I remember first listening to this mix on soundcloud 3 years. I remember looking at a sunset while playing it during a car ride home. This song will always be within my soul.
Porter Robinson is able to so vividly key emotion throughout this song. The sense of just sort of being, drifting, when there's a subtle shift. In a sudden spark, the spirit is ignited and takes off with inspiration on a manic flight. There's a final burst before the feeling starts to flutter out. As the drifting sensation emerges again there's quiet or solemn reflection on what all happened during that time. - that was my perception (or projection) as I listened, anyway.
Kinda sounds like Song For You and A Sound for Lonely People combined, and I love that. I’ve known the latter since late 2022, maybe Sept. or October, and still think it’s one of my fav. unreleased songs of his 💙
This kinda fits the style of Nurture and everything after it. Porters new music is so good, maybe TOO damn good. Packing so much meaning into a song with a universally understood sound. I’m happy to see his songs get into DDR, he sure as hell deserves it.

When I first heard Shelter, I was blown away, it led me to overthink and it's just an amazing creation, but after that I tried to check out Worlds, and I didn't understand that music, I was hoping more Shelter kinda stuff, but after I understood it with the help of a Porter Fan, now I feel it's the album of the century.. And tbh, the middle part is what makes me feel so good.. His motto was always to create something which isn't just limited to music, but he wanted to create something which would move people, more than music.. and I think he succeeded big time..
Yes his fanbase isn't that much, if you compare to the most popular artists, but the fanbase that he has is so so strong and are grateful to Porter for creating those songs, that I think even if Porter comes on to us the other day, wanting out souls, we will happily trade it to him..
Imagine though, there's potentially thousands of songs like this that nobody will ever hear in Porter's computer.
