Can anyone explain why the path is going towards the east when both the sun and moon set in the west??? I’m honestly wondering.

As I understand it (and I'm no scientist), it's the shadow that'll be moving east. The sun will still be moving the correct direction but it'll be criss-crossing the moon so the shadow will start in the west and move to the east.

On 04/08/0004, exactly 2020 years ago, a solar eclipse occurred in the Roman Empire when Herod died and the baby Jesus was able to return from Egypt with his parents.
