Experienced animator here. One thing that would help is that Moon Animator has a reflect and stride feature. I am not animating in MA as much as I used to now (going to Blender actually), but reflect (alt + R) mirrors the entire animation, which would save a lot of time from animating the other half. Stride (M) splits the keyframe into two keyframes, which makes the animation a bit smoother. The distance the keyframes can split can be specified by the user (ctrl + M). This is very helpful for linear animations. When it comes to walk/running cycles, the arms move opposite of the legs (if the right leg is forward, the right arm is backwards, and vice versa with the left limbs). Have fun animating :)
@@CanadianProud_ Thank you for your advice. I have animated with moon for almost 4 years now and never knew this existed. Thank you for shedding some light on this
@@v-film-studio You're welcome. This feature only came into MA 2 (og MA did not have such feature). Also my animation experience is closer to a little over one year worth of animating (I have been using MA for almost three years now) :D

bro fr said "because of the lack of basic human movement understanding" but did not acknowledge that if you walk and put your arms in the way as your legs, you will automatically make them go in the opposite way unstead, get up and try it.
@@ManFaceMan5 i admit, walking animations are relatively easy. It is just this tutorial is probably gonna need to be renamed as "How to animate Robots walking"
guys if you want a very good walking animation make the legs and arms opposite each other (meaning if your left leg is going up, your left arm is going backwards.) no offense to v-film-studio, this is still helpful though, It's just the posing that's wrong(You can also just use references in walking/running cycles, so I hope this helps.)
1) Make a part with grid texture, add this texture's offset to animation and move it with speed of the player Then sync legs with this grid, so player can actually walk on the ground 2) Move legs and arms on opposite sides (Left leg and right hand in front, right leg and left hand in back) 3) When running, move your limbs much further "Bend" your arms from behind and then move them forward as if rig is covering itself with its hand The same with legs 3) Make more keyframes, stop using easing on everything 4) Use Ctrl+R, Stretch and MANY other tools in tabs above How the hell this got 182k views

seeing the arms and legs go the same way feels so wrong like when the right leg is ahead your left arm swings ahead NOT your right also how to you swap between the rotate & move controls i never knew that was an option so my characters have always walked in the same spot
one tip with walking running etc, if you want it to be more realistic in the vid he says left arm will be the in the same position as the left leg but in reality people don't walk or run like that, some people may not realize but when you walk if your left leg is the one in front your left arm will be in the back like the right leg then the right arm will be in the front like the left leg, yes i know some people won't care about the walking but some will
OMG, im getting a laptop so i can make roblox animations for my channel, and now i understand why ur so good! You dont even have to pose them for every frame? Can’t believe you can just put two completely different poses and let the game do it for u :
im just now learning about how to do this cause im tryna make a game and this actually helped me alot and i js need to find a video abt how to import it into the game itself
the legs and arms move the opposite way then what you explain, if you get up and walk around your room or whatever you’ll see the alternate opposite of each other. if you do it the other way it looks much more natural 👍
to move the character in a walk cycle just use cframe for your rig, this works better if the camera is moving with the character and also arms face the opposite way of the legs
The reason the running didn’t look like running had nothing to do with the speed of the animation. When you’re running, you lift both of your feet off of the ground in the middle of the movement. In your animation, the character always had at least one foot touching the ground, so it just looked like speed walking.
Making a walking animation is easy in r6, due to you only needing to move all the parts (like 6 parts) but r15 is different because it has slot of joints.
First, there are the body parts shown on 2:05. Click on the body part you wanna animate for example if I wanna animate right arm, click on “Right Arm”, and a rotation/movement thing will show up. Also click on R to switch between them
i just realised that is hard to walk moving your hands different directions to the leg u are moving (right leg forwards right arm backwards left leg backwards left arm forwards) and alternate while walking
The only one who lacked the idea of how a human walks is kinda you. WHY DID YOU RUIN SUCH A GREAT ANIMATION BY MAKING THE LEFT ARM AND LEG GO IN THE SAME DIRECTION 😭
why are the arms following the legs, that's not how it works, it feels so awkward to walk like that. btw at 4:14 don't start over, go to the 3 dots on your rig and add cframe and use that to change the position
