A year ago I started meditating. At first I would resolve to get through 20 minutes of meditation each day. Soon I was meditating for 1 hour each day. Many times I was surprised at how fast the hour flew by and how blessed and peaceful I felt. Each day I would also read books by Paramhansa Yogananda, Swami Kriyananda, Sri Gyanamata, Durga Mata, and others. Then I started meditating for 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour (sometimes 1.5 hours) in the evening and fasting one day each week.
I wasn't sure if I could consider Paramhansa Yogananda my guru but I read many of his discourses and was drawn to his teachings. I know that the goal is God but sometimes I would feel sad that my karma was not such that Yogananda could be my guru. I would remind myself that we all receive what we have earned. Then I read in one of Swami Kriyananda's books that Yogananda definitively could not be my guru based on certain criteria about never having met him or met someone who had met him. Around that same time I stopped meditating but I'm not sure why. I think I felt lost, like I needed a guru to focus on and I thought maybe there was someone else that should be my guru. I was/am confused. I'm very sad about my decision to stop meditating. It's been over 2 months and it feels like a big, awful fall, not a slip.
I found this discourse comforting though. I needed to be reminded that I'm not alone even in this very remorse-filled fall.

Hang in there! Your not alone. Your NEVER alone. GOD is always with you. Maybe you can’t see him. But he always sees you. And is always waiting for your embrace. ❤️🙏🏼❤️

You're not cursed to not be a disciple of Paramahamsa Yogananda, you're blessed to be born in a time where you have access to the teachings of 1000s of gurus including Paramahamsa within your hand.

Dear one, your guru is the one that inspires you to be on this journey home inside of you. Alive as human or not does not matter. Yogananda can be your guru. If he is not here in the flesh should not matter.

Prahlad heard his guru Narada when in the womb, and did not see him after that. Ekalavya made Dronacarya his guru by making a statue of Dronacarya and performing all his acts/rituals in front of his statue without him (guru) knowing. King Parikshit made Sukadeva Goswami his guru & heard him for 7 days straight before he freed himself from the shackles of materialism and did not feel the bite of the snake (which was predestined). There can be 2 types of gurus - diksa (initiating) guru who can be only 1 in a lifetime (you can only have only one beej mantra from the diksa guru) and shiksha (teacher) guru who can be many. Prahlad & Ekalavya for sure had shiksha gurus and not diksha gurus. The gurus also say that the greatest respect you can pay to them is to listen to their advise (in Toto) and pass on the knowledge (as it is) to the next generation..... When you have chosen a definite path & performed your sadhana with determination & dedication, the true guru will manifest in your life. But by then youhave already advanced in sadhana...how good is that?

What an amazing story and story telling to highlight and warn about the pitfalls of this path for sadhaks. This video will help many to understand that fall will happen to all seekers but if one is wary of it then they may get by with just a slip. Thanks Murali ji.🙏

Amazing talk once again‼️ Thank you so much Murali Ji🙏🏼 I know you don’t consider yourself a Guru, but for me you are much more qualified then %99 of those who claim to be.
