Good mix of movies you picked up Stuart 👍 Family Man is good. A what if story? Drama and comedy. Love the premise. Identity is interesting. Slapshot is fun.
Kes is brilliant, such a great film. I do love historical dramas and The Lion In Winter always gives me a good time. They don't make these epic dramas nowadays. 👍
Great pick ups Stuart. Kes is definetly an all time British classic, with of course the late, great, Brian Glover, who was taken much too soon. Cheers 👍.
A good haul. Love Kes and I think The Pawnbroker is Steiger’s best performance. Seconds, Howards End, The Father and The Lion in Winter all great. Family Man quite a nice festive one
Great pickups. Haven't seen 'Seconds' before. I own an import of the Slapshot Collection on Blu Ray. If I remember correctly it's a Sweden release but plays in English. Love those movies!
I'll have to look into that Rock Hudson flick. Really enjoy him. Freaky is a blast! Love Black Xmas. Violent Night is fin. The Father is fantastic. A bit depressing, a bit tough to watch, but very well done. Nice pickups!
Great pickups Stuart. It was probably on mine you saw The Pawnbroker. Great film but a bleak watch. Seconds is some great 👍 sci-fi. Sam will lose his shit when he sees you bought Kes 😅 Chef the film in the food truck 🚚
Excellent pickups Stuart. Family man, Freaky and Violent night are all excellent films in my opinion, you just reminded me to put Freaky on my wish list. Remember watching Slapshot back in the Eighties, think i was too young for that one so wouldn't mind giving that another watch. I always look at Play Dirty but never pull the trigger, Never seen it i don't think so will wait for your weekly watch video to see what you say about it.
Black Xmas ‘06’ an underrated remake and very different and more over the top than the original. Violent Night is still waiting to be watched in my collection.
Fantastic pick ups Stuart, seen that Legacy Of Rage the other day. Should have picked it up. Haven't seen many of his films, The Crow is great though. Never heard of Play Dirty, Kes is a seminal piece of filmmaking. Have to pick it up on Blu Ray as only got the VHS and haven't got a video player yet 🤣. Splendid t shirt as always matey. Identity is a really absorbing thriller
I don’t remember Legacy of Rage 🤔, Slap Shot is so great 😂👍, I haven’t seen Play Dirty 🤔, Never heard of Kes🤔, Seconds is weird but I liked it, Pawnbroker is great 👍, Freaky is a lot of fun 👍, Identity is so entertaining with a great cast 👍, Family Man is a solid film, I’m not a fan of Black XMas, Violent Night is entertaining as hell 😂, Howard’s End put me to sleep but I haven’t seen it in years 🤔, I never saw The Father, The Lion in Winter is awesome 👍, I never heard of the Heineken kidnapping…thanks for the shoutout and kind words Stuart, great video mate 👍🙏🏻
I love legacy of rage, unfortunately Lee's girlfriend in the film Regina Kent also died very young. Family man is good, Identify is also very good, as for Hopkins, he is one of the best around.
Black Xmas was utter shite in my opinion though I watched it ages ago and can’t remember much. Just that it was an utterly forgettable remake of a genuine classic and it had Buffy’s sister in it. Having just Googled it I see it was directed by the same guy who did the Willard remake with Crispin Glover which was the polar opposite, a remake that was damn good and possibly better than the original. Anyhow, that’d be the reason I had high hopes for Black Xmas but it was just complete shit … be interested to know what you think. Love the T-shirt y the way, where did you pick that up from? Oh, and if you want a recommendation then watch Starve Acre. It’s just been released on Blu-ray and is a superb adaptation of a superb book. Great cast with Matt Smith and Morfydd Clarke (If you’ve not seen Saint Maud that’s also brilliant) and some great practical FX. A slow burner that’s not for everyone but for folk horror junkies like myself it’s one of the best new releases in a long while that’ll stick with you long after the credits have finished … … I’ll also throw in The Outcasts from BFI Flipside (one of the best labels for hidden gems) another folk tale from the pen of Robert Wynne Simmonds (Blood on Satan’s Claw) which again is a slow burner that eschews gratuitous gore for a haunting, ethereal film that sadly went almost unseen but deserves more attention and, again, will likely take up lodging inside your head! That’ll do for now anyhow, stay safe, look after yourself and keep watching those movies!
Hi Stuart, I agree, if you haven’t seen Kes, then your not a true Brit 🫡 I’ve shown The Pawnbroker a few months back and I believe Roy did recently too (great movie) Family Man has a similar concept to It’s A Wonderful Life…a what if? Film. Violent Night is fun 😁 you can’t go wrong with Anthony Hopkins 🧐 nice T-Shirt too mate, take care👍😃👍
