After nearly 2 years of operation, the freezer is still going strong. I've left it on the slowest speed and energy consumption off my 24V solar battery bank runs between 300 and 500WH/day (winter - summer). It will use a bit more energy on the higher speeds, but it seems more than able to maintain the set temperature even on the hottest days. I have it set so that my freezer thermometer reads a low of -10°F and a high of +8°F, or average around 0°F (-18°C).

Glad you've found out more about these compressors, there's many channels on here that 'fiddle' with them for mini heat pumps etc. I think the 3 phase is at about 40-50 volts to the motor. For control, you could look into Node-red to control many many things including motor speeds based on average outside temperature for example, and home automation. Just a thought.

Yes, these are vary "hackable" units. I think I'll try my simple potentiometer for a while, still waiting on that part to arrive.

Have completed your testing with the 0-1500 ohm pot? What 0-1500 ohm pot did you purchase? Why do you have that capacitor connected between the +/- DC?

Yes, I need to go through that data and get a video put together. Slowest speed (0 ohms) was the most efficient. I picked up the pot from this e-bay store: www.ebay.com/str/highvoltagemary
I believe that is a surge suppression MOV across the input terminals, installed by the freezer mfg.

@@The4Crawler ok great. I will wait to see the video. I plan to use the 1.5k ohm pot to adjust RPM up to cool the danfoss unit down faster like when loading with food and the adjust back to 2000 RPM for efficiency.
