- We are near Warcop village about 2 miles from the Eden Valley Railway station at Warcop. I am filming 4 videos today so as a am getting near Warcop military training area I have to get permission from air traffic control at Carlisle airport to fly there. Filmed with the Mavic 2 zoom.

River Eden, river in northern England.
It rises in the fells (uplands) that connect the Lake District with the highlands of the Pennines and flows 90 miles (145 km) northwestward to its estuary in the Solway Firth, an Irish Sea inlet.

Back in 2002 I was once a volunteer and on occasion I would take a Wickham trolley with tools trailer in tow all the way to within a mile or so of Appleby East Station site, to do track work and vegetation clearance, crossing over Coupland Beck masonry viaduct on the way.
It was a 300 mile round trip for me to get there, but it was worth it and some great times were had.
Nowerdays the authorised length in use is restricted to a point much closer to Warcop, nevertheless a very pleasant trip can be taken in delightful Cumbria countryside with stunning views of the North pennine hills on the operating days.
That's great you were very dedicated and loved what you loved doing and in one of the best places to be in the country, less I am biased.
@@EdenValleyAdventuresUK yes such a lovely scenic part of the country which also drew me to the place, as well as it was viable as a preserved railway.

At 6:25 that patch of bright, fresh ballast is end of current operations for the Eden Valley Railway. It's such a shame Sustrans won't talk with the railway, because while Eden Valley may own the track... Sustrans own the trackbed and negotiations have been at a standstill for years.
