This would be a pricy piece of real estate located rite on ocean. Stunning fixtures etc from the yester, years. Would love to own it and take it back to its original scheme, but I would have to add live flamingos
LOVE those old sconces & pecky cypress ceilings in that great room! Check that Spanish tile for dog paw prints!!! Often those original old tiles had a paw print or two, from dogs running thru the drying /curing yards where the tiles were made, our house had some , it was sooo cool!!
My thoughts on that port hole you were asking about: extra light without electricity or if it is open then a vent air hole to either let air go through or out like hurricanes. Yes, if I could afford it this would be a great place to live. Love those built in cabinets too. Have a great day
I wonder how much this house is going for? Looks like one I'd buy if I had the money,. The bathroom at the bottom of the house is really neat! along with the court yard
I lived in Southern Florida for 5 years, in a 1926 Mizner style house; pecky cypress ceilings, beautiful iron work, on the intercostal. It was a privilege to live there. I hope someone can keep saving this place, but it seems that people buy a place for the land , but then end up razing the cool old houses just to build something newer. Hope they have enough $$ to save the place! Oh and that mantel was likely plaster ; termites can’t eat that!
Yeah, that hurricane came over here to Levy county and hit us 😢. Exactly where you are in the house. Yes, I heard from the neighbors. They called the Popo on trespassers.😂😂
That is one awesome old mansion, some of the light fixtures were amazing, the paint scheme, except for that ugly Easter style bathroom, was on point, the ceilings were amazing. Nice job Rick!
Enjoy your videos but please take a little more time on some of the details, like the funky kitchen sink, the tiles you swung over, the ceramic doorknobs. Lots of detail you could video and research for dates and other info.
That chute could have been a coal chute; perhaps since they were obviously wealthy , they may have burned coal on those chilly days, and Florida does have some chilly days.. 50 in Florida is not the same as 50 degrees in Michigan!
Looks like someone made an attempt to patch the walls - my late husband worked for a drywall company, and those patches are to cover nail holes. He would mud and tape while I patched the nail holes.
This video is just beautiful just like the other ones you have. I love how in the beginning of these videos, you tell us about the past of these abandoned places and it's like you're reading book to us. I enjoy your videos and the places you share with us. ❤❤
I am a french Canadian and I can tell you what is written on that toilet seat it is obvious that that bathroom is only for the ladies and it says oui oui madamme: yes yes Mam meaning a woman.
If i had this place i would sit on the lawn all day watching and listening to the waves. I love the beach ❤ im not fond of the house itself though. Something small would work for me 😂 a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom/living room all in one for me 😂😂😂 thats all i need
Those stairs in the kitchen were for the cook/servants living area. Maybe you said that. Notice their bathroom had down graded sink and bathtub compared to the others.
Wow ..... what a beautiful place. It would be lovely if someone could or bought this and restored it to a beautiful glory and splender . It would be a great beachside hotel. Watching these urbexers it amazes me just how many beautiful and gorgeous places have been left to destruction ny nature and of course the human race. We are a wasteful species to say the least .🥺
Looks like vandalism and maybe a few hurricane's over the years put a bad beating on this one time mansion lost in time and space. Value is more than likely in the Land.
I'm not a French Major or an expert in the language but I'm thinking the toilet seat lid says " YES , YES MADAM " meaning yes ....yes ma' am" kind of like a response to a request. But I'm not sure. It is a cute toilet seat. 😊

We live super close to it and we’re also on the water, but we pass it all the time and it’s super cool!
The sound of the ocean and views are priceless
You do an excellent job on script writing & delivery.
Thank you 👍 stay tuned for more.

The potential of that courtyard is so painful to see wasted.
For sure.

Hey Rick That was an awesome video
Yes! I'd live here! 🩷🩷🩷🩷
Same
They should knock it down and build a substantial home that can stand hurricanes.
Gonna have to… no insurance if not and no loan with no insurance… Good Luck with that BS

Is that "portal" maybe a vent for something ? You are right, It seems a strange place to put a " skylight"
I live ten minutes away and always wondered what it looked like inside! Sad to see it sit like that.
If i had this place i would sit on the lawn all day watching and listening to the waves. I love the beach ❤ im not fond of the house itself though. Something small would work for me 😂 a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom/living room all in one for me 😂😂😂 thats all i need
Oh of course yes indeed.

I honestly didn't know that. Thanks for telling me.
Just found your channel, looks great. I just subscribed.
Welcome!
Did you see the disk cut out in the kitchen window, above the sink
I missed it!
Its for birds to fly inside and out
How is this not sold? The beach front property is worth a fortune.

I am handicap🎉can you please help me too find a great place to live
so, French for "Yes, yes, madam."
The toilet seat humor is "Wee Wee" Madame.
It's how it sounds to an English speaker not the literal translation.
Right… and it simply means ‘yes yes madam’
@@PJL7095 it is clever...i wonder if it is called homonym or homophone humor.
@@203blessings it’s called a bilingual pun actually
@@PJL7095 cool thanks for that info. Are you a language specialist?
Was that round disk in the floor in the basement an old fashioned sump pump?
Hrmmm.... Not sure.
Oui oui madame means yes yes madam
Looks like vandalism and maybe a few hurricane's over the years put a bad beating on this one time mansion lost in time and space. Value is more than likely in the Land.
At one point it was untouched until recently it got bad with vandalism.
"Yes Yes my lady!"

" YES , YES MADAM " meaning yes ....yes ma' am" kind of like a response to a request. But I'm not sure.
It is a cute toilet seat. 😊
Its a play on words. The pronunciation is we we, kind like pee pee. Yeah our ancestors were nutty too.
Man! I would have to hire maids to clean that place if I lived there!!! 😮😮😮😱😱😱😱
Im from this area...trying to pinpoint exactly where on A1A this is
I think he said Ormond Beach
Oui Oui Madame means yes yes ma’am
The toilet said mean yes yes madam
Hahaha nice
Oui oui madame is french for yes, yes madame
Ha ha use a trash shoot
I believe that looks more like a coal shoot
For when they delivered the coal back in the day
Ahhhh I was wondering.
Was this Ron Rices Mansion??
Not that I know of. I think that's a different place in Ormond Beach.
I found it... Was once owned by a Drug Cartel. Supposedly a woman bought this 3years ago with plans to renovate.
phonetically pronounced "we, we, madam/e".
Narco house
Lol
Do you have permission to be on the property?
I would assume not since he did not want the neighbors cutting grass to see him.
