That was a brilliant very clear introduction to the Nymphes. Your voice was very clear. I am partially deaf so struggle with people that mumble and do not speak clearly. I understood your every word! You have just sold a Nymphes!! Cheers man you are legend.
Awesome enjoy! And thank you! Check out my other synth demos, I try to write a great song each time :)

Nice one! Great video, thanks for that! What’s great about this is it’s an analogue device with all those quirks, but also complete CC control and presets, and a brilliant price, from a small company that I don’t have to feel bad about supporting 😂
I love Dreadbox. I wish they would get out of the “box” and make a flagship keyboard. Imagine two of these in a board, knob per function, split/layer, and a few extra bits and bobs. It would be killer.
Typhon and Nymphes in one keyboard with onboard Hypnosis EFX! And external inputs so you could run sound through the Hypnosis only if you wanted. PolyAT and MPE lol - One can dream.@@valdir7426
I dunno, they’ve kinda carved out a cool niche for themselves with these boxes. A flagship keyboard could be a boat anchor to a small boutique company, economically speaking.
The workflow is a non-issue when you take a few minutes and map CC's to the unit; i've got my top faves loaded into the 4 banks on Arturia Keystep 37, and haven't touched the shift button in months 🤙🌌
great tip! I genuinely really like the workflow as is but I could totally see midi CC’s being a great solution for that last page of parameters I didn’t like!
Nice deep dive. Like most mono synths going back to my P5 rev 3, a little effect is almost manditory. Even the pro reviews of the CS-80 will tell you it requires reverb. Throw a little stereo something (chorus, delay or reverb) and this thing sounds amazing. A poly/key tracking LFO doing PWM is my absoule favorite pad sound on my Prophet 5 and this thing absolute nails that same vibe, for $500-$600. You just can't beat that. If you don't want the built in reverb it's easy enough to not use it and it's always there in a pinch. Now that it responds to MPE it's way beyond a no brainer. The unique trick up it's sleeve with all the unison/mono modas besides the poly mode is soooooo good! Throw it into 3 voice dual oscillator mode with detune and it more than stands with the output of the 'logues and the boutiques. Every sudio should have this machine.
Looking forward to the Nymphes 2. Knowing Dreadbox they usually develop carnations of their most successful synths, and this is already one of their most successful ones. Next one I hope will have knobs instead of faders, and a bit more hands on control for the modulation and not just usb-powered. So often you get noise using usb-power depending on the cord and adapter.
@@devinbelangermusicIl me plairait bien. Le son est superbe mais j'ai pas trop envie de me taper ce fonctionnement entre guillemets plus compliqué. Pour moi quand il y a des vrais boutons ça doit être plus simple et plus sympa. 😂
@@devinbelangermusic yes for me it sounds good analog warmth has great knob per function on controls, and can be used as a fx box sine vibes designed the effects they sound good 👍. I was looking at the nymphes next for a poly but wonder if it still has the noise issues
Hey Miles, sorry if I am a bit off topic but if I layer a sound on the prologue 16 and choose the second sound, is it possible to skip the patches, so that I don't have to go through all of them? Thanks!
Thanks for the correction! That makes sense! I was wondering about that. Glad you enjoyed the demo; stay subscribed I post a new synth video every week :)
love the sound and price but not crazy about the cryptic navigation especially regarding saving and loading patches.I wish it had an lcd for that and be able to have 128 patches with names2022 instead of the reverb
Totally, if this had an LCD it would be a game changer! Thanks & Stick around my channel for tons more musical walkthroughs of synths and pedals like this :)
Is Big Sky involved at all? I have the Typhon and it's amazeballs. OK just heard that you added delay and verb in post. I have a bunch of pedals and can do this live but would rather something like the Typhon with some amazing built in fx. I'll keep this on my radar but have another something more special coming. Thx for the upload, and Jorb is the man...
Yea I am a big fan of pedals with synths (I have lots of videos to check out on that), so yea the demo song uses the Big Sky. Thanks for watching and stick around for more synth content :)
Great review! I think you only missed one very cool function which is using the chord feature in conjunction with the various unison modes. It basically allows you to tune the oscillators in whatever intervals you want when using these modes
True! Thanks for catching that! I tend not to use chord modes much but you are 100% right that this one deserves a mention cause of how cool modulating the chord sounds! Thx for watching and stick around for synth videos weekly :)
seems the nails are mainly long on the right hand, from which we can infer that he probably plays classical guitar besides synths. You need finger nails with a little bit of length on the right hand to play properly on a Spanish classical guitar...
This synth initially went under my radar, I had no idea it was so extensive and sounded so good! Great job 👍
It sounds so great eh?! Thanks for watching :)
that demo track is absolutely fantastic !
Thank you!

just saw your reddit post then this. had to watch twice of course so good!

oh man that would be unreal! I'd buy a dreadbox flagship poly in a heartbeat
I'll take a flagship desktop; there's rumor of an abyss mk2

Unbelievable you make a good teacher 👏 🙌 👌
thanks so much Miracle!
Great videos... thank you !
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
awesome review, keep it up!
Thanks!
Really nice sound....and demo track🎹😊🎹
thank you very much!
Loving this synth, your demo helped sell it to me.
Will you be doing patches for this one?
Typhon: cool osc, fantastic filters and reverb, monophonic
Nymphes : polyphonic
need to try a Typhon, it looks awesome! What's your fave synth?
This motivates me to get one.
Thanks for the kind words!

Nymphes 2 would be so sick!
Abyss 2 allegedly coming this year
A semi-modular Nymphes would be NUTS 🥜
insta buy if it had more knobs too

Moi aussi!

Still waiting for that Syntakt video!
Great video. DB makes splitter cables for less noise.👏🏻👏🏻👋🏼👋🏼
I wish they would have included them and sent them out to existing owners.
Great tip! That would be a perfect purchase. Thanks for watching Seyfi!
100%. I used the splitter that came with my Keystep 37 and it has killed the noise for me.
I have the typhon have ya done a vid on it ? I get no noise over usb midi after update

what else sounds like the nymphes? not really concerned with analog or digital, or functions, just sound.... anything similar?
hmm - I'd say the oscillators of my OB-6 sound pretty similar, and I've heard that the Roland Juno (both digital and analog versions) sound similar!

Hey! Thanks for watching, I am not sure I understand your question, can you please clarify? Thx
Bro assign it to a favorite and recall with shift+ button
Man, how you loaded Initial Preset and User Library?
I just created my own initialize preset by disabling everything And then saving it to patch one!
@@devinbelangermusic you INITialized all the banks incl. Factories ? :)
I believe that it's a form of the word nymph, plural by adding -es. Sounds like NIMFS. Strange spelling though. 🤔 Great demo! ✌️

Dreadbox is a greek company and it is nýmphēs or something along those lines in greek.

fair feedback ! thanks for watching!
If you have heard the reverb on the Dreadbox Typhone you wouldn't want any other. Best reverb on any synth period...
interesting ! Have never played that one. Need to check it out

This or a slim phatty?
Totally different synths, if you only have one synth id get this for the versatility. But a Moog mono is the perfect 2nd synth
Thumbs up.. but way too many adverts lol
