that I've gotten it once the other side took me about 5 min. I was taking out the wire connector like I should do but not realigning the white plastic ring in the igniter assembly. It's always something silly like that lol. I can rebuild the motor on these cars and get everything right from memory but when it comes to the fiddly bits I suddenly transform into an idiot.
Hi Tim I love your videos - helps me with my BMW e63 645CI - it’s actually an English car - bought from Park Lane BMW in 2004 and now drives the Australian roads - Sydney. I wanted to know if possible the name of the software you use to diagnose and or make coding changes. Thanks in advance Chris
Very well done as always! I'm currently looking at a very nice E61 545i near me. How does the 4.4 N62 engine compare to the 4.8 - does it have the same reliability, or is it worse?
Lol my turn now on my 650 these cars r funny same...mines just gone on the same side...I remember my 645 Angel lights went first on passenger side...like my 50 n now the zenon 😂😂 my turn tomrw
Hi, simmilar fidly is at my E39 540iA, you also have a collar with top position and a D2S bulb going into Key position. But also you have there a rubber dust cover over the collar, and if you try to put the whole package in place, it gets fiddly. It is maybe easier than on E64 because you operate in engine bay, but still it needs practicing. Maybe not 5000 times but only 1 000. The trick is to put rubber cover over the collar first and then try to line it up with the bulb. Easy but at first you curse alot.
Hi, thanks for this extra video,, i did watch your other headlight removal vid and that was also v usefull, if only i watched this one at the same time,, that dam connector/locater system, typical German engineering! over engineered! took me 2.5 hour's to work it out.
you are the only one who explained in a way that everyone could understand. We thank you a lot

Have you ever refurbished a reflector or projector?
Yes, but not on the E64 - but on my E31: ruclips.net/video/ml0xMe-LcRw/видео.html

No need to remove the light - do it in situ like this using a 3M polishing kit: ruclips.net/video/-wNR-ss8r_w/видео.htmlsi=xhuDqP4kNHj9f5F7&t=2277
Very informative. Thanks. Can you make a video about changing the reverse bulbs? Thanks again

There is no separate fuse - so it is probably the bulb (or LED) that has failed - good luck!
@@TimmsBMWRepairsandInformation thanks -ill try that so 👍
Hi Timm, this could be a silly question but would you disconnect the battery before doing a job like this?
Hello Jack, no, no need to, just keep the key in your pocket!

Hi Timm, can you give me some advice. I push the ignitor and I can't turn it to close, I've tried everything and nothing, what should I do? Thanks
Make sure the you have the loom disconnected, it will not go in with it in place

Hello Chris, I use INPA for most things (available from Amazon but you will need a laptop) and Carly for simple tasks
@@TimmsBMWRepairsandInformation thanks a million Tim - I truly appreciate your help. Have a good one

These bulbs have a life of around 3000 hours. When I bought my Z4 they were dangerously dim, new ones were a vast improvement.
Good to hear!
Thanks for the vdo , pain in the ass but got it in.

About the same Georgi, the both can suffer the usual PCV, valve-stem seals and coolant transfer pipe if not looked after!
