I think it's the nicest switch lite but I already have a switch lite.
I wish they would release some of these special editions at launch; I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for the nicer paint job, but I can't justify buying another console I already have, especially when we're less than a year away from its successor.
That is definitely understandable, they want people to sell their existing one for this.
Questions. Does it come with a physical cartridge of the game? Does it come with 12 month online subscription (is that what you mean by NSO?) and if I already have a switch, OLED., will this subscription operate on both switches or just one? Thanks guys.
No game is not included, yes it comes with 12 months subscription to the highest tier (for Nintendo 64 and GBA). Yes the subscription will work on both switches and you will be able to transfer saves with the cloud.

100% agree with you. There is a possibility that after the next gen Switch comes out; I believe Nintendo will make another variant of the Switch 1 that is even smaller than the Switch lite (like the 4 inch Anbernic devices) and will play all Switcj 1 games. I think the current tech, will allow them to sell it for even cheaper than the Switch lite AND have a battery life. I also notice that Switch lite has been going on sale alot for at least 50 off (Walmart has the Aninal crossing Switch lite that comes with the gane for $159). It makes me think Nintendo will make smaller Switch lite and call it a Switch Pocket.
In my mind, the reason why this, in your own worlds, would be an "amazing deal" is because there is no price increase like with the OLED special editions AND you get a 12-month + expansion membership with it, which decreases the price of it (technically).
yeah exactly. Personally i found a lite used in excellent condition and bought that instead but it's definitely the best deal for switch right now

It’s a good idea to have a backup. I would not suggest to buy for resell value as they gonna super mass produce these. Just like the 3DS

Yeah for me that’s the biggest reason, especially when switch 2 is quite uknown and won’t have huge library on release, I would imagine having the switch lite as a dedicated portable. Would be very different feeling. Also possibility to hack it and mod it to have OLED screen. I still use my 3ds XL a lot of
@@MadaoAU switch 2 is most likely gonna be bigger or at least as hybrid as switch 1 so i doubt it will be more portable than the switch oled so switch lite is still a great investment imo

I have the light blue. And I love the light weight. Buy nothing beats the oled.
I do agree the oled is great, but I feel in the future a smaller factor switch 1 will make more sense, even with a worse screen. If there is backwards compatibility for switch 2 you won’t really use it docked as much, so this could be good. I understand tho this is hard to justify if you don’t use it a lot for traveling. That is going to be my main point for a lite
Dont buy this for a collectors item. This will he mass produced like the animal crossing switch. There will be an abundance of them. Only buy it because you want it or need it not because you think it will be worth something later.
Hi I don’t buy collectors items for value I only buy what I really want it, this one I will get it as a project to mod it with oled screen and to be my definitive way to play portably on trips switch games

Abundance doesn't matter. There's millions of gameboy Pokemon games that sold and other games too and they're still expensive. The prices of games and consoles as they age don't just depend on rarity. Also, the animal crossing switch didn't release so close to the end of its life cycle. A lot of people are skipping this edition because they don't need a second or third switch. So keep that in mind also.

@TwoGendersOnly That is completely untrue. The reason why older gameboy consoles are expensive is because they were rare or special releases. The typical game boy is not that expensive, specifically when getting them in Japan where they were originally made rather than the U.S. or other countries. All nintendo and Sony consoles are typically cheaper there. The reason for the price rise of them is because they are now considered vintage and you come across less and less of them as time goes on. The gameboy was released 35 years ago. So in a way they are more rare now, especially ones that are in good pristine condition without having to replace original parts. People are paying the big bucks for them being all original and good condition, not just simply for a working ones in poor condition as there are plenty of alternatives ways to play these games but they are paying for the nostalgia, and the want it to be close to new conditition as possible.
Unfortunately I just preorder the hyrule edition switch lite. I have the grey one is getting on a bit. So hyrule switch lite brand new is no brainer. Especially technically switch lite is discontinued for sometime. Thanks Nintendo.

Lol it won't be a paperweight. The switch library is already big enough that most people can game on a switch for a few more years with their back catalog and that's without counting on new games that will likely be coming to switch for a couple more years.
Additionally, you could always hack it and have yourself a retro device, extending its useful life even longer.
I do think this Zelda switch is the nicest switch lite so far, but I don't think I'll be getting it. I already have a switch lite.

@@whigmalwhim4760 what other platforms? Switch 2 MIGHT be able to play them, and that's the only other console that can play switch games.
It's not crazy to wait 2-3 years after switch 2 releases to upgrade from switch if you have a huge back catalog and new games still to play. In that time, switch 2s might become available on second hand market too. Just look at ps4 to ps5; I haven't regretted not getting ps5 yet.
You can replace them if you open it. It’s not that complicated. Unless you afraid of opening your devices
@@MadaoAU replace them by handling multiple delicate ribbon cables that could snap or break with dust. A regular switch is more repairable. $340 for a brand new switch is too high when second hand is cheaper if you want a switch to jailbreak and fix up. $10 more and you can get a steam deck

Definitely I will not plan to sell it. What I hope to do is OLED mod for the screen and it's gonna be the way I will play Switch games, when Switch 2 is out. Lite is really great to carry compared to normal Switch

the thing is, the switch lite is for children. since you can only have one active switch at a time, including the lite. children and the homeless are the only ones i recommend a lite to. i really did now a homeless guy who loved the lite. pokemon violet!
