My Personal Best Ozu's film "Late Spring" (1949)

Among the all great films by Yasujiro Ozu, "Late Spring" is my personal best. I have seen 3 or 4 times already, but every time I watched, I was completely absorbed in it. Today, I watched again and realized Setsuko Hara's great acting that suggest her personal feeling as well.

I've watched about a half-dozen Ozu films and own them on DVD and Late Spring affected me the most. No one captures a sense of longing better than him. He always leaves me aching.

I am so happy hearing from a fan of Ozu films. I am trying to collect most of Ozu's DVDs cause I know that I will be seeing them in my late years. As a Japanese person, I am so glad that he made films of such peaceful yet deeply affecting Japanese sentiments.
