There's no design fault with the brackets. You've used the wrong screws on the bottom rail - the larger head screws are used for the bottom rail and the screws for the upper bracket have smaller heads and fit perfectly. the larger heads give a bigger bearing surface on the bottom rail and the smaller heads fit fine on the top brackets.
Job done. Thanks for the video! Did it by myself (54yo woman) and feeling quite proud. One piece of advice I would give is careful you don’t over tighten the clasps as you can compress the van wall. Also I had to use a reinforcement bar inside bottom (as per instructions in package) as had no structural struts. Benefit is I could put it where I wanted.
Well done. I considered putting a strengthening bar on the inside but decided it was too 'belt and braces'. I do check the locking nuts periodically :)
Thank you for your video, very informative and concise. Although I can’t have one on my caravan it was still well worth a watch. I’ve just watched your videos on your trip to Spain and found them thoroughly informative and interesting. Can I ask you if you could direct me on how to find your route plan and overnight stays? I understand if it’s too much trouble. I have a caravan so I know we may not be able to stay at some of the places you stayed at but any help would be appreciated. Thanks again for your videos. 😁👍🛠️
Interesting, what you said about Eddis we’ve got a Swift van they have exactly the same attitude scheme and skive duck and dive best to do it yourself that way you know the jobs done right
Hello, I was about to refit an old bike carrier that I previously removed from my 25 year old van but I will feel safer scrapping it and fitting a new one. I looked at the Towsure page and it looks like you bought the Pro version rather than the basic. Is that right? For a few pounds more, I think it's a wise judgement. Thanks for a very useful video. Pete in West Cumbria.
@@KissisAdventures No problem. In fact after I got the old rack and ladder off the back of my van, I realised it needed painting. So I am just finishing that before fitting the new rack and putting the ladder on again. Your video was useful, thanks !
