Ausar’s shot isn’t the problem. It’s his confidence. All the airballs and players leaving him wide open all the time messed with his head. He’s gonna be just fine this season.

His confidence was definitely shook but the shot isn't not the problem.
You don't rebuild your jumpshot at 18-19 if it's working well.
He's still very inconsistent and shoots it differently every other time
But I think the hard work is done. He has a short release without a lot of moving parts. It's just about him getting comfortable with the shot and being able to repeat it. Then you just hope he has the touch

@@michaelahurt agreed. I think it’s gonna be a tweak here and there and he’ll be on his way

💯…when they start leaving you open, it makes you question yourself and the confidence can then plummet.

Fred can help, but Ausar needs to put in the work on his shot. If Ausar does not become an average shooter it should not be on Fred.

I personally thing Ausar is being held out of SL because Fred just started working with him and his shot probably not ready... he'll revert back to old habits as soon as he's under then gun.
Plus I agree with most here that his confidence is destroyed. It will take a minute to rebuild that...last thing they need him doing is going 2/32 from 3 in Vegas. It would over shadow everything else going on with our SL team.

Haliburton's goes in, Asaur's doesn't. All about effectiveness

Haliburton can repeat his mechanics. Ausar can't.
Plus Ausar already changed his shot at Elite. What you're watching is the reconstructed form. Hence the concern

Guys I’m just saying shooting form not comparing effectiveness, no way they are they same YALL right but haliburton be shooting flat footed not jumping at all lol sorry for the misunderstanding

@@NYCShaolin718 no one would care about Ausar’s shooting form if he shot 40% from 3

Don't worry too much about fluidity or percentage when looking at jumpshots. Lots of bad shooters have fluid jumpers and small sample percentages lie.
You're looking at FT%, overall touch and shooting mechanics.
Ausar is honestly closer to being a league average three point shooter than Ron because his jumpshot has already been rebuilt.
He will get more comfortable with it over time, he just can't repeat it consistently yet because it's not natural. But the more he shoots the more the muscle memory will kick in and it will get smoother. But it's a short compact stroke with a high release.
That's why Buzelis is considered a much better shooter than Holland because he has a textbook release. (And a really soft touch.) Once his legs get stronger he will almost certainly be a good shooter. It's similar to Franz
Whereas Ron struggled with touch even at the rim and had a 20%+ bad miss rate on jumpers. He has a complex shot that moves across his body and then he turns the ball over as he gets to his set point.
It's similar to how Steph shoots. The problem is guys like Steph, Reggie, Hali have shots that work _for them_ but you would never teach because they require insane fine motor control to replicate consistently. The margin for error is very small.
And _that_ is Ron's problem. If he was going to make that shot, he would have by now. But there are just too many places where the shot can break down. He also has his off hand on top of the ball which can often cause the thumb to get in the way and change the trajectory and contributes to why he can't get his hand over his elbow
I'm curious to see what Fred does. Hopefully it's as simple as moving that off hand and repositioning the feet. If you slant your feet left (for a right handed shooter) it pulls your elbow in and shortens the shot

If Vinson get Cade Ausar, Jaden Jalen Ron Isaiah all to shoot much better....it's a wrap we taking over.

Cade shot 43% on step back 3's which is excellent. I completely expect Cade to explode this year but I understand what you're saying.
      You can always get better.

Asur shot never coming. If you’ve played basketball, you know the super athletic guy that plays defense and rebounds but just does not have the coordination to shoot well. Not sure why we took another project shooter this year when similar player types like Cody Williams, who can shoot were available. At least Ron has actual basketball skill and can potentially develop a shot. People wanna believe in asur because we love defensive basketball in Detroit but any basketball head should clearly see the player he is.
