Maybe we can have the conversation about whether are title contenders after the city game on the 1st Dec. After international break we have Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa , Brighton
This is definitely your best type of video; at the computer, analytical, and with illustrative evidence. Way better than your straight to camera stuff. Keep it coming.
I think our squad is good enough to make a push for the title. Is it perfect? No. But I'd argue no one has a perfect squad either. The title will be won or lost depending how well Slot handles the squad rotation and how he responds to when teams inevitably figure this side out. Also I think we should appreciate the fact we have only conceded 2 goals. It's a fair point that we've only gone up against sides with weaker strikers, but I'm just happy we aren't conceding the first goal like we did last season.
Modern football is a game of injury management. The best modern teams at that are Man City and arguably Real Madrid. They're the only clubs that can sign elite players willing to warm a bench until their position is available through injury, tactical necessity, or late game rotations.
Let's just have a consistent season. Haven't had to cope with too many absences yet, still have a long way to go in all our competitions. A piece of silverware would be huge for slots first season. A cup final, top 4 in the league and making it to the quarterfinals of CL would be a great season and feels realistic.
We have 10 consecutive tough fixtures after the palace game, i've not see a more difficult run for a club like ever, If slot does something, build him a statue already Top 4 with a trophy and ucl semis, and i'd be over the moon
It is too early. We are playing ok and great at times but, it has to be pointed out we have played quite poor opposite so far making it very difficult to tell.
All I've seen is supporters from different clubs keep hyping us up and talking us up, but if we slip they're the first to turn and talk crap. It was the first thing they did last year, hyping us up and saying we are going for 4 trophies but as soon as we lost to utd. everyone who was hyping us up turned and said "haha they are bad"
😮From preseason we was contending to be contenders, secretly!. Slot knew the areas of improvement. People forget Milly, Henderson Firmino, origi, Stug, was all in the team, when we win the CL. Lalana, Loveran, Gomez' & Trent was already @ the club becore Klop flown in. Selling courtino helped the team. They was bought by the club, & brendon. That same team lost teo finals in the 1st season. So there's no reason why slot can't do it, with the same team. The team is better now, & the bew pkayers improved thst will make a difference.
I agree with your point about opposing strikers. But we've also conceded the least xG/match of any team, and there are 10 other players that contribute to buildup and chance creation. Regardless, the teams we have played are mostly unimpressive from top to bottom and the sample size is hardly 15% of the entire season; So only time will reveal the strength of the defense. Will have to see that stretch through the end of November goes... will be a brutal run of games. Looking forward to the City match as I'll be there! The team's depth is a glaring issue, but hoping that the new approach to team fitness and game management means we won't be as injury prone as in past seasons! I'm not one of those fans that are suggesting Szboszlai gets dropped (ridiculous stuff on the TL) but it's funny how we're seeing this team without Harvey Elliott getting a chance to prove himself in that role. He's weaker defensively, but he KNOWS how to pick out a pass and I think we'll see him really shine once he's back fit.
im happy if we get to top 5 in this season.. meaning that slot is doing alright to manage the team. i dont mind if we dont win the titles because again.. this season is basically the manager and team is still trying understand their roles and tactics and getting use to it.. so yeah.. ill be surprise if we win tho.. hahahaha but this next games is gonna be moree challenging so.. best of luck for the team.
With gritted teeth I say, If Liverpool do get Zumbemendi we actually challenge on a major title Starting with Jota is the best idea Nunez works off the bench well but Gravenberch is playing so damn well rn if anything happens we need a quality back up If Liverpool actually go a win i’d be surprised What’s scary about Liverpool is their whole style seems to have changed but yes we need a quality but Liverpool good on picking up these points these teams are what knocked Arsenal off the title twice and why we lost by a point twice
I think most Liverpool fans have been around long enough to have the rug pulled out from under our feet enough times that the media chatter really is taken with a grain of salt. If we get to Christmas and are still sitting top then I will start getting quietly optimistic. Our fixture list has been wonderfully easy for Slot to get his feet under the desk. It is a hell of a year to be in the hunt though. With Rodri gone & DeBruyne struggling with injury I don't think City will be putting up 90+ points this year. Arsenal really do seem to have been building towards this year but their tactical game plan seems to have changed a bit, they are not a front footed as they used to be. Liverpool went pretty deep last year, if this team can stay healthy then maybe they can just
In terms of some key metrics, I'd say City and Arsenal are still ahead of us. We have a bit of a "false" position due to the relative ease of the fixture list so far; "true" title contenders would have all 18 points, in my book. That said, we're at worst the 3rd best side in the league and should improve as the season progresses.
Don't forget Chelsea looking threatening this year but us, Arsenal and City. I agree but old red nose had it right you can loose it before Xmas but you can't win it before January
Law we don't need any more midfielders in Jan, Steff tearing up things at RB and his fitness is back . We do need a LB and a LCB as back up and replacements for Robbo and VVD
Another 8 games of playing together and coaching from the new team before Real/City can only be seen as a good thing. This is a team that is still developing match by match.
Liverpool hv a blunt strike force. They find it difficult to break down defences. Their ball in the final third is poor. The defence is shacky. Probably because the full backs, Trent and Rob are reserved and don't help much in the press. I'm not sure if they will contain the attacks of Arsenal, Chelsea and City.
@@Ndamulelo888 no, I've been a fan for more than 20 years. We have no depth this year other than up front. We all know what happens when the defense falls apart. We have loaned out or traded all of our bench and brought in exactly 1 player who is a back up at positions where we have some depth.
@@I_am_nobody999 nope. What happens if Gravenberch goes down, or Van Dijk? Who is coming in? Our whole defense will collapse and we will leak goals like a seive.
@@MrEMann Bro have some faith. If we lose Van Dijk we will play Konate and Quansah and we will finish 4th. If we lose Gravenberch we will play Endo. We are a strong side with some great players. It would take a collapse of half the squad to see us finish 8th or 9th. Last year we had a terrible injury crisis and we finished third and won a trophy. There's no one player that will see us finish 8th by their absence. There are too many other teams with that are worse than us for that.
Liverpool are always title contenders.... we just keep dropping points against lesser teams .when it matters.... palace, west ham, bournemouth etc...... but it's too early - come back at easter and lets have this chat
Liverpool is quite different from other teams because they tend to lose more to lesser teams than bigger teams. I don’t think Liverpool will struggle against bigger teams.
