Easy English Active Listening

For learning any language, the most important activity is listening. A child learns its mother tongue by listening to the language spoken around it for almost a year before it can make a sentence. Similarly, for learners of English the need to listen carefully and complete concentration is a must. Even if an unfamiliar listening passage is not completely understood, one has to listen to it repeatedly in order to become familiar with it and in the process understanding also improves. Usually listening is passive and non-involved. This is a serious deterrent to accurate use of language. So active listening is necessary as this video explains. It also gives tips for improving active listening. The video explains how two aspects of listening are important-understanding the meaning and improving the language skills. There will be a distinct improvement in listening in case this video is followed carefully and used for listening practice.
