Upgrades me ram up to I think 32 GB on the i5 and i7 model, don't quote me. But it's uprgradeable everything! Plus it's cheaper. Not much better of a gaming laptop though but on the bright side Dbrands sells some awesome skins for it too! Razer is too overpriced for what they offer. You can get a Msi gs40 phantom for cheaper with the same specs. Or even a Msi gs60 ghost pro with a 1080p screen. Save your money if you want a Razer blade wait for he 1080p model if they ever come out with one.

Sometimes it was tough to get the motorola phone mics positioned properly. But if you're curious, the 2014 moto X was the reference mic by the developer who built that app, so that soundmeter app was surprisingly accurate when using that phone.

Actually I don't understand why people are complaining about it being hot. I played fallout and cod and it doesn't even feel that hot. The only problem is the fan which is annoying as hell but I wear headphones so no problem for me.
Went with the Dell XPS 15 on my end. Chosen because of the upgradability (RAM specifically) and the gorgeous nearly bezel-less screen. It's really something to behold. Completely spoiled by it now. :) Do a lot of video editing, web design, and in your case CAD (most likely) and the XPS becomes the clear winner here.

I went back to the MS Store with the intention of swapping out for Blade (2016)...but left VERY underwhelmed and really glad I got the XPS15 (had the chance to trade for it too). The drivers for the touchpad on the Blade are just not up to snuff at all, compared to the XPS. You can tell Dell really worked with MS to get it right. It's Macbook Pro level quality tracking and multi-touch!

If you do hardcore gaming then get the 2016 blade. Its very powerful and does have good graphics. Also the core works with the 2016 version as well as the stealth.

Abraham Nila sadly,no.If you run n64 emulator the cpu temp will drastically increase and theres no other way but put your laptop to your filled bath tub to keep it cool.

Ivan Rodriguez No it's annoying mac trash, why would I need to "click anywhere" there's buttons for that, right click and left click. Your thumb is just handing down there anyways, especially from a gaming stand point (why would you ever use a track pad anyways) it makes more sense...

The low PCI-e SSD write speeds seem to be a Windows driver issue. Controllers that should be perfectly capable of more seem hamstrung on it right now. Hope that's fixed soon, but I don't think it's hardware related. OSX and Linux seem to handle the same drives better.

I'm not sure if the razer blade (2016) is worth it. if your not playing super heavy games then most definitely get the stealth

I like everything about this laptop except for the logo and the price. I might buy it but then i'll cover up the logo with something else because it's the ugliest logo ever.

Hi, Dave! Great video! I plan on buying the New Razer Blade 14". I will use it for work (mainly MS Office, e-mail, presentations) and gaming. Which display should I go for? The 3200 X 1800 QHD+ TOUCH DISPLAY or the 1920 X 1080 FULL HD MATTE DISPLAY?

Dave Lee, I'm not a gamer but i am leaning towards this computer for rendering 4k video's for my website and to work with photoshop. I love the 14 inch size as that is what my current six year old T400 Lenovo is.. Is this a great laptop for what I'm planning to use it for or is there something else you'd recommend? I'm tired of waiting on a new macbook pro with skylake and all the rest.
Im personally a fan of the buttons! Good review. Keep it up. I've got the 2015 FHD model with 8gb of ram, hasnt had any issues running any games yet

I am planning on buying a powerful and light laptop and I'm going back and forth between Dell XPS 15 with infinity display and Razer Blade 2016(and I think many people go through the same question). I need a dedicated graphics card since my major requires computer graphic rendering. I would do some gaming on the side but really can't decide between the two great laptops. What are your thoughts?

What should I choose for gaming ? ( Razer Blade Stealth with the core , MSI GT72S 6QE Dominator Pro G Tobii , 2016 Razer Blade without the external core ) Price is not my problem , I care mostly on performance ..
The low PCI-e SSD write speeds seem to be a Windows driver issue. Controllers that should be perfectly capable of more seem hamstrung on it right now. Hope that's fixed soon, but I don't think it's hardware related. OSX and Linux seem to handle the same drives better.
