@TeamHardLife I ended up with a Vexan Tank. A spinning g rod. I'm thinking of running 80# braid as my main line, The diawa bgmq 14000 seems like the way to go, but I'm open to suggestions if you have any. Should I have gone conventional? Does Avet have a good cast reel to hit that 150yrd mark?

You don't have to go 10ft to hit 100 plus yds I can do that with 9ft Team Hard Life Rods.. and casting 8oz plus Bait into the wind.
